        중국 연변 조선족자치주 성인과 한국 구리지역 성인의 식생활 양식 비교

        This study was conducted to investigate dietary patterns and assimilation of dietary culture of Korean descendants in Yanbian, China compared to Korean. A dietary survey was conducted using one 24-hour recall method from 730 adults over 30 years of age in Yanbian, China and 695 adults over 25 years of age in Kuri, Korea. The average number of food items consumed per day was 14 in Yanbian and 20 in Kuri and there was a significant difference between the two regions(p<0.001). The foods consumed most frequently were rice, salt, the M.S.G. in Yanbian and rice, green onion and garlic in Kuri. The foods consumed most by amount were rice, cucumber, Soju in Yanbian and rice, Kimchi and grape in Kuri. The average number of dishes consumed per day was 6.4 in Yanbian, 9.4 in Kuri and the difference between the two regions was significant(p<0.001). Total number of dishes appeared in the survey was 253 in Yanbian and 494 in Kuri. The dishes consumed most frequently were cooked-rice, beverages, Kimchi, stir-fried eggplant in Yanbian and cooked-rice, Kimchi, coffee, soybean paste stew, in Kuri. The dish groups appeared most frequently were rice, stir-fried foods, vegetables and Kimchi in Yanbian and rice, Kimchi, beverages and fruits in Kuri. Male subjects in Yanbian Consumed alcohol frequently while adults in Kuri consumed coffee more frequently than Yanbian. The major meal patterns were rice+side dish, rice+soup, rice+side dish+Kimchi in Yanbian and rice+soup+side dish+Kimchi, rice+side dish+Kimchi, rice+soup+Kimchi in Kuri. Stir-fried foods, which were consumed 46.6% of all the meals, were dominant side dish in Yanbian, but stir-fried food, seasoned vegetables and grilled food appeared aver 10% in Kuri. There results show that variety of diet of Korean-Chinese in Yanbian was lower than Kuri. Korean-Chinese tend to keep traditional Korean dietary patterns of consuming rice as staple but were adapted to Chinese dietary patterns of consuming stir-fried side dishes. Efforts should be directed toward preserving Korean traditional patterns of dietary culture among Korean-Chinese population.

        Soft Sensing and Multi-objective Optimization of Pulp Washing Process Based on Data-Driven Technology

        Due to the multi-variable, time-delay, and nonlinear characteristics of the pulp washing process, it is difficult to accurately measure and optimize the process. An asymmetrical nonlinear control system can be decomposed into a group of low-dimensional subsystems, which brings great convenience to the analysis and design of the system. In this paper, the concept of symmetry is used to simplify nonlinear optimal control problems, and datadriven theory is used to solve optimal policy problems. This paper proposes a data-driven operating model optimization method to model and optimizes the pulp washing process. The most important quality indicators of pulp washing performance are the alkali residue in washing pulp and the Baumé degree of the extracted black liquor. Considering the difficulty of modeling, online measurement of these indicators, two-step neural network, and multiple logistic regression were used to build a prediction model for soda water and Baumé degree. The mathematical model of the washing process can be identified, and the indicators meet the production requirements. With the goal of better product quality, low cost, and low energy consumption, based on the optimized operation mode database, the ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm was used to solve the multi-objective problem. Theoretical analysis and practical application were carried out, and the optimal control system of the pulp washing process was designed. The actual results showed that the pulp output was increased by 20%, and the water consumption was reduced by nearly 30%. This method is effective during pulp washing.

        Head-on Collision Between Two Envelope Solitary Waves in a Granular Medium

        We investigated the head-on collision between two envelope solitary waves. Head-on collisions between two envelope solitary waves are first discussed in one-dimension (1D) granular chains. The interesting result is that no phase shift or phase delay detected after the head-on collision between two envelope solitary waves. The maximum amplitude during the head-on collision between two envelope solitary waves is also found to be less than the sum of the amplitudes of the two envelope solitary waves, but is larger than the amplitude of the either of the envelope solitary waves.

        A Novel Face Recognition Algorithm based on the Deep Convolution Neural Network and Key Points Detection Jointed Local Binary Pattern Methodology

        This paper presents a novel face recognition algorithm based on the deep convolution neural network and key point detection jointed local binary pattern methodology to enhance the accuracy of face recognition. We firstly propose the modified face key feature point location detection method to enhance the traditional localization algorithm to better pre-process the original face images. We put forward the grey information and the color information with combination of a composite model of local information. Then, we optimize the multi-layer network structure deep learning algorithm using the Fisher criterion as reference to adjust the network structure more accurately. Furthermore, we modify the local binary pattern texture description operator and combine it with the neural network to overcome drawbacks that deep neural network could not learn to face image and the local characteristics. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm obtains stronger robustness and feasibility compared with the other state-of-the-art algorithms. The proposed algorithm also provides the novel paradigm for the application of deep learning in the field of face recognition which sets the milestone for further research.

