Structure and Performances of xLiFePO4/C·(1 − x)Li3V2(PO4)3/C Cathode for Lithium-Ion Batteries by Using Poly(vinyl alcohol) as Carbon Source

        Chang-ling Fan,Wei-hua Zhang,Tao-tao Zeng,Ling-fang Li,Xiang Zhang,Shao-chang Han 대한화학회 2015 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.36 No.11

Poly(vinyl alcohol), whose pyrolysis carbon possesses high conductivity of 8.88 × 10−1 S/cm, was used to synthesize xLiFePO4/C·(1 − x)Li3V2(PO4)3/C cathode. It was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, conductivity, cyclic voltammetry, and galvanostatic charge and discharge experiments. Results show that LiFePO4/C and Li3V2(PO4)3/C coexists in the cathode. The particles sizes of 0.75LiFePO4/C·0.25Li3V2(PO4)3/C (x = 0.75) are much smaller than 100 nm due to the role of poly(vinyl alcohol). Its conductivity is 8.79 × 10−2 S/cm. The oxidative and reductive peaks in cyclic voltammetry are sharp and symmetrical. Their low potential gaps indicate that the extractions and insertions of lithium ion possess excellent reversibility. Its discharge capacities at 1 and 5 C are 141.1 and 100.1 mAh/g. The more Li3V2(PO4)3/C in cathode results in the deterioration of electrochemical performances due to its low theoretical capacity. It is concluded that poly(vinyl alcohol) is an effective carbon source in the preparation of xLiFePO4/C·(1 − x)Li3V2(PO4)3/C composite cathode with excellent performances.

        Chen Chen,Jie Zhan,Hao Wen,Xiaojing Wei,Lu Ding,Chenyang Tao,Cui Li,Peiming Zhang,Yuyuan Tang,Jing-chun Zeng,Li-ming Lu 한국한의학연구원 2021 Integrative Medicine Research Vol.10 No.-

Background Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), acupuncture has been widely used in the treatment of COVID-19. The research community has responded rapidly and has already published many research articles about this topic. Methods We searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library as well as CNKI, Wanfang and VIP from January 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021. The dates of publication, language of publication, methodological characteristics and the key findings were analyzed separately. The data are presented as bar graphs, structured tables and figures. Results In this scoping review, 16 research articles were included: 7 case reports, 6 observational studies, 1 review, 1 RCT and 1 nonrandomized clinical trial. The majority of the articles (81.3%) were published by Chinese scholars, 12.5% articles were by scholars in the United States, and 6.3% articles were by scholars in Iran. The included studies reported that acupuncture could alleviate the symptoms of COVID-19 patients, shorten their hospitalization days, and is effective for the elderly. There were no side effects reported. The most frequent acupoints used were LI4, PC6, ST36 and KI3. They reported many obstacles in implementing acupuncture therapy for treating COVID-19 patients. Conclusion Acupuncture has a good effect for the treatment of COVID-19, but high-quality evidence support is still lacking. Coupled with the difficulties that acupuncturists experienced during the process of treatment, the promotion of acupuncture treatment for COVID-19 faces many obstacles. ObjectiveaaThe aim of this study was to find if systemic family therapy (SFT) does work in anxiety and depression with epilepsy in adolescents (ADAE). Methodsaa104 adolescents with epilepsy, aged 13–20 years old, were included from December 2009 to December 2010, the enrolled patients were with anxiety [Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) score ≥14 points] or depression [Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) score ≥20 points]. The patients were randomly divided into the control group (n=52) treated with antiepileptic drugs (AED) and the intervention group (n=52) undergone Systemic Family Therapy (SFT) as well as AED. The AED improvements, anxiety and depression scores, Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), Family Assessment Device (FAD) and scale of systemic family dynamics (SSFD) were observed after 3-month treatment. ResultsaaThe frequencies of epileptic seizures in intervention group was decreased much more significantly than the control group (4.22±3.54 times/month vs. 6.20±5.86 times/month, p=0.04); and the scores of anxiety (9.52±6.28 points vs. 13.48±8.47 points, p=0.01) and depression (13.86±9.17 points vs. 18.89±8.73 points, p=0.02) were significantly decreased than the control group; meanwhile, the family dynamics and family functions were significantly improved, and the social support was also increased (p<0.05). ConclusionaaSFT combined with AEDs had better efficacies than AEDs alone, not only the frequency of epileptic seizures was decreased, but also the patients’ anxiety and depression were improved, and the family dynamics, family functions and social support were improved.

