<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Nanostructured pyropolymers contain significant amounts of redox-active heteroatoms, have high specific surface areas, and a defective carbon microstructure, indicating good potential for pseudocapacitive charge storage. In this study, nitrogen-enriched pyropolymer nanoparticles (N-PNs-50) are fabricated from polyaniline nanotubes through rapid pyrolysis at 50 °C min<SUP>−1</SUP>. N-PNs-50 exhibit a nitrogen content of 9.8 wt%, a high specific surface area of 875.8 m<SUP>2</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP>, and an amorphous carbon structure with an I<SUB> <I>D</I> </SUB>/I<SUB> <I>G</I> </SUB> intensity ratio of 0.95. These unique characteristics lead to good electrochemical performances, in which reversible capacities of 660 and 255 mAh g<SUP>−1</SUP> are achieved for Li-ion and Na-ion storage, respectively, with favorable voltage characteristics (<1.5 V for Li-ions and <1.2 V for Na-ions). 색상 측정 기기를 이용한 복합레진 적층 수복과 단일 수복의 색상 비교 분석

Objectives: This study analyzed the difference in color caused by different thickness in enamel layer of composite resins when applied with single and layering placement technique, and evaluated if the results agreed with the shade guide from the manufacturers to verify reliability of the color matching process of the manufacturers. Materials and Methods: For single composite resin samples, 6 mm diameter and 4 mm thickness cylindrical samples were fabricated using Ceram-X mono (DENTSPLY DeTrey) and CIE L*a*b* values were measured with spectrophotometer. Same process was done for layering compositie resin samples, making 3 dentinal shade samples, 4 mm thickness, for each shade using Ceram-X duo (DENTSPLY DeTrey) and enamel shade resins were layered in 2 mm thickness and CIE L*a*b* values were measured. These samples were ground to 0.2 mm thickness each time, and CIE L*a*b* values were measured to 1 mm thickness of enamel shade resin. Results: Color difference (△E*) between single and layering composite resin was 1.37 minimum and 10.53 maximum when layering thicknesses were between 1 mm and 2 mm and 6 out of 10 same shade groups suggested by manufacturer showed remarkable color difference at anythickness (△E* > 3.3). Conclusion: When using Ceram-X mono and duo for composite resin restoration, following the manufacturer's instructions for chossing the shade is not appropriate, and more accurate information for Ceram-X duo is needed on the variation and expression of the shades depending on the thickness of the enamel. Case Report : Leflunomide-induced Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis in a Patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Leflunomide was licensed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in 1998 and has been available in Korea since 2003. Allergic cutaneous reactions (rash, purpura) are common (<10%) side effects of leflunomide, but severe cases such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) or toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are rarely reported. There has not been a report of SJS or TEN induced by leflunomide in Korea. Here we report a case of leflunomide-induced TEN in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis. Leflunomide was discontinued, and the TEN was treated with methylprednisolone, cholestyramine and immunoglobulin. The skin lesion eventually resolved over four weeks with residual post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Background/Aims: The newly derived simplified magnetic resonance index of activity (MARIAs) has not been verified in comparison to balloon-assisted enteroscopy (BAE) for patients with small bowel Crohn’s disease (CD). We studied the correlation of MARIAs with simple endoscopic scores for CD (SES-CD) of the ileum based on magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) and BAE in patients with small bowel CD. Methods: Fifty patients with small bowel CD who underwent BAE and MRE concurrently within 3 months from September 2020 to June 2021 were enrolled in the study. The primary outcome was the correlation between the active score of ileal SES-CD (ileal SES-CDa)/ileal SES-CD and MARIAs based on BAE and MRE. The cutoff value for MARIAs identifying endoscopically active/severe disease, defined as ileal SES-CDa/ileal SES-CD of 5/7 or more, was analyzed. Results: Ileal SES-CDa/ileal SES-CD and MARIAs showed strong associations (R=0.76, p<0.001; R=0.78, p<0.001). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of MARIAs for ileal SES-CDa ≥5 and ileal SES-CD ≥7 was 0.92 (95% confidence interval, 0.88 to 0.97) and 0.92 (95% confidence interval, 0.87 to 0.97). The cutoff value of MARIAs for detecting active/severe disease was 3. A MARIAs index value of ≥3 identified ileal SES-CDa ≥5 with a sensitivity of 85% and specificity of 87% and detected ileal SES-CD ≥7 with a sensitivity of 87% and specificity of 86%. Conclusions: This study validated the applicability of MARIAs compared to BAE-based ileal SES-CDa/SES-CD.
십대출산기혼모의 부모됨에 관한 질적 연구: 지지적 관계를 통한 적응과 성숙을 중심으로