        Multivariable Dimension-reduction and Synergic Control Strategy for Cross-directional Basis Weight of Papermaking Process

        In view of the characteristics of strong multivariable coupling in a cross-directional (CD) basis weight control system, a multivariable block-decoupling control strategy and a real-time decomposition algorithm are proposed in this paper. Based on a model of the CD basis weight profile, a system non-square interaction matrix with high dimensionality was analyzed by experimental studies and numerical computation. Along the diagonal of the interaction matrix, the matrix block method was adopted to reduce the system dimensions and convert it into a square system. The multivariable control system with high dimensionality is divided into several subsystems. According to the structure of each subsystem, a new constraint on the control variables was introduced to satisfy the triangular decomposition of the subsystem. Based on the multi-actuator parallel control strategy, the correlation between the subsystems was eliminated, and a high-dimensional multivariable decoupling control problem was transformed into a group single loop control general problem. The relative gain matrix of the new system was calculated to verify the decoupling effect in theory, and the real-time performance of the technique was demonstrated by results from an implementation on an actual project of a paper mill.

      • Development of Coating Process Technique for Anti-Fouling Electric Insulator

        <P>In order to improve the anti-fouling characteristics of the electric insulator for electric railway, a functional coating for preventing pollution was carried out on the surface of the T type post insulator and long rod insulator in the railway insulators. In order to ensure the durability of the thin film on the coated insulator surface, the coating was annealed at three different annealing cases by using a furnace. Case 1 is annealing treatment at 250°C and case 2 is annealing treatment at 400°C. Case 3 is the double annealing treatment (case 1 + case 2). The film Surface conductivity and anti-fouling characteristics of the insulators annealed at three temperature conditions were measured. It was confirmed that the insulator annealed in case 3 had both good conductivity and anti-fouling characteristics.</P>

      • Repurposing Biology through Synthetic Enzymology

        Synthetic Enzymology has been increasingly used to engineer enzymes within biological systems for the repurposing of biology for purposeful function. On that note, the talk will touch on the Synthetic Cannabinoid Biology Programme (SCBP) that is part of the National Research Foundation’s (NRF) Synthetic Biology R&D Programme. The SCBP aims to discover new biosynthetic pathways that produce cannabinoid compounds in a sustainable manner. The SCBP does not study the psychoactive compounds of the cannabis plant, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is illegal in Singapore. Instead, it identifies cannabinoid genes for the sustainable production of cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD). The SCBP does not use the cannabis plant as the aim is to produce non-psychoactive cannabinoids through synthetic biology, so that benefits of cannabinoid pharmaceuticals can be reaped without the use of the plant. In this talk, we will highlight some recent efforts in the sustainable production of cannabinoids using synthetic biology. In addition, the use of mechanistic and engineering principles in enzymology will also be highlighted to demonstrate the utility of synthetic enzymology in a range of applications from therapeutics to sustainable manufacturing to bioremediation.

        Effect of Dilution Water on Pulp Consistency in Cross-directional Basis Weight Control

        Cross-directional basis weight of paper based on hydraulic headbox is adjusted by the opening of dilution water valve. In order to achieve uniform concentration distribution of paper sheet, a research on the effect of dilution water added to the mainstream on concentration and flow was studied by experimental set-up and mathematical modeling in this paper. Based on the numerical simulation results, a scale model of headbox was derived to predict the water content distribution and pulp consistency distribution. Results show that these models could accurately predict the experimental flow characteristics of a pulp suspension with dilution water added. Compared with slice regulation, the inverse response problem and its improvement method were discussed. By parameters improvement of pulp consistency model, the reverse response on both sides can be well eliminated or balanced when the dilution water was adopted to cross-directional profile control system. It ensures that the influence range of a single dilution water valve is controllable, which improves the adjustment accuracy of cross-directional profile control and thus improves the paper quality.

        Chance-constrained Scheduling of Variable Generation and Energy Storage in a Multi-Timescale Framework

        This paper presents a hybrid stochastic deterministic multi-timescale scheduling (SDMS) approach for generation scheduling of a power grid. SDMS considers flexible resource options including conventional generation flexibility in a chance-constrained day-ahead scheduling optimization (DASO). The prime objective of the DASO is the minimization of the daily production cost in power systems with high penetration scenarios of variable generation. Furthermore, energy storage is scheduled in an hourly-ahead deterministic real-time scheduling optimization (RTSO). DASO simulation results are used as the base starting-point values in the hour-ahead online rolling RTSO with a 15-minute time interval. RTSO considers energy storage as another source of grid flexibility, to balance out the deviation between predicted and actual net load demand values. Numerical simulations, on the IEEE RTS test system with high wind penetration levels, indicate the effectiveness of the proposed SDMS framework for managing the grid flexibility to meet the net load demand, in both day-ahead and real-time timescales. Results also highlight the adequacy of the framework to adjust the scheduling, in real-time, to cope with large prediction errors of wind forecasting.
