      • 大邱市民의 牛乳消費實態와 仁識度

        This survey is for getting references to establish a plan for increasing milk demands and the improvement of dairy hygiene by studing the amount of milk consumption, tendency of milk consumers and the recognition of milk in Daegu City. One hundred eighteen thousand and three hundred seventy four homes of pupils who are attending the elementary school in Daegu-City were surveyed for milk consumed or not and 1,280 homes consumed milk and 1,561 homes, non-drinking milk were studied from September 28, 1977 to October 10, 1977 as follows: 1) The annual consumption of milk is 11,497M/T, 4.65% of 247,000M/T national milk production. And dairy cattles fed in Daegu area are 4,752, 4.13% of 115,000 heads fed in Korea. 2) Daily consumption milk is 31,000㎏ and a shortage of 5,000㎏ arose in the summer while there was a 8,000-9,000㎏ over abundance in the winter. 3) Home delivered milk for 118,374 homes that have pupils was 10,560, 8.92%. 4) According to monthly income, 29.7% of 1,280 homes delivered milk was less than 100,000 Won for monthly earnings, and 43.7% for 1,561 homes not delivered milk was less than 1000,000Won for monthly earnings. The number of homes that were not delivered milk was two times as much as home consumed milk. 5) Depending on housewife's school career, middle school graduates were 33.0%, high school 66.9% while among homes that had not consumed milk, 46.37% housewife attended middle school and 49.6% high school. 6) If the price is lower than now, homes requiring more milk was 84.6% but childrens high school year. And if it was low price, 88.4% homes wanted to begin drinking milk, 35.43% by their children's high school year. This indicates that an increasing number of homes required milk. 7) The consumption of 2 bottles (360㎖) or more per homes is 79.69% and one bottle (180㎖) per home is 20.31%. 8) Homs delivered for one year more were 75.7% and less than one year 34.6%. 9) Delivered milk placed in refrigerators was 69% and others 31.4%. People who drank cold milk was 81.56% and hot milk were 18.44% 10) Milk price delivered was: A high of 45.94% and a low of 2.97% and a reasonable 51.09%. 11) The reasons for drinking milk were: Weakened body 49.6%, taste 18.04%, and instead of a rice meal 31.02%. 12) The physical effects after drinking were: Good 65.47%, bad 0.5%. 13) Homes which liked to have delivered milk in the morning were 85.31% and daily 97.19%. 14) Milk quality was: Good 27.89% and normal or of poor grade 72.8%. 15) Milk delivery systems were: Good 65.31% and not good 29.65%. 16) The mainreason for not drinking milk taste 20.88%, Yogurt used instead 20.50%, and powdered milk used instead 22.74%, and unwholesome milk 16.02%.

        This paper outlines the means of expressing a spatio temporal synchronization model which allows multimedia data to be processed and translated in terms of time and space. Aptly named an Assertion-based Multimedia objects Spatio-TEmporal Synchronization model(AMSTES), it will provide a means of representing all the objects present in space and time, and furthemore, will use the representations to produce an executable code via a spatio temporal formula. In essence, AMSTES aims to define spatial and temporal concepts using assertions in a game scenario sketch, and aptly express a spatio-temporal synchronization model.

        A vibration monitoring is performed on a 1kW class stand alone wind turbine(W/T). When a W/T model is developed, general performance under various wind condition should be verified to introduce the product in the market. Especially, vibration characteristics within operating speed range are very important in the aspect of structural stability as well as generator's electrical efficiency. This paper examines the vibration performance of a home made 1kW W/T. Various data of the W/T model are acquired in real time using a remote vibration monitoring system installed in Daekwanryung test site. Vibration stability of the W/T structure is diagnosed based upon the data and the result is used to estimate the applicability of the W/T model.

