In any rapid prototyping process, the layer by layer building process introduces an area error between the staircase and the surface line specified by the computer-aided design model. This affects the dimensional accuracy as well as the surface finish for different part build orientations. This paper describes a methodology for computing the area error for any orientation of the part built by the fused deposition modelling system. This technique can be applied to determine the best build orientation of the part, based on the minimum area error. This technique is verified by comparing the results with the experimental measurements of the area error of the parts built at different orientations.

In this study, a simulation model for the adsorption of bacteriophage T4 lysozyme onto hydrophilic silica surfaces has been investigated. The concentration-dependent adsorption mechanism has been analyzed with respect to an adsorption model that allows two different adsorbed states. By utilizing a pair of stability mutants of T4 lysozyme, the adsorption behavior was characterized in terms of two adsorption parameters, α and β. The adsorption parameters in the model were represented as a function of the adsorption time. The simulation results demonstrate that the estimated model parameters predict the adsorption kinetic data appropriately at all of the concentrations used.

Low-crystalline calcium phosphate (CaP) thin films were formed on silica glass surfaces by using quasi-saturated calcium and phosphate ionic solutions at 37℃. The silica glass surfaces were incubated at 37℃ for different periods of time to synthesize different types of CaP crystal films. An investigation on the effects that incubation time have on the chemical and physical properties of the synthesized CaP films was performed. The surface morphology of the synthesized CaP films displayed it to be highly porous. The surface roughness of the CaP films varied with incubation time, showing that the surface roughness increased rapidly during the initial stage of incubation but remained stationary during the later periods. X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis confirmed that the film consists of calcium and phosphorus and provided detailed information on the chemical composition of the CaP films. With an increase of the incubation time. the relative amounts of calcium and phosphorus (Ca/P ratio) increased, implying that the film thickness increased. The nature of the CaP film represented by the Ca/P ratio appeared to be similar to that of octacalcium phosphate at the initial stages of formation. During the later stages of incubation, the Ca/P ratio of the film decreased to create calcium-deficient nonstoichiometric CaP crystals. These results demonstrate that the properties of CaP films can be modulated by adjusting the incubation time. Because the prepared CaP film possessed a highly porous structure, the surface area is expected to increase, which may provide more chances for adhesion molecules to adsorb onto the CaP film.

The purpose of this study was to develop a curriculum for fostering movie workers systematically. And 3 step model was set up for developing a curriculum as follows: ① setting up career path and analyzing job requirements, ② organizing and developing a curriculum, ③ designing training courses. Above all, 28 jobs of 5 fields in moviemaking, including producing, directing, photographing, lighting, production designing, were drafted through conducting literature review and interviews with experts in moviemaking. Using 28 jobs in 5 fields, career paths were set up, and job analysis was conducted for each job. As a result of job analysis, 28 job models were identified. After identification, 4 levels of a curriculum were drafted. These included following levels: Beginner, Practitioner, Expert, Master. Contents of the curriculum were composed by grouping knowledge, skill, attitude of job models. General contents were organized into a fundamental curriculum, and specific contents Oil the fields were organized into a professional curriculum. Then modules and lessons were organized and designed for each curriculum. Consequently, 21 courses, 66 modules, and 172 lessons were developed, and examined through conducting interviews and professional workshop.
