      • 다중 평행판 축전기형 전송회로를 사용한 질소레이저의 제작과 출력 특성의 기체 온도 의존성

        We have studied the operational characteristics of a nitrogen laser system which consists of a laser tube of 200 ㎜ in length, multiple parallel plate capacitor type transmission circuitry, pulse type high voltage power source and temperature control system for the nitrogen gas. The optimum operational condition is measured to be 30 ℃ in gas temperature, 70 torr in gas pressure, and E/P of 411 (V/㎝.torr) at 4 ㎜ in spark gap spacing and 20 ㎐ in repetation rate. With increasing the nitrogen gas temperature, the optimum nitrogen gas pressure is found to be increased but the optimum value of E/P is decreased. These results are in accordance with the theory of other studies so far.

        In utilization of sludge as an fertilizer for soil, heavy metal concentration is critical in terms of toxical effects. The heavy metal contents in the sludge can contaminate the soil in long term basis, and the contamination of heavy metal in soil will not be attenuated in nature. This study review the heavy metal standard for sludge used for fertilizer in Korea, Japan, Europe, and America, and the sludge produced in four wastewater plant was investigated. In conclusion the sludge produced from wastewater plant receiving wastewater from industrial complex exceed the Cadmium standard of fertilizer, but other sludge can satisfy the standard. However, the overall heavy metal contents were high enough to consider long term effect.

      • 우리나라 주식시장의 일월효과에 관한 연구

        Recently many market anomalies such as the size effect, the P/E effect and the January effect have been reported in the stock market. The January effect represents a strong evidence against the efficient market hypothesis. If investors are rational and the market is efficient, there can be no reason that returns in some specific months are higher than returns in other months. Nevertheless, many empirical evidences on stock return anomalies have been found in major stock in the world. Using Korean stock data, Kim(1990), and Koh and Rho(1993) reported the Januay effect . However, these reports have certain limitations due to the lack of both time periods and data used for the research. To get more persuasive and comprehensive evidence, this work attempts; 1. to test the existence of stock return data using monthly stock return series from January 1980 to December 1995. Both of parametric test and non-parametric test are applied. 2. to test the weekly stock return data. Therefore the number of observations has been increased. 3. to test the relationship between the stock price index by the sizes; small, middle, large and overall. The test results in this work are summarized as follows: 1. Using monthly data, the monthly effect was found in middle sized firms. 2. Using weekly data, the January effect was found in small sized firms. 3. The size effects of 1987, 1990,1993 and 1994 were significant.

      • Blumlein 전송회로에 의해 선전리되는 질소레이저의 동작특성 연구

        The design and construction of nitrogen laser preionized with a Blumlein transmission line circuit is described. For the power supply, we have used a pulse type high voltage power source that can be produce 10 joule energy in a pulse. The condition of maximum output power is observed at N_2 gas pressure of 100 torr, spark gap distance of 6.0 mm, repetition rate of 30Hz with preionization, and the stability increases by 0.7%. The maximum increment of output power is achieved at pressure of 200 torr when preionization is used. Finally we can increase the output power by approximately 60% by using this work, and the E/P value is 133 V㎝^(-1) torr^(-1).

      • 다극형 스파크 �b과 다중평행판 축전기형 전송회로를 사용한 질소레이저의 동작특성

        We have studied on the operational characteristics of a nitrogen laser which was coupled with a multiplex parallel capacitor type Blumlein transmission line circuit and a multiplex sparkgap. This spark gap consisted of 8 pairs of electrode and was 50 ㎝ in length, as long as the laser tube. According to increasing the number of electrodes in the spark gaps up to the 6 pairs, the output power and stability of the laser was increased. It was to be improved that the multiplex spark gap was operated as a good peformance to the nitrogen laser system. The optimum operational condition of the nitrogen laser at 20㎐ of repetition rate could be obtained with the nitrogen gas pressure of 80 torr, E/P value of 325.0 v/㎝ torr at the electrodes spacing 5.0 ㎜ and of 90 torr, E/P value of 311.1 v/㎝ torr at the electrodes spacing 6.0 ㎜ respectively.

      • 나선형 이중 평행판 축전기형 Blumlein 전송회로를 사용한 소형 질소레이저의 동작 특성 연구

        The design and performance of a compact nitrogen laser which consists of a Spiral multiple parallel plate capacitor type Blumlein transmission line circuit are described. The laser tube is made by 50 ㎜ long with a 2.5 ㎜ main electrode gap spacing. The output power increased with the spark gap distance. The peak power of 3.0 μJ has been obtained with a spark gap distance of 3.5 ㎜ and a repetition rate of 30㎐. The optimum nitrogen gas pressure was about 60torr independent of the variation of spark gap distance. The laser operates with repetition rate of up to 70 ㎐.

