      • 위성자료로부터 추정된 대기의 열적 상태: 전지구의 온도경향

        1980-88년의 9년동안 지구 및 한반도 평균온도의 증감경향을 조사하기 위하여 NOAA위성에 탑재된 MSU복사계로 측정된 채널1(Ch1, 50.3GHz)과 채널2(Ch2, 53.74GHz) 밝기온도(brightness temperature) 관측자료의 월평균 편차값을 사용하였다. 위성계열(series)간에 관측시각차로 발생하는 온도차의 문제를 해결하기 위하여, 두위성이 함께 관측한 기간의 자료를 상호 비교한 후에 그 차를 NOAA-6에 대하여 보정하였다. 관측자료를 북반구, 남반구, 전구에 대하여 각각 해양, 육지, 해양및 육지에서의 밝기 온도로 분류하여 108개월에 대한 월평균 밝기온도, 그리고 9년 동안의 각 월별 평균에 대한 편차를 계산하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 채널 2편차는 전구 및 반구 온도경향에 있어서 Spencer and Christy(1990)의 결과와 높은 상관(0.8-0.9)을 보였다. 그러나 본 연구 결과는 전구의 경우 온도계로 관측된 지상 온도 편차와는 다소 낮은 상관(0.7)을 보였다 이것은 해상이나 산악 같은 지역에서의 지표 관측자료의 부족, 그리고 주로 구름및 강수에 의한 열대 해양에서의 지표와 중간 대류권 온도 사이의 약한 결합 때문인 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구결과에 의하면, 전구 기온상승0.2℃/9yr이었고, 이러한 경향은 IPCC(1992)와 Kerr(1991)과 같은 다른 독립적인 관측 결과와 잘 일치하였다. 이러한 온난화 경향은 0.35℃/9yr를 보인 남반구 해양에서 가장 강하게 나타남으로써 도시화와 산업화에 따른 지역적인 요소보다는 전구 시스템 변화에 따른 요소가 더 지배적임을 보였다. 가장 온난했던 해는 1987, 1988, 1983년 순이었고, 반면에 가장 한랭했던 해는 1984년과 1985년이었다. 한편 한반도 부근의 채널 2편차는 서울의 지상온도 편차와 유의적인 상관(0.5)를 보였다. 9년 기간에 대한 채널 1의 전구 온도증감 경향은 채널 2와 비교적 높은 상관(0.7)을 보였으며, 이러한 경향은 북반구 육지에서 뚜렷하였다(0.9). 채널 1에서 가장 온난했던 해는 1983, 1981, 1987년 순이었고, 반면에 가장 한랭했던 해는 1984, 1985년이었다. 결과적으로, 채널1과 채널 2의 온도 증감경향은 1982-83년, 그리고 1986-87년에 있었던 두 엘니뇨 현상을 잘 반영하였다. 가능한 온실기체에 의한 온난화의 감시, 기후연구를 위한 수치모델의 평가, 그리고 기후변동에 대한 체계적인 이해를 위하여 전구기온값을 좀더 정확히 평가하는 것이 필요하다. Montyly mean brightness temperature(T₁) anomalies at nadir which have been derived from the channel1 at 50.3 GHz and channel 2 at 53.74 GHz of the microwave sounding unit(MSU) on board NOAA satellites are examined for the global and hemispheric thermal trends, and for local trends over Korean Peninsula during the 9 years of 1980-88. To make the intersatellite correction for temperature differences due to different solar times of the morning and afternoon orbits, anomalies from different satellites were compared during the periods of overlap between satellites to find the time-averaged in the following three zones; ocean, land and both ocean and land. A good agreement in the channel 2 brightness temperature(T₂) anomalies between this study and Spencer and Christy(1990) is found in the global and hemispheric trends with correlation coefficient r=0.8-0.9. However, comparisons between monthly T₂ anomalies and corresponding thermometer-measured anomalies for the global reveal a little lower correlation (0.7). This may result from both poor thermometer sampling of remote regions and weak coupling of surface and mid-tropospheric temperature anomalies in tropical ocean areas due to mainly hydrometeors. Analysis of the 9 years of T₂anomalies in this study indicates a global warming of 0.2℃/9yr, consistent with independent results of IPCC(1992) and Kerr(1991), particularly showing strong warming of 0.35℃/9yr in the southern hemispheric ocean. The warmest years were 1987, 1988 and 1983 indescending order, while the years 1984 and 1985 were the coolest. In the meantime, the significant correlation(0.5) between T₂ anomalies near Korean Peninsula and thermometer-measured anomalies in Seoul has been obtained. Global T₁ trend for the same period generally agrees with that of T₂(r=0.7), showing a higher correlation (0.8) over northern hemispheric land. Here the warmest years were 1983, 1981, and 1987, while the years 1984 and 1985 were the coolest. The thermal trends in both T¹and T₂ anomalies responded well to two major El Nino events for 1982-83 and 1986-87. It is necessary for global atmospheric temperatures estimates to be accurate for monitoring of possible greenhouse warning, evaluation of numberical model for climate studies, and for systematic understaning of climate change.

