      • Assessment of the Functional Comfort of 3D Ergonomic Upper Garments by EEG Analyses

        Objective: 본 연구는 EEG 측정을 통해 동작용이성을 향상시킨 인체공학적 스포츠웨어의 운동기능적 쾌적감을 평가하였다. Background: α파에 대한 high β파의 비율이 높을 때 스트레스의 정도는 높아지며, 이것을 스트레스 지수라 한다. 이 값이 높아질 때 대상자가 받는 스트레스의 정도도 증가하므로, 스트레스 지수로 의복의 쾌적감을 평가할 수 있다. 거들 조임의 적절성에 대한 선행연구는 주관적 평가와 스트레스 지수 정도가 유사하다고 하였다. Method: 3차원 인체 스캔 데이터를 활용하여 3종의 패턴을 설계하고 각각의 실험복(R, A, B)을 제작한 후 착의평가와 EEG 측정을 실시하여 쾌적감을 평가하였다. Results: 착의평가에서 세가지 실험복은 모두 전체적인 품이 적당하며 움직임이 편안한 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 실험복A를 착용한 상태에서 배팅 동작을 수행한 후 EEG를 측정한 결과, 다른 실험복을 착용하였을 때에 비해 slow α파의 상대파워값이 높았다. 또한 허리 부위의 여유량과 α파, β파, slow α파의 상대파워값 및 스트레스 지수는 상관관계를 갖는다. Conclusion: 실험복A의 패턴설계방식은 착용자의 운동기능적 쾌적감을 향상시키는데 기여한다. 착의평가와 EEG 분석에 의한 쾌적감 평가는 동작용이성을 향상시킨 인체공학적 의류패턴설계연구에 적합한 객관적 평가방법으로 사료된다. Application: EEG 분석은 3차원 인체 스캔 데이터를 활용하여 동작이 용이한 패턴을 제작하는 의복구성분야에서 쾌적감을 평가하는 방법으로 적용될 수 있다.

      • 신생아실 업무 서비스를 위한 통합적 인큐베이터 시스템 개발

        본 연구는 최근 이대목동병원 신생아 집단 사망 사건과 같은 신생아실의 의료사고를 줄이는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 신생아실에 대한 학술자료 검토와 함께 실제 신생아실에서 근무하는 간호사들과의 인터뷰를 포함한 리서치 과정을 거친 결과, 그러한 의료사고의 본질적 원인은 복잡한 근무 환경 시스템으로 인한 간호사들의 과도한 업무량으로 분석되었다. 그를 해결하기 위하여 기존의 업무 시스템을 개선하고 효율화하는 서비스디자인에 초점을 맞추어 연구를 진행하였고, 애플리케이션을 기반으로 하는 업무 시스템과 그와 연동되는 IoT 인큐베이터에 해결점을 두었다. 기존의 다소 복잡하고 개별적이었던 업무 시스템을 체계화하고 상호 연동시킴으로써 신생아실 내의 업무가 더욱 효율적으로 수행될 수 있도록 하며, 이는 업무량의 감소로 이어져 신생아 케어에 더욱 집중할 수 있는 여건을 조성하는 데 도움이 되어 신생아실에서 발생하는 의료사고를 줄이고자 하는 취지와 이어진다. This paper aims to reduce medical accidents in neonatal rooms, such as the recent mass deaths of newborns at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital. As a result of the research process including interviews with nurses working in neonatal rooms with the review of academic data on neonatal rooms, the essential cause of such medical accidents was analyzed by the excessive workload of nurses due to the complex working environment system of neonatal room. To solve them, this paper focused on service design that improved and streamlined the existing work system, and put a solution to the application-based work system and associated IoT incubator. Systematizing and interworking existing complex and individual work systems allows tasks within the neonatal care to be performed more efficiently, leading to a reduction in workload, which is intended to reduce medical accidents occurring in the neonatal care by helping to create conditions for more focus on neonatal care.

        A new test statistic to assess the goodness of fit of exponential distribution under progressive censoring

        The problem of examining how well a assumed distribution fits the data of a sample is of significant that has to be examined prior to any inferential process. In this paper, a new goodness-of-fit test for an exponential distribution based on progressive censored data is proposed. Using Monte Carlo simulation studies, the present researchers have observed that the proposed test for exponentiality is consistent and quite powerful in comparison with existing goodness-of-fit tests based on progressive censored data. Also, the new test statistic for a real data set is used and the results show that our new test statistic performs well.

        Human Health Risk Assessment of Trichloroethylene from Industrial Complex A

        This study investigated the human health risks of trichloroethylene from Industrial Complex A. The excessive carcinogenic risks for central tendency exposure were 1.40 × 10<SUP>?5</SUP> for male and female residents in the vicinity of Industrial Complex A. The excessive cancers risk for reasonable maximum exposure were 2.88 × 10<SUP>?5</SUP> and 1.97 × 10<SUP>?5</SUP> for males and females, respectively. These values indicate that there are potential cancer risks for exposure to these concentrations. The hazard index for central tendency exposure to trichloroethylene was 1.71 for male and female residents. The hazard indexes for reasonable maximum exposure were 3.27 and 2.41 for males and females, respectively. These values were over one, which is equivalent to the threshold value. This result showed that adverse cancer and non-cancer health effects may occur and that some risk management of trichloroethylene from Industrial Complex A was needed.