        6kW 독립형 풍력발전기의 진동 모니터링 및 분석

        A vibration monitoring system for a small class of wind turbine (W/T) is established and operated. The monitoring system consists of monolithic integrated chip accelerometer for vibration monitoring, anemometers for wind data acquisition and auxiliary sensors for atmospheric data. Using the monitoring system, vibration response of a 6kW W/T generator is investigated. Acceleration data of the W/T tower under various operation condition is acquired in real time using LabVIEW and is remotely transferred from the test site to the laboratory in school by internet. Vibration state of the tower structure is diagnosed within the operating speed range. Resonance frequency range of the test model is investigated with the wind speed data of the test site.

        The influence of adjuvant radiotherapy on patterns of failure and survivals in uterine carcinosarcoma

        Purpose: To evaluate the impact of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) on patterns of failure and survivals in uterine carcinosarcoma patients treated with radical surgery. Materials and Methods: Between October 1998 and August 2010, 19 patients with stage I-III uterine carcinosarcoma received curative hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy with or without PORT at Seoul National University Hospital. Their hospital medical records were retrospectively reviewed. PORT and non-PORT groups included 11 and 8 patients, respectively. They were followed for a mean of 22.7 months (range, 7.8 to 126.6 months). Results: At 5 years, the overall survival rates were 51.9% for entire, 61.4% for PORT, and 41.7% for non-PORT groups, respectively. There was no statistical difference between PORT and non-PORT groups with regard to overall survival (p = 0.682). Seven out of 19 (36.8%) patients showed treatment failures, which all happened within 12 months. Although the predominant failures were distant metastasis in PORT group and loco-regional recurrence in non-PORT group, there was no statistically significant difference in locoregional recurrence-free survival (LRRFS) (p = 0.362) or distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS) (p = 0.548). Lymph node metastasis was found to be a significant prognostic factor in predicting poor LRRFS (p = 0.013) and DMFS (p = 0.021), while the International Federation Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage (p = 0.043) was associated with LRRFS. Conclusion: Considering that adjuvant radiotherapy after surgical resection was effective to decrease loco-regional recurrence and most treatment failures were distant metastasis, multimodal therapy including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy might be an optimal treatment for uterine carcinosarcoma patients.

        Case Report : Ultrasound-Assisted Mental Nerve Block and Pulsed Radiofrequency Treatment for Intractable Postherpetic Neuralgia; Three Case Studies

        Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is one of the most difficult pain syndromes to treat. Invasive treatments may be considered when patients fail to obtain adequate pain relief from noninvasive treatment approaches. Here, we present three cases of PHN in the mandibular branch treated with ultrasound-assisted mental nerve block and pulsed radiofrequency treatment. None of the patients had adequate pain relief from the medical therapy, so we performed the mental nerve block on the affected side under ultrasound assistance. Two patients showed satisfactory pain relief continuously over 12 months without any further interventions, whereas one patient only had short-term pain relief. For the patient had short-term pain relief we performed pulsed radiofrequency treatment (PRFT) on the left mental nerve under ultrasound assistance. After PRFT, the patient had adequate pain relief for 6 months and there was no need for further management. (Korean J Pain 2014; 27: 81-85)

        전신마취 시 사용한 열선내장형 가온 가습 호흡회로의 비교평가

        Background: Dry and cold anesthetic gas deteriorates patient`s respiratory function and body heat balance. We examined whether a humidifier with heated wire circuit might maintain core temperature and humidity of inspired gas in patient undergoing general anesthesia. Methods: We enrolled forty ASA physical status I, II patients under general anesthesia for this study. We allocated the patients randomly into two groups with (experimental group) or without (control group) Humitube(R) anesthesia circuit, which delivered heated and humidified inspired anesthetic gases. We recorded the temperatures and humidity of the inspired gases throughout the surgery. Results: The temperatures and relative humidity of the inspired gases in experimental group were significantly greater compared to control group (36.2±0.9℃, 89.5±4.8% vs. 30.4±1.8℃, 37.9±5.9%, P<0.05) during anesthesia. The core temperatures in experimental group were significantly greater compared to control group (36.1±0.3℃ vs. 35.7±0.1℃, P<0.05) during anesthesia. Conclusions: A humidifier with heated wire system for anesthesia breathing circuit is helpful to maintain core temperature and adequate humidity. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2009; 57: 32~7)
