      • Outbound Open Innovation for Enhanced Innovation Performance : An Empirical Study based on BTB Enterprises in China

        Huan-Yong Ji,Jing Li,Chong-Feng Lan,Dan-Feng, Wang,Yong-Sheng Jin 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.9 No.5

Open Innovation gains a wide spread attention in technology management research in recent years. Because existing research about the relationship between outbound open innovation and innovation performance is limited and context factors are ignored in existing research and based on Chesbrough’s open innovation model and theory of enterprise competence, this study introduces enterprise competence and knowledge spillovers into the field of outbound open innovation, explores their moderated roles between open innovation and innovation performance. We use high-tech firms as research sample to test the hypothesis that we proposed and find that: (1) outbound open innovation has a positive effect on innovation performance; (2) both enterprise competence and knowledge spillovers moderate the relationship between outbound open innovation and innovation performance. These conclusions have important implications for the development and application of open innovation theory.

Ginsenoside Rg5 overcomes chemotherapeutic multidrug resistance mediated by ABCB1 transporter: in vitro and in vivo study

        Feng, Sen-Ling,Luo, Hai-Bin,Cai, Liang,Zhang, Jie,Wang, Dan,Chen, Ying-Jiang,Zhan, Huan-Xing,Jiang, Zhi-Hong,Xie, Ying The Korean Society of Ginseng 2020 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.44 No.2

Background: Multidrug resistance (MDR) to chemotherapy drugs remains a major challenge in clinical cancer treatment. Here we investigated whether and how ginsenoside Rg5 overcomes the MDR mediated by ABCB1 transporter in vitro and in vivo. Methods: Cytotoxicity and colon formation as well as the intracellular accumulation of ABCB1 substrates were carried out in MDR cancer cells A2780/T and A549/T for evaluating the reversal effects of Rg5. The expressions of ABCB1 and Nrf2/AKT pathway were determined by Western blotting. An A549/T cell xenograft model was established to investigate the MDR reversal activity of Rg5 in vivo. Results: Rg5 significantly reversed ABCB1-mediated MDR by increasing the intracellular accumulation of ABCB1 substrates without altering protein expression of ABCB1. Moreover, Rg5 activated ABCB1 ATPase and reduced verapamil-stimulated ATPase activity, suggesting a high affinity of Rg5 to ABCB1 binding site which was further demonstrated by molecular docking analysis. In addition, co-treatment of Rg5 and docetaxel (TXT) suppressed the expression of Nrf2 and phosphorylation of AKT, indicating that sensitizing effect of Rg5 associated with AKT/Nrf2 pathway. In nude mice bearing A549/T tumor, Rg5 and TXT treatment significantly suppressed the growth of drug-resistant tumors without increase in toxicity when compared to TXT given alone at same dose. Conclusion: Therefore, combination therapy of Rg5 and chemotherapy drugs is a strategy for the adjuvant chemotherapy, which encourages further pharmacokinetic and clinical studies.

Recursive Identification Algorithms for a Class of Linear Closed-loop Systems

        Huan Xu,Feng Ding,Ahmed Alsaedi,Tasawar Hayat 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.12

This paper focuses on the identification problems for a class of linear closed-loop systems. On one hand, the identifiability condition is investigated for the case where the controller is in series with the plant on the forward channel. On the other hand, the identification model is derived after parametrization, in which the parameter vector only contains the parameters of the controlled plant instead of the whole closed-loop system, and a recursive least squares algorithm and a stochastic gradient algorithm are proposed for closed-loop systems. In order to improve the parameter estimation accuracy, a forgetting factor and a convergence index are introduced into the proposed stochastic gradient algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Processing, microstructure and mechanical properties of porous silicon nitride by a slip casting method using petroleum coke as pore former

        Huan-Rui Wang,Ji-Qiang Gao,Fang-Li Yu,Yuan Li,Jian-Feng Yang 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2009 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.10 No.6

