Parameter identification of ship motion mathematical model based on full-scale trial data

Meng Yao,Zhang Xiufeng,Zhu Jinxin 대한조선학회 2022 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.14 No.1

Using the full-scale trial data of vessel YUKUN, a parameter identification scheme, Support Vector Regression (SVR) combined with modified grey wolf optimizer (MGWO), is proposed for identifying ship motion model. This study establishes response mathematical model and 4 Degrees of Freedom (DOF) nonlinear whole-ship mathematical model of vessel YUKUN. The full-scale trial data of vessel YUKUN are processed and analyzed. In the study of grey box identification modeling, the rough parameters reference values of ship response mathematical model and nonlinear whole-ship mathematical model are obtained by SVR. Based on these rough reference values, the MGWO algorithm and Firefly Algorithm are used to further optimize them to obtain final parameter identification values. The final parameter identification values obtained by the three algorithms and recursive least squares with forgetting factor are substituted into the mathematical model to obtain the prediction results of ship motion state. The final prediction results of ship motion state show that the MGWO algorithm has strong search and optimization ability. In the case that the reference values obtained by SVR are not accurate, MGWO algorithm can be used to find accurate parameters of ship motion mathematical model in a given range. The proposed scheme provides a reference for the parameter identification of ship motion mathematical model.

      • Data augmentation for plant growth prediction in time-series

        Meng Yao,Alvaro Fuentes,Jaehwan Lee,Sook Yoon,Dong Sun Park 제어로봇시스템학회 2021 제어로봇시스템학회 각 지부별 자료집 Vol.2021 No.12

Deep learning technuques have been constantly developed and improved through the recent years. Many domains adopt these techniques for classification, object detection, segmentation, and prediction. Recently, agricultural industries utilize those techniques to improve plant harvesting and bring automation to farmers. One of the important tasks is plant growth prediction. Collecting labeled data from crops and greenhouses is a time-consuming and complicated task due to the large variety of crops, especially, when tasks require a large amount of labeled data for training. Data augmentation for training deep neural networks is a well-established technique. This paper presents a data augmentation method that holds the plant growth structure especially in time series, thus maintaining the plant physical appearance of the dataset as close as possible to plants in real agricultural scenes. The proposed method can be used in tasks that require plant image data in time series for plant growth prediction.

microRNA-328 in exosomes derived from M2 macrophages exerts a promotive effect on the progression of pulmonary fibrosis via FAM13A in a rat model

        Meng-Ying Yao,Wei-Hong Zhang,Wen-Tao Ma,Qiu-Hong Liu,Li-Hua Xing,Gao-Feng Zhao 생화학분자생물학회 2019 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.51 No.-

Currently, exosome-enclosed microRNAs (miRs) in exhaled breath have potential for biomarker discovery in patients with pulmonary diseases. This study was performed to investigate the roles of M2 macrophage-derived exosomes expressing miR-328 in pulmonary fibrosis (PF). Microarray-based analysis was used to screen differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and regulatory miRs in PF. The miR-target relationship between FAM13A and miR-328 was confirmed. The expression of FAM13A and miR-328 was measured in PF rats, and gain- and loss-of-function assays were conducted to determine the regulatory effects of FAM13A and miR-328 on PF. In addition, exosomes derived from M2 macrophages were isolated and then cocultured with pulmonary interstitial fibroblasts to identify the role of these exosomes in PF. Furthermore, the effects of M2 macrophage-derived exosomes overexpressing miR-328 on pulmonary fibroblast proliferation and the progression of PF were assessed in vivo. miR-328 might perform a vital function in PF by regulating FAM13A. FAM13A expression was downregulated while miR-328 expression was upregulated in rats with PF, and a miR-target relationship between miR-328 and FAM13A was observed. Additionally, miR-328 overexpression and FAM13A silencing each were suggested to promote pulmonary interstitial fibroblast proliferation and the expression of Collagen 1A, Collagen 3A and α-SMA. Then, in vitro experiments demonstrated that M2 macrophage-derived exosomes overexpressing miR-328 contributed to enhanced pulmonary interstitial fibroblast proliferation and promoted PF. Furthermore, in vivo experiments confirmed the promotive effects of M2 macrophagederived exosomes overexpressing miR-328 on the progression of PF. Collectively, the results showed that

