Gene Introgression Effects of Green Rice Leafhopper Resistance on Grain Quality in Rice

The effects of the transferred green rice leafhopper (GRH) resistant gene on yield and grain quality were analyzed by using 7 near-isogenic lines (NILs) with introgressed GRH resistance gene in rice cultivar "Ilpumbyeo". The genotype analysis using SSR markers indicated that all NILs were recovered more than 95% as compared with recurrent parent "Ilpumbyeo". All NILs showed no significant differences compared to recurrent parent for grain yield. No significant differences were observed between NILs and their recurrent parent for physicochemical traits (protein content, amylose content and alkali spreading value) and eating quality. But there were significant differences for appearance of brown and milled rice and pasting properties between some NILs and their recurrent parent. It means that these grain appearance and pasting traits of NILs were very similar or more improved compared to recurrent parent "Ilpumbyeo". Thus, it could be possible to develop GRH resistant variety with high ,quality in segregating populations.
Cost-Oriented QC and Process-Oriented QC; Which is more Desirable Approach?

본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 품질관리(品質管理)의 추진(推進)을 비용(費用) 지향적(指向的)인 방법(方法)과 공정지향적(工程指向的)인 방법(方法)으로 대별(大別)하고 각각(各各)의 특징(特徵)을 설명(說明)함과 아울러 비교분석(比較分析) 하였다. 또 현장(現場) Q.C 담당기술자(擔當技術者)들이 품질관리(品質管理)를 실시(實施)함에 있어서 방향(方向)을 모색한다거나 현재(現在) 실시(實施)하고 있는 방법(方法)의 부당성(不當性)을 첵크하기 위한 기준(基準)을 비용함수(費用函數)로서 제시(提示)하였다. This paper introduces two approaches of the cost-oriented QC and the process-oriented QC, and compares them on several aspects. The cost-oriented QC tries to assure the specified quality level by sampling inspection within minimum quality cost, while the process-oriented QC aims at realization of target value of quality specification through process adjustment when a product deviates from the target. But the final purpose of both approaches is on quality assurance for markets and consumers. After all, desirability is a question of quality cost. This paper suggests two of cost functions for decision making criterion.

In this paper we present the shrunken testing estimator for the variance of normal population and we find the condition that can be used in seeking the situations in which the proposed estimator is superior to the minimum variance unbiased estimator.
The a-Si:H/poly-Si Heterojunction Solar Cells

We present heterojunction solar cells with a structure of metal/a-Si:H (n-i-p)/poly-Si (n-p)/metal for the terrestrial applications. This cell consists of two component cells: a top n-i-p junction a-Si:H cell with wide-bandgap 1.8eV and a bottom n-p junction poly-Si cell with narrow-bandgap 1.1eV. The efficiency influencing factors of the solar cell were investigated in terms of simulation and experiment. Three main topics of the investigated study were the bottom cell with n-p junction poly-Si, the top a-Si:H cell with n-i-p junction, and the interface layer effects of heterojunction cell. The efficiency of bottom cell was improved with a pretreatment temperature of 900℃, surface polishing, emitter thickness of 0.43㎛, top Yb metal, and grid finger shading of 7% coverage. The process optimized cell showed a conversion efficiency about 16%. Top cell was grown by using a photo-CVD system which gave an ion damage free and good p/i-a-Si:H layer interface. The heterojunction interface effect was examined with three different surface states; a chemical passivation, thermal oxide passivation, and Yb metal. The oxide passivated cell exhibited the higher photocurrent generation and better spectral response.

실내에서 대부분의 시간을 보내는 현대인들에게 있어 쾌적한 실내환경은 작업의 효율성을 증대시킬 뿐만 아니라, 건강의 유지나 에너지 절약 차원에서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 따라서 국가에서도 감성공학 기반기술 개발 사업에서 쾌적한 실내 환경을 구현하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 연구의 결과들을 이용하여 쾌적한 실내환경을 구현하기 위한 요소를 지표화하였고, 결과 및 관련 내용을 비교·분석하였다. 그러나 지표화 과정에서 각 과제별 연구의 진행이 상호 독립적으로 이루어져 연구의 일관성이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 개별 과제의 연구 진행과정에서 상호연관성을 가진 부분이 실험계획이나 방법이 미흡해 결과에 대한 신뢰성 저하는 물론이고, 데이터 베이스 구축을 위한 자료통합에도 상당한 문제가 있을 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 관련 연구과제 수행자들간의 적극적인 정보교류는 물론이고 지표의 타당성을 검증하는 실험도 필요할 것으로 보인다.