In this study, porous Si3N4 ceramics were obtained by a slip casting method which would be easier applied in industry. The most stable and dispersing aqueous suspension was obtained from a solid slurry content of 56.2%, a carboxymethyl cellulose concentration of 0.3% as the adhesive and 0.05% glycerol as the defoamer. Petroleum coke was used as pore-former, and at the same time, it was helpful for the stability of the suspension. The burning-out of the petroleum coke seemed to be an economical way for increasing the porosity of porous Si3N4. After sintering at 1,800℃ for 2 h, samples with a pore size about 10 μm, porosities of 45-60%, and flexural strength of 52.0-112.1MPa were obtained. Effect of Monascus sp. as an Adjunct Starter on Physicochemical Properties and Proteolysis in Semi-hard Cheeses during Ripening

        Huaning Yu,Zhenmin Liu,Feng Hang,Beihong Mo 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.3

Two kinds of semi-hard cheeses, with Monascus purpureus and without M. purpureus, were manufactured, and effects of M. purpureus on physicochemical properties and proteolysis were evaluated during 36 days of ripening. Addition of M. purpureus changed the microbial survival and showed no significant effect on physicochemical properties of the cheeses, including dry matter and pH. Regardless on the rind or in the core, the indices of proteolysis had no significant difference (p>0.05), whereas there were significant differences of total free amino acid (FAA) and individual FAA between cheeses; this indicated that M. purpureus had no significant effect on the primary proteolysis, but affected the content and ratio of individual FAAs during maturation. Electrophoretic analysis showed strong degradation of αs1-casein in the core and on the rind of cheeses, while β-casein was highly degraded on the rind but less in the core. Thus, Monascus spp. might have a potential application in the manufacture of cheeses.

Effect of Oxidation on the Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior of Z3CN20.09M Duplex Stainless Steel in High Temperature Water

Huan Chun Wu,Bin Yang,Yue Feng Chen,Xu Dong Chen 한국원자력학회 2017 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.49 No.4

The fatigue crack propagation behaviors of Z3CN20.09M duplex stainless steel (DSS) were investigated by studying oxide films of specimens tested in 290℃ water and air. The results indicate that a full oxide film that consisted of oxides and hydroxides was formed in 290℃ water. By contrast, only a half-baked oxide film consisting of oxides was formed in 290℃ air. Both environments are able to deteriorate the elastic modulus and hardness of the oxide films, especially the 290℃ water. The fatigue lives of the specimens tested in 290℃ air were about twice of those tested in 290℃ water at all strain amplitudes. Moreover, the crack propagation rates of the specimen tested in 290℃ water were confirmed to be faster than those tested in 290℃ air, which was thought to be due to the deteriorative strength of the oxide films induced by the mutual promotion of oxidation and crack propagation at the crack tip. It is noteworthy that the crack propagation can be postponed by the ferrite phase in the DSS, especially when the specimens were tested in 290℃ water.

      • Expression and Clinical Significance of Osteopontin in Calcified Breast Tissue

        Huan, Jin-Liang,Xing, Li,Qin, Xian-Ju,Gao, Zhi-Guang,Pan, Xiao-Feng,Zhao, Zhi-Dong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.10

Osteopontin (OPN) is an integrin-binding protein, believed to be involved in a variety of physiological cellular functions. The physiology of OPN is best documented in the bone where this secreted adhesive glycoprotein appears to be involved in osteoblast differentiation and bone formation. In our study, we used semi-quantitative RT-PCR of osteopontin in calcification tissue of breast to detect breast cancer metastasis. The obtained data indicate that the expression of osteopontin is related to calcification tissue of breast, and possibly with the incidence of breast cancer. The expression strength of OPN by RT-PCR detection was related to the degree of malignancy of breast lesions, suggesting a close relationship between OPN and breast calcification tissue. The results revealed that expression of OPN mRNA is related to calcification of breast cancer tissue and to the development of breast cancer. Determination of OPN mRNA expression can be expected to be a guide to clinical therapy and prediction of the prognosis of breast cancer patients.