이 연구는 십대출산기혼모의 부모됨 경험과 그 과정에서 나타난 다양한 지지적 관계의 역할, 십대출산기혼모의 적응과 성숙의 가능성에 대해 밝히고자 하는 목적에서 수행되었다. 온라인 커뮤니티를 통해 전국에서 십대에 임신과 출산을 경험하였으며 아이의 친부와 혼인한 여성 17명을 모집하여 일대일 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 Strauss(1987)의 `개방적 코딩`, `중추적 코딩`, `선택적 코딩` 방법을 사용하여 분석하였으며, `참여자 검토` 과정을 통해 연구결과의 신뢰도를 확보하고자 노력하였다. 이 연구에서는 십대 양육모의 적응에 영향을 미치는 사회적 지지로서 원가족과 배우자, 자조모임에 초점을 두고 자료를 분석하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 십대 청소년의 임신이 출산과 양육, 혼인으로 이어지도록 하는 데 결정적인 영향을 끼친 것은 아이의 친부의 임신에 반응과 대처였으며, 아이의 친부가 부모됨의 과정에서 가장 큰 지지원으로 나타났다. 또한 원가족이 적극적으로 지지를 제공할수록 청소년 부모의 적응과 성숙에 큰 도움이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 온라인 커뮤니티를 통한 자조모임도 십대출산기혼모의 지지원인 것으로 나타났다. 연구 참여자들은 이와 같은 지지적 관계를 통해 자신의 삶과 새로운 가족에 적응하였으며, 자신의 삶에 만족하고 미래를 낙관적으로 평가하고 있음을 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구는 십대 청소년의 부모됨이 원가족, 배우자와의 지지적 관계를 확립한다면 적응적 이고 성숙된 삶으로 이어질 수 있음을 발견하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 온라인을 통한 또래 양육모 자조모임이 십대 양육모에게 중요한 지지원임을 발견한 것도 의의가 있다. 이를 통해 십대 양육모에 대한 시각을 전환할 필요성이 드러났으며, 적응을 돕기 위해서는 다양한 지지 체계를 통합적으로 포함하는 복지 프로그램이 제공되어야 함을 알 수 있었다. The purpose of this research was to discover the experiences as a teenage mother, the role of diverse support, and the possibility of adaptation and maturity. The participants were 17 married mothers who gave birth to a baby at teenage and they were recruited through online communities. One-to-one in depth interview was performed in nine cities, South Korea. We analyzed interview data by focusing on social support from which a married teenage mother could obtain; family of origin, a spouse, self-help group. Result showed that spouse`s response and reaction had a decisive effect on leading a teenage mother`s pregnancy to childbirth, parenting and marriage. The spouse`s support was the greatest source for participants in experience of being a parent. The support from family of origin was also an important factor. The more they receive support, the better participants adjust to their lives. In addition, self-help group through online communities was another important supporting factor for them. From those support, participants finally became well-adapted to their new lives and new families, and were satisfied with their lives with a positive outlook toward their future. The result revealed that being a teenage mother can lead to adaptive and mature life if they establish a healthy relationship with their family of origin and spouse. More importantly, the online self-help plays a great role in adaptation for a teenage mother. This research emphasizes the necessity of changing views toward teenage parenthood and an integrated social program in diverse support systems.
실내배양에서 납작돌잎(Lithopyllum yessoense)과 진분홍딱지(Hildenbrandia rubra)의 배아 생장에 미치는 환경요인의 영향

The effects of environmental factors, such as irradiance, daylength, salinity, and desiccation, on the growth of Lithophyllum yessoense and Hildenbrandia rubra sporelings were examined. Sporelings of each species were cultured with 10, 50, 80, 120, 150μmol photon m-2 s-1 for 14 days and their maximum growth occurred under 80 μmol photon m-2 s-1. Germlings of both species survived for 21 days in darkness, and even the L.yessoense germlings grew. In the salinity experiment, sporelings of each species survived for 7 days and died after 14 days under 20 and 25 psu, but the sporelings grew well under 34 psu. Physiological features of each species with respect to the evaluated daylengths (8, 12, 14 and 16 h) were slightly different, and maximal growth occurred at 16 h for L. yessoense and at 14 h for H. rubra sporelings. Mortality of the sporelings increased with the exposure period, but H. rubra was less tolerant to desiccation than L. yessoense. In conclusion, sporelings of the two species showed similar growth responses to various environmental factors with slightly different physiological features with respect to salinity, daylength, and desiccation. However, more ecological and physiological studies on slow-growing crustose algae are required to elucidate the expansion of barren ground around the coastal areas of Korea.
미취학 아동의 칫솔질 교육에 따른 치아우식원인균 감소와 구강위생상태 변화

Objectives: This study was conducted to reveal the biological basis of dental plaque and preschool children’s dental health status through repetitive and continuous toothbrushing instruction to preschool children, using quantitative criteria, and to emphasize the importance of the role of an oral health manager for the prevention of dental caries. Methods: After IRB approval, toothbrushing instruction and oral microbial specimen collection were conducted with children of preschool age at the Daycare Center attached to D. University, Busan. Specimens from 27 children were characterized by analysis with real-time multi-chain enzymatic polymerization reaction technique at an agency specializing in genetic analysis. Results: In a survey of the children’s dental health behaviors, 48.1% responded that the toothbrushing time is 91 to 150 seconds; 66.7% responded that the frequency of toothbrushing is more than three times per day; 81.5% stated that they performed tongue brushing; and 81.5% brushed their teeth. Regarding levels of dental cariogenic bacteria, after children received continuous toothbrushing instruction, there were reductions in both Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sobrinus. Regarding toothbrushing time, the time increased in relation to the presence of instruction. Regarding Quigley Hein Index, the index decreased in the early and middle periods upon addition of instruction, then increased in the middle and later periods. Conclusions: Through persistent and repetitive toothbrushing instruction, healthy behavior can be positively established in children of preschool age; it is necessary to prepare institutional measures so opportunities for dental health education can be consistently provided and maintained. In the future, it will be necessary to conduct a follow-up study to verify the factors affecting toothbrushing time and volume of oral pathogens.