      • VOCs의 光觸媒處理에 관한 硏究

        This study has been carried out to observe photodegradation efficieny of TCE with the variation of IN irradiation strength, liquid thickness and immobilized TiO₂. The results are summarized as fallows; 1. Without photocatalyst, the TCE removal efficiency was observed to be about 15% with UV irradiation. 2. Above 93% of TCE were mineralized by immobilized TiO₂on glass panel(5g, 500℃) and UV irradiation. The photodegradation efficiency increased with increasing UV lamp numbers and reaction rate increased with increasing TCE initial concentration. 3. The photodegradation efficiency decreased with increasing the liquid thickness and above 96% of TCE were removed with using 3 UV lamps and liquid thickness less than 6cm.

      • 반건식-백필터에 의한 소각배가스 중의 HCI, SOx 제거 (Ⅰ)

        This study has been carried out to investigate the removal efficiencies of HCl/SOx in a Spray-Dryer/Fabric-Filter system. In HCl/SOx removal, we could identify the key factors such as spray dryer outlet temperature, molar equivalence ratio(MER) and fabric filter velocity, but we couldn't find out the correlation of HCl and SOx. The removals of HCl/SOx were inversely proportional to spray dryer outlet temperature(l30~170℃) and filter velocity(l.0~1.5 m/min), at the MER, HCl removal efficiency was strongly proportional to MER, but SOx, removal efficiency was not particularly increased by MER over 1.5. The removal efficiencies of HCl/SOx were improved over 10% at the fabric filter. In this Spray-Dryer/Fabric-Filter system, HCl/SOx removal efficiencies were about 99%, 96% respectively.

      • P024 : Autologous and allogeneic fibroblasts transplantation study in the diabetic mouse ulcer healing

        Background: The concept of induced pluripotent stem cells ( IPS) might suggest that genetically programmed or modified somatic cells such as IPS from somatic cells or somatic cells themselves as lipocytes, fibroblasts could be another source of cell therapy, especially in the poor diabetic wound healing. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness about the autologous fibroblasts of diabetic mouse themselves as a alternatives of complex stem cell transplantation therapy. Methods: We chose diabetic wound model as a chronic nonhealing wound. We sampled and cultured dermal fibroblasts from each diabetic mouse. After 3rd passage of cell culture, each pellet of fibroblasts cultured autologously was transplanted into each wound of diabetic mouse themselves. Results: Wound healing of autologous diabetic dermal fibroblast-transplanted group showed better wound healing than that of allogeneic normal fibroblast-transplanted group. Induced diabetic dermal tissues showed similar growth factor activity with previously normal conditions. Immunohistochemical and real-time PCR about TGF-β and VEGF also showed better wound healing for the autologous wound group than that of the allogeneic normal fibroblasts cell transplanted group with statistical significance. Conclusion: Autologously cultured and transplanted wounds were seemed to show better healing in clinical, histochemical, immunohistochemical (TGF-beta, VEGF) and quantitative assays (TGF-beta, VEGF for the RT-PCR). Furthermore, diabetic fibroblasts can be expected to show similar effectiveness with normal conditions.

        A Simple Dual-Antenna Diversity Gain Measurement System at 2.4GHz

        A simple measurement system is built to estimate the dual-antenna diversity gain at 2.4GHz easily in open lab environment. To obtain multipath fading propagation channel, the system consists of two transmission horn that placed on opposite direction and a rotating stage mechanically changing the position of test dual-antenna with time over distance greater than one wavelength. Estimated diversity is nearly same as theoretical value such that measured diversity gain of 30mm separated is about 6dB similar to theoretical value of 5.7dB and increases monotonically with the increasing separation distance as predicted by the theory. Proposed measurement system that is simple enough to fit in a small space can evaluate the performance of various dual-antennas with a reasonable accuracy with lower 5% difference between the ten sets of measured waveform distribution and theoretical Rayleigh cumulative distribution.

      • A case of iatrogenic kaposi sarcoma due to herbal medicine

        Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is an angioproliferative tumor associated with the infection of human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8). Whether KS is a reactive proliferative disorder or a true malignancy is yet to be studied and controversial, but at present most evidences including histopathological and serological evidences suggest that it is closer to the former. A 65-year-old woman presented with multiple, firm, purplish to blackish papules and nodules on both lower extremities for 3 months. She was admitted to the endocrinology for adrenal insufficiency after 4 months of taking herbal medicines. She had a past history of diabetes mellitus and with the clinical history, the suggesting diagnosis was an ‘iatrogenic’ adrenal insufficiency. She also had other clinical features such as moon face, herpes virus infection signs on the Rt. eyebrow and the Rt. flank area, tinea corporis on the Rt. Axilla and multiple abscesses on the buttocks and the thighs, most of which showed that she was likely to be in immunosuppressed state. These findings led to the suspicion that the herbal medicine contained steroids. Histopathologic findings showed spindle cell proliferation with slit like vascular proliferation and the additional immunohistochemical stain for HHV-8 was positive. The patient was serologically negative for HIV. With the clinical and histologic findings, the diagnosis of iatrogenic KS induced by herbal medicine was made.