      • ANXA2 Regulates the Behavior of SGC-7901 Cells

        Sun, Meng-Yao,Xing, Rui-Huan,Gao, Xiao-Jie,Yu, Xiang,He, Hui-Min,Gao, Ning,Shi, Hong-Yan,Hu, Yan-Yan,Wang, Qi-Xuan,Xu, Jin-Hui,Hou, Ying-Chun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.10

ANXA2, a member of the annexin family, is overexpressed and plays important roles in tumor development. However, the significance of ANXA2 expression in gastric carcinoma has not been clarified. To elucidate its roles in growth of gastric cancer, ANXA2 expression in SGC-7901 cells was inhibited with a designated siRNA, then cell proliferation, cell cycling, apoptosis and motility were determined by MTT assay, flow cytometry, Hoechst 33342 staining and wound healing assay, respectively. To further assess the behavior of ANXA2 deleted SGC-7901 cells, changes of microstructures were observed under fluorescence microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy and electron microscopy. We found that inhibition of ANXA2 expression caused cell proliferation to decrease significantly with G1 arrest, motility to be reduced with changes in pseudopodia/filopodia structure and F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin expression, and apoptosis to be enhanced albeit without significance. At the same time, ANXA2 deletion resulted in fewer pseudopodia/filopodia, non-stained areas were increased, contact inhibition among cells reappeared, and expression of F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin was decreased, with induction of polymerized disassembled forms. Taken together, these data suggest that ANXA2 overexpression is important to maintain the malignancy of cancer cells, and this member of the annexin family has potential to be considered as a target for the gene therapy of gastric carcinoma.

Growth, Feed Utilization and Blood Metabolic Responses to Different Amylose-amylopectin Ratio Fed Diets in Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

Chen, Meng-Yao,Ye, Ji-Dan,Yang, Wei,Wang, Kun Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2013 Animal Bioscience Vol.26 No.8

A feeding trial was conducted in tilapia to determine the growth performance, nutrient digestibility, digestive enzymes, and postprandial blood metabolites in response to different dietary amylose-amylopectin ratios. Five isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets containing an equal starch level with different amylose-amylopectin ratios of 0.11 (diet 1), 0.24 (diet 2), 0.47 (diet 3), 0.76 (diet 4) and 0.98 (diet 5) were formulated using high-amylose corn starch (as the amylose source) and waxy rice (as the amylopectin source). Each diet was hand-fed to six tanks of 15 fish each, three times a day over a 6-wk period. After the growth trial, a postprandial blood metabolic test was carried out. Fish fed diet 2 exhibited the highest percent weight gain and feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio, whereas fish fed with diet 5 showed the lowest growth and feed utilization among treatments. The digestibility for starch in fish fed diet 1 and 2 was higher than those in fish fed with other diets (p<0.05). The highest activities for protease, lipase and amylase were found in fish fed the diet 2, diet 1, and diet 1 respectively among dietary treatments, while the lowest values for these indexes were observed in fish fed the diet 3, diet 5 and diet 4, respectively. The liver glycogen concentrations in fish fed diets 4 and 5 were found higher than in fish fed other diets (p<0.05). The feeding rate, hepatosomatic index, condition factor, and plasma parmeters (glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol) did not differ across treatments. In terms of postprandial blood responses, peak blood glucose and triglycerides were lower after 3 or 6 h in the fish fed with diets 3-5 than in the fish fed diet 1, but delayed peak blood total amino acid time was observed in fish fed with the diets 1 or 2. The lowest peak values for each of the three blood metabolites were observed in fish fed diet 5. The results indicate that high-dietary amylose-amylopectin ratio could compromise growth, but help in reducing the blood glucose stress on fish caused by postprandial starch load.