      • Release dynamics of As, Co, and Mo in a biochar treated soil under pre-definite redox conditions

        El-Naggar, Ali,Shaheen, Sabry M.,Hseu, Zeng-Yei,Wang, Shan-Li,Ok, Yong Sik,Rinklebe, Jö,rg Elsevier 2019 The Science of the total environment Vol.657 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This study assessed the impact of pre-definite redox potential (EH) on the release dynamics and distribution of As, Co, and Mo between the dissolved and colloidal phases as well as their potential mobility and phytoavailability in the sediment phase of a mining soil treated with rice hull biochar (BC). The experiment was conducted from controlled moderately-reducing to oxidizing conditions using an automated biogeochemical microcosm system. Arsenic and Mo were more abundant in the dissolved phase due to their predominant in potential mobile fractions, while Co was more abundant in the colloidal phase due to its association with Fe-(hydr)oxides. Biochar increased the dissolved and colloidal concentrations of As, the dissolved concentration of Co, and the colloidal concentration of Mo under oxidizing condition. On the other hand, the application of BC decreased the dissolved concentration of Mo and the colloidal concentration of Co in the first redox cycle under reducing-acidic condition, due to lower pH values, and chemistry of sulfide-sulfate and Fe/Mn oxides. The phytoavailability of As and Co were higher than their potential mobility in the sediment phase, while the same trend was not discerned for Mo. The potential mobility and phytoavailability of As and Co were high under oxic-acidic conditions. The potential mobility and phytoavailability of Mo might be increased under oxic condition due to the dissolution of Fe and Mn oxides under lower pH conditions, especially in the BC treated soil. Application of such rice hull BC to soil might stimulate the release of As, Co, and Mo under flooding conditions, which might increase the environmental and health risks in such wetland ecosystems.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The EH showed a converse relation with pH in biochar treated and non-treated soils. </LI> <LI> Arsenic and Mo were abundant in the dissolved phase, but Co in the colloidal phase. </LI> <LI> Biochar increased the dissolved As and Co under oxidizing conditions. </LI> <LI> Biochar decreased the dissolved Mo under acidic conditions in the first redox cycle. </LI> <LI> Potential mobility and phytoavailability were higher under low pH and high EH. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Allusion as a Poetic Mode in Li Shangyin's Poetry on History

Zeng, Li 성균관대학교 동아시아학술원 2011 Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies Vol.11 No.1

A great deal of Li Shangyin's (ca. 812-858) poetry on history, a subgenre in Chinese classical verse, is outstanding among similar works by his contemporaries and by poets of previous ages. And in writing his poems on history, allusion served as an important mode for him. Centering round a major feature of his poetry on history, that is, the combination of traditional attitudes toward history with satire and irony, this article tackles the poet's artful manipulation of different modes of reading allusion, especially historical allusions. Through an analysis of selections from his allusive poems on historical themes, the article reveals how Li Shangyin's poetry on history produces a metaphorical and allegorical effect while using historical events as a moral mirror to reflect the political present.

      • The Soft Power of Culture: Economics Consideration Based on the Perspective of “Three Forces” of Culture

Zeng Li,Wu Nan,Li Baihan 아시아사회과학학회 2022 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.8 No.2

Focusing on “three forces” of cultural productivity, cultural competitiveness and cultural soft power, the paper considers “three forces” of culture from an economics perspective by constructing a linkage mechanism model of “three forces” of culture. From cultural resources to cultural capital into cultural productivit y, cultural productivity can be optimized through the balance between supply and demand. Then, the paper analyzes the construction of cultural competitiveness from perspective of cultural inheritance and innovation affecting the balance between supply and demand, efficiency. Combined with Michael Porter Diamond Model, it analyzes six factors that affect “three forces” of culture, such as enterprise strategy, related industries, demand conditions, production factors, opportunities and government. Therefore, “three forces” of culture mechanism aims at realizing the linkage mechanism of cultural economic value, cultural mechanism and social value, thus enhancing cultural soft power and national image.