      • The Influence of Transformational Leadership on Top Management’s Behavioral Integration and Organizational Ambidexterity in Dynamic Environment—An Empirical Study based on E-commerce Enterprises in China

        Huan-Yong Ji,Yong-Sheng Jin,Jing Li,Hui Tian,Shang-Zheng Feng 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.8 No.11

As market competition continuously intensifies, how to cope with existing and potential market challenges in complex, dynamic environments is a major problem haunting Chinese e-commerce enterprises in their strategic planning. In order to solve this problem, the theory of organizational ambidexterity is applied in this paper to the strategic practices of Chinese e-commerce enterprises, and starting from the view of corporate leadership, the mediated role of top management’s behavioral integration (referred to as TMBI in the following content) in the relationship between transformational leadership behavior and organizational ambidexterity is discussed. In addition, against the practical background that Chinese e-commerce enterprises are facing highly competitive environments, further clarification is made herein by using environmental dynamics as the moderator variable for the mediated link. Through empirical tests on 198 samples of Chinese e-commerce enterprises, we find that: 1) transformational leadership has a positive influence on organizational ambidexterity, and TMBI plays a full mediated role in that influencing process; 2) environmental dynamics moderates the relationship between transformational leadership and TMBI, but don’t have a moderated effect on the relationship between TMBI and organizational ambidexterity. According to the research conclusion in this paper, the mechanism of transformational leadership influencing organizational ambidexterity can be better explained when two important factors, TMBI and environmental dynamics, are taken into consideration. The research in this paper provides not only important revelations for the development of organizational ambidexterity research as well as the application of relevant research achievements, but also supports for Chinese e-commerce enterprises’ effective strategic practices in theory.

Toxicarioside N induces apoptosis in human gastric cancer SGC- 7901 cell by activating the p38MAPK pathway

        Huan-ge Zhao,Song-lin Zhou,Ying-ying Lin,Hao Fu Dai,Feng-Ying Huang 대한약학회 2018 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.41 No.1

Natural plant compounds with potent proliferationinhibition and apoptosis induction properties havebeen screened as novel anticancer drugs. Toxicarioside N(Tox N) was isolated from the seeds of the tropical plantAntiaris toxicaria in Hainan province, China. To ourknowledge, the effects that Tox N has on the apoptosis ofSGC-7901 cells and its potential mechanism have neverbeen investigated. In this study, we detected the anticanceractivities of Tox N and explored the potential mechanismin the human gastrointestinal cancer cell line SGC-7901. Here, we found that Tox N inhibited SGC-7901 cell growthin a dose- and time-dependent manner and induced apoptosisin cells based on cell morphology and flow cytometryanalyses. Additionally, the SGC-7901 cell treated with ToxN up-regulated the expression level of cleaved caspase-3/9and PARP, increased the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio, and led to therelease of cytochrome c into the cytoplasm. In addition,Tox N treatment led to the phosphorylation of p38MAPK. SB203580, a p38MAPK inhibitor, partially attenuated ToxN induced apoptosis by preventing the activation of caspase-3/9 and PARP. Our results indicated for the first timethat Tox N can induce SGC-7901 cells apoptosis by activatingthe p38MAPK pathway.

Autophagy plays a protective role against apoptosis induced by toxicarioside N via the Akt/mTOR pathway in human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells

        Huan-ge Zhao,Song-lin Zhou,Ying-ying Lin,Hua Wang,Hao Fu Dai,Feng-Ying Huang 대한약학회 2018 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.41 No.10

Toxicarioside N (Tox N), a natural product extract from Antiaris toxicaria, has been reported to induce apoptosis in human gastric cancer cells. However, the mechanism and actual role of autophagy in Tox N-induced apoptosis of human gastric cancer cells remains poorly understood. In the current study, we demonstrated that Tox N could induce autophagy by inhibiting the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway in SGC-7901 cells. Moreover, we found that the inhibition of autophagy by 3-methyladenine, an autophagy inhibitor, enhanced Tox N-induced apoptotic cell death. However, the stimulation of autophagy by rapamycin, an autophagy activator, remarkably suppressed Tox N-induced apoptosis, suggesting that autophagy plays a protective role in Tox N-induced apoptosis. Thus, the results from this study suggested that Tox N combination with an autophagy inhibitor might be a promising strategy to enhance the anticancer activity of Tox N for the treatment of human gastric cancer.