      • 하수슬러지의 소각기술 검토

        Incineration has been suggested as an alternative treatment technology of landfill for sludge, and commercialized in developed country like USA and Japan. However, the incineration of sludge is not popular in Korea. It can promote the sludge incineration to understand the technology as well as the problem to be considered in designing and application. In this paper, sludge incineration is reviewed in technical aspects, and the point of consideration is explained.

      • 국내 말라리아 상황과 연구동향

        Vivax malaria has re-emerged in the northern part of the Republic of Korea from 1993 after over 10 years absence. The number of cases has increased every year and reached to about 3000-4000 a year. Thanks to this epidemic researches and developments on malaria is activated in the country. Some important achievements produced by Institute of Malariology. Inje University are introduced. The geographical distributions of patients and antibody titers showed the characteristic of border malaria. Thus collaborative efforts with North Korea are necessary to control this epidemic successfully. In this epidemic, two different genotypes were found In the genes of CSP, DBP, MSP-1 (ICB 4-5), and AMA-1. The DNA structures of the genes were similar to them from East Asia. 58% of 80 patients' blood shows single genotype in each gene had a combination of genotypes (CSP SK-A:DBP SK-I:MSP-1), and 29% of them has another (CSP SK-B:DBP SK-Ⅱ:MSP-2). Thus it was concluded that genetically different two strains (KOR1 and KOR2) of P. vivax were mainly distributed in the endemic area. One-shot multiplex PCR was designed for differential diagnosis of two major species of Plasmodium by targeting the 18s rRNA gene. In an evaluation on 210 clinical samples the new PCR test showed very high feasibility, sensitivity (100%), and specificity (100%). Malaria is one of major infectious diseases in the world, causing 300-500 million clinical cases and more than one million deaths each year. The importance of vaccine and new drugs for malaria must be stressed.

      • 고속고압 방전간극을 사용한 질소 레이저의 동작 특성

        We have constructed a nitrogen laser which is 42㎝ long has a rapid high-voltage spark gap and a multiple parallel capacitor-type Blumlein transmission line circuit, whose total capacitance is about 80 nF. The maximum output power of laser has obtained under the condition of nitrogen gas pressure of 80torr, spark gap spacing of 2.26mm and charging voltage of 10.5kV. Under these optimum conditions and maintaining constant stability of 0.02, this laser can be operated with a range of repetition rate, from 10 to 30.1 Hz. The value of E/P is 437 V.cm^-1. torr^-1 for maximum output power and 417 Vcm^-1. torr^-1 for optimum stability condition.

      • 슬러지 소각로의 NO_(x)의 발생특성 파악

        본 연구에서는 하수처리장 슬러지 소각로에서 발생되는 NO_(x)의 발생량을 슬러지의 수분함유량 및 슬러지 소각로의 운전조건 등을 기준으로 검토하였다. 슬러지 중의 수분함유량은 NO_(x)의 발생과 관계가 있었으며, 수분함유량이 높아질수록 NO_(x)의 발생량이 증가하는 것이 관찰되었다. 또한, 수분 함유량의 증가는 유동상 상부에서 발생되는 CO와 CO_(2)의 비를 증가시켰으며, 결론적으로 유동상로의 상부를 산화조건으로 만들었다고 사료되었다. 한편, 유동상의 온도를 600℃에서 800℃까지 증가 시켜 실험을 행한 결과 700℃이상에서 급격한 NO_(x)의 증가가 관찰되었으며, 600℃에서 700℃ 및 700℃에서 800℃ 범위에서는 온도의 증가에 의한 NO_(x)의 발생에 대한 영향이 크지 않은 것으로 관찰되었다. 따라서, 현재 국내에서 채용하고 있는 슬러지의 사전 건조방법은 직접연소에 비교하여 NO_(x)의 감소에 어느 정도의 효과가 기대되며, 슬러지 소각로 운영시에 유동상의 온도를 계속적으로 Monitoring하여, 유동상의 상부온도가 700℃를 초과하지 않도록 투입조건 및 유동공기량을 적절히 조정하는 것이 필요하다. 또한 CO와 CO_(2)의 비는 NO_(x)의 발생량의 제어 뿐아니라 전체적으로 소각로의 투입조건의 설정에 매우 중요한 요소이므로 이에 대한 연속적 Monitoring 및 이에 따른 운전 조건의 파악이 요구된다.