      • Spray Characteristics Analysis of Fire Sprinkler Spray with Image Processing

        Sprinkler systems are effective in suppressing fires during their initial stages. The ability of a sprinkler to suppress a fire is contingent on the density, size, and velocity of the droplets it emits. In this study, a high-speed camera was employed to measure the size and velocity of droplets generated by a sprinkler head with a K-factor of 80. To capture images of the sprinkler spray, two acrylic partitions were placed 3cm apart, with the sprinkler head positioned in the center. A light source was positioned behind the spray, and images were recorded at a resolution of 1024 × 1024 pixels and a speed of 4000 fps. During the image processing phase, bounding circles were drawn using the mean of the major and minor axes of the droplets, and these circles were used to calculate the diameter, velocity, and momentum of the droplets. It was observed that smaller droplets were predominantly present closer to the sprinkler head, while larger droplets were more prevalent in regions farther away. The larger droplets exhibited higher velocities and momentum. As the vertical distance increased, droplet velocity and momentum also increased, primarily due to the influence of gravity.

      • Comparison of Holistic Approach with Progressive Dysarthria according to Clinical Experience : a Multi-Institutional Survey in Korea

        Recently a more holistic approach that includes impairment, activation, and participation is recommended. This study investigated the difference between speech language pathologists (SLPs) ' awareness and preference of the assessment according to the clinical experience after adjustment of the medical center by regional groups. Sixty-two SLPs who work in 51 medical centers have completed the survey, and the data was analyzed via Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel Test. As a result, there is a significant difference between the SLPs surveyed who have less than 5 years experience and SLP's who have more than 5 years experience (p<0.05). Particularly in the preferences of assessment methods such as observation of intelligibility in conversation with SLPs, observation of AAC ability in the both technical ability and interaction, hierarchy of difficult communication situations, observation of interaction in conversation with others, and recording of communication in non-clinical situations. In the awareness of assessment, there are noticeable differences between the two aforementioned groups concerning the importance of assessing a communication partner's abilities (p<0.05).The results showed that the two groups of SLPs have different views regarding the awareness and preferences of assessment with progressive dysarthria according to their related clinical experience. Thus, it is necessary to develop and nurture guidelines with a more holistic approach to progressive dysarthria.

        Distribution of working position among workers with varicose veins based on the National Health Insurance and National Employment Insurance data

        Background: This study aimed to determine the effect of specific working postures on the development of varicose veins (VV). By using Korea"s National Health Insurance (NHI) and National Employment Insurance (NEI) data, we analyzed the general characteristic and difference in proportions of VV cases according to occupational working posture. Methods: From the NEI and NHI data, participant demographics, such as gender, age, body mass index, and number of workers in specific occupations or industries were obtained. We classified the 240 occupations into blue-collar (BC) and white-collar (WC) occupations and subdivided them into standing, sitting, and walking groups according to the dominant working posture. Results: The number of VV patients per 100,000 individuals increased with age, with a higher number of women than men and a higher number of patients in the BC than WC groups. For the BC group, the proportion of VV cases was the highest in the standing group, followed by the walking and sitting groups, but there was no significant difference between standing and walking groups in man. For the WC group, the standing group had a higher proportion of VV cases than the sitting group, but there was no significant difference between the standing and sitting group in man. In the BC group, the proportion of VV cases was the highest among medical and welfare-related elementary workers, bakers and cookie makers, automobile assemblers, cleaning and guarding-related elemental workers, and nurses and dental hygienists. In the WC group, the proportion of VV cases was the highest among food/lodging/tourism/entertainment/sports-related managers, environment/cleaning/protective services-related managers, finance and insurance clerks, accounting book-keeping clerks, and social welfare and counseling professionals. Conclusions: This study was performed to determine the characteristics of VV with different working posture among Korean workers. It is expected to be the basis of further studies on occupational musculoskeletal diseases.

        Genetic Characteristics of Coronaviruses from Korean Bats in 2016

        <P>Bats have increasingly been recognized as the natural reservoir of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), coronavirus, and other coronaviruses found in mammals. However, little research has been conducted on bat coronaviruses in South Korea. In this study, bat samples (332 oral swabs, 245 fecal samples, 38 urine samples, and 57 bat carcasses) were collected at 33 natural bat habitat sites in South Korea. RT-PCR and sequencing were performed for specific coronavirus genes to identify the bat coronaviruses in different bat samples. Coronaviruses were detected in 2.7% (18/672) of the samples: 13 oral swabs from one species of the family Rhinolophidae, and four fecal samples and one carcass (intestine) from three species of the family Vespertiliodae. To determine the genetic relationships of the 18 sequences obtained in this study and previously known coronaviruses, the nucleotide sequences of a 392-nt region of the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) gene were analyzed phylogenetically. Thirteen sequences belonging to SARS-like betacoronaviruses showed the highest nucleotide identity (97.1-99.7%) with Bat-CoV-JTMC15 reported in China. The other five sequences were most similar to MERS-like betacoronaviruses. Four nucleotide sequences displayed the highest identity (94.1-95.1%) with Bat-CoV-HKU5 from Hong Kong. The one sequence from a carcass showed the highest nucleotide identity (99%) with Bat-CoV-SC2013 from China. These results suggest that careful surveillance of coronaviruses from bats should be continued, because animal and human infections may result from the genetic variants present in bat coronavirus reservoirs.</P>