Seasons affect the phosphorylation of pork sarcoplasmic proteins related to meat quality

        Zeng Xianming,Li Xiao,Li Chunbao 아세아·태평양축산학회 2022 Animal Bioscience Vol.35 No.1

Objective: Sarcoplasmic proteins include proteins that play critical roles in biological processes of living organisms. How seasons influence biological processes and meat quality of postmortem muscles through the regulation of protein phosphorylation remain to be investigated. In this study, the phosphorylation of sarcoplasmic proteins in pork longissimus muscle was investigated in four seasons. Methods: Sarcoplasmic proteins were extracted from 40 pork carcasses (10 for each season) and analyzed through ProQ Diamond staining for phosphorylation labeling and Sypro Ruby staining for total protein labeling. The pH of muscle, contents of glycogen and ATP were measured at 45 min, 3 h, and 9 h postmortem and the water (P2b, P21, and P22) was measured at 3 h and 9 h. Results: A total of 21 bands were detected. Band 8 (heat shock cognate 71 kDa protein; heat shock 70 kDa protein 1B) had higher phosphorylation level in summer than that in other seasons at 45 min postmortem. The phosphorylation levels of 3 Bands were significantly different between fast and normal pH decline groups (p<0.05). The phosphorylation levels of 4 bands showed negative associations with immobilized water (P21) and positive association with free water (P22). Conclusion: The phosphorylation levels of sarcoplasmic proteins involved in energy metabolism and heat stress response at early postmortem time differed depending on the seasons. These proteins include heat shock protein 70, pyruvate kinase, phosphoglucomutase-1, glucose-6-phosphate isomerase, and carbonic anhydrase 3. High temperatures in summer might result in the phosphorylation of those proteins, leading to pH decline and low water holding capacity. Static and free vibration analysis of shallow sagging inclined cables

        Li, Zhi-Jiang,Li, Peng,He, Zeng,Cao, Ping Techno-Press 2013 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.45 No.2

Based on link-model, we conducted a static analysis and computation of a three-span suspended cable structure in the present paper, and obtained the static configuration and tension distribution of the cable. Using the link and beam model based on finite element method, we analyzed the vibration modal of three-span suspended cable structure, and compared with the results obtained from ANSYS using link and beam element. The vibration modals of shallow sagging inclined cables calculated from proposed method agrees well with ANSYS results, which validates the proposed method. As a result, the influence of bend stiffness on in-plane natural frequencies is much greater than that on out-of-plane natural frequencies of inclined cables.

Excessive retinoic acid inhibit mouse embryonic palate mesenchymal cell growth through involvement of Smad signaling

        Zengli Yu,Xiaozhuan Liu,Zhan Gao,Zhitao Li,Jun Yin,Yuchang Tao,Lingling Cui,Zengli Yu 한국통합생물학회 2017 Animal cells and systems Vol.21 No.1

All-trans retinoic acid (atRA), the oxidative metabolite of retinoic acid (RA), is essential for palatogenesis. Overdose RA is capable of inducing cleft palate in mice and humans. Normal embryonic palatal mesenchymal (EPM) cell growth is crucial for shelf growth. Smad signaling is involved in many biological processes. However, it is not much clear if atRA could affect Smad signaling during EPM cells growth. In this study, the timed pregnant mice with maternal administration of 100 mg/kg body weight of RA by gastric intubation were cervical dislocation executed to evaluate growth changes of palatal shelves by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. At the same time, a primary mouse EPM (MEPM) cell culture model was also established. MEPM cells were treated with atRA (0.1, 0.5, 1, 5 and 10 μM) for 24, 48 and 72 h. The results indicated that the sizes of the shelves were smaller than those in control. AtRA inhibited MEPM cell growth with both increasing concentration and increasing incubation time, especially at 72 h in vitro. Moreover, atRA significantly increased the mRNA and protein expression levels of Smad7 (P < .05), but the mRNA and protein expression levels of PCNA were reduced (P < .05). We also found atRA inhibited phosphorylation of Smad2 compared with untreated group (P < .05). However, the protein and mRNA levels of Smad2 did not change both in atRA-treated and untreated group (P > .05). We demonstrated that RA induced inhibition of MEPM cell growth that could cause cleft palate partly by down-regulation of Smad pathway.
