Numerical Simulation of Deagration-to-Detonation Transition in Obstructed Spaces
Takanobu Ogawa,Vadim N. Gamezo,Elaine S. Oran 한국전산유체공학회 2010 한국전산유체공학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2010 No.11
We numerically simulate deflagration-to-detonation transition(DDT) in obstructed spaces. The twodimensional, chemically reactive, compressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved with an explicit second-order finite volume method. The reaction model is based on one-step Arrhenius kinetics and is calibrated to reproduce the correct speeds for a flame and a detonation. An adaptive Cartesian mesh is used to enhance the resolution of reaction fronts and shocks, and is organized with the Fully Threaded Tree data structure. The numerical results show the series of events leading to flame acceleration, shock formation, shock-flame interactions, DDT, and detonation propagation. Obstacles have significant effect on each process through their interactions with flows and shocks. The flow passing over an obstacle causes flow instabilities, which accelerate the flame through flame wrinkling. Frequent shock reflection from obstacles promotes shock-flame interactions and DDT. As a result, the layout of obstacles alters how and where DDT occurs.
Effect of Train Shape on a Compression Wave Generated by a Train Moving into a Tunnel
Takanobu Ogawa,Kozo Fujii 한국전산유체공학회 1995 한국전산유체공학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.1995 No.4
An axisymmetric flow induced by a train moving into a tunnel is numerically simulated. The effect of train shape on wavefront of a compression wave created by a train is investigated parametrically using several model trains having the same nose shape but different blockage. The zonal method combined with the Fortified Solution Algorithm (FSA) is employed as a numerical algorithm to solve this moving body problem. The computational result is compared with the experimental data. Good agreement is obtained, which justifies the present computational approach. The compression waves created by the model trains are compared and the result shows that the pressure gradient of the wavefront of tbe compression wave becomes small in the case of small blockage even though the nose shape is same. The wavefront is not determined solely by the cross-sectional area distribution of the train nose.
Adaptive Compensation Method for the Temperature Dependence of RF Transformer Isolation
Aoyama, Takanobu,Shibata, Yoshiki,Kanie, Tomohiko,Noro, Yuichi,Takeo, Takashi The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2012 The Journal of International Council on Electrical Vol.2 No.4
In this study, we propose an adaptive compensation method for the temperature dependence of RF transformer isolation and present results of preliminary experiments. First of all, we examine the isolation temperature dependence of an RF transformer designed as a splitter, by means of both an electromagnetic simulation technique and experiments, to show the significance of the present issue. Then, we discuss the nature of a transformer core so as to obtain the most desirable isolation characteristics against a temperature change. Finally, in order to adaptively compensate for the isolation variation due to temperature, we propose a bias current superimposed on the RF signal, where the current amplitude is adjusted according to temperature change, and demonstrate the results of preliminary experiments conducted at a fixed temperature, but with different bias currents, indicating the validity of the proposed method.

The effect of palladium addition up to 6at% to an equiatomic AuCu alloy on the atomic ordering and age-hardening behavior was studied by means of electrical resistivity measurements, X-ray diffraction and hardness test. The following results were obtained. 1. All alloys in the AuCu-Pd pseudo-binary system examined in this study exhibited a single phase with AuCu Ⅰ type ordered structure by the aging at 300℃, and the axial ratio(c/a) became larger than that of stoichiometric AuCu Ⅰ ordered lattice. 2. The order-disorder transition temperature(Tc) rose with increasing the palladium concentration. 3. With increasing the palladium concentration, age-hardening rate in the early stage of aging became slower and the onset of overaging delayed. This was attributed to the fact that ordering rate decreased with increasing the palladium concentration.
