Purpose: This study examined whether a single application of a lumbar flexion muscle energy technique (MET) could significantly influence pain, functional status, and range of motion in chronic back pain patients with restricted active trunk flexion. Methods: Twenty volunteers were randomly assigned to either a control group or an experimental group. Ten subjects in the control group received no treatment. Ten subjects in the experimental group received five sessions with the muscle energy technique, five times per week for two weeks. Outcomes were measured before and after two weeks of treatment in both groups. Pain intensity was assessed using a visual analogue scale (VAS). Range of motion was measured using the sit-and-reach test (SRT). Functional disability levels were assessed using the Korean version of the Oswestry Disability Index (KODI). Results: The experimental group showed a significant difference in VAS, KODI, and SRT between pre- and post-treatment (p < .05), while the control group showed no significant changes. The changes in VAS, ODI, and SRT were statistically significant between the groups pre- and post-treatment (p < .05). Conclusion: This muscle energy technique is clinically effective for chronic low back pain patients.
경피신경전기자극(TENS)과 삼음교 지압이 원발성 월경통에 미치는 효과 비교

PURPOSE: This study examined the effect of highfrequency transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and San-Yin-Jiao (SP6) acupressure on primary dysmenorrhea. Furthermore, the difference in effectiveness between the two methods were compared. METHODS: Twenty-six students participated in this study, and were randomly assigned to a high-frequency TENS group(experimental 1, n=9), a San-Yin-Jiao (SP6) acupressure group(experimental 2, n=9), and no treatment group(control, n=8). They were assessed and treated on the first day of their menstruation. The TENS protocol included applying 20 minutes of stimulation with a frequency of 100Hz, 100μsec pulse width. Four electrodes were placed on the skin 3 cm from midline at T12-L1 and S2-3 paravertebral muscles. San-Yin-Jiao (SP6) acupressure should be applied with the thumb for 10 minutes(8 seconds pressure and 2 seconds rest) on the SP6 acupoint. This procedure should be repeated for the other foot. Dysmenorrheal pain measured two pain assessment tools (VAS, DPT) pre-treatment; immediate post-treatment; 30minutes, 1, 2hours; and 3, 4, 5, 6, 24 hours after the VAS test were added. RESULTS: The results showed significant differences in pain assessments (VAS, DPT) after treatment for subjects of experimental group1 (p<.05) and experimental group2 (p<.05), whereas the between-group comparison found no statistically significant differences. CONCLUSION: This result supports the idea that using two methods could be effective in pain reduction among students who suffered from primary dysmenorrhea
슬괵근 단축이 있는 대학생에 대한 유지-이완 기법의 효과

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of three PNF stretching techniques for improving hamstring flexibility and to compare the effectiveness of three PNF stretching techniques(direct and indirect and mix(direct&indirect) of hold-relax technique). METHODS: The subjects were randomly assigned into three groups: group1-direct-hold-relax technique(n=10); group2-indirect-hold-relax technique(n=8); group3-mix(direct&indirect)-hold-relax technique(n=10). For each group, stretch was performed three times a week for a period of three weeks. Hamstring flexibility for each group was measured using the ASLR and PSLR. RESULTS: The results showed significant improvement in hamstring flexibility for all subjects of three groups. However, were not significantly different between the three groups. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, three PNF stretching techniques are confirmed to be useful for improving hamstring flexibility. The choice for a qualified technique has to be made individually according to patient and therapist.

For the environmental safety of the operating room and patient healthcare, the closed type rebreathing system is widely adopted. In order to reduce the anesthesia gas during surgery, the mixing ratio of anesthesia gas with breathing air should be precisely controlled. Generally, the breathing air passes through the vaporizer to mix the anesthesia gas, but there is a difficulty in controlling the mixing ratio precisely. In this paper, the stand-alone style vaporizer is designed and the operating characteristics are investigated. The vaporizer measures the temperature and pressure in the vaporizing chamber and chamber temperature is precisely controlled by proportional controlled heater. Exact quantity of anesthesia media is feeded by PID controlled peristaltic pump and vaporized gas is mixed with breathing air flow by PWM controlled solenoid valve. The experimental result shows that the vaporizer has an excellent command following performances that it can be applied to the low flow anesthesia system.
서해골드 관광열차(G-train)의 수요예측에 대한 실증연구

장항선을 축으로 하는 서해안권의 생태, 역사, 문화 및 축제 등을 체험할 수 있는「서해골드 관광열차(G-train)」의 개발이 5대권역 철도관광벨트 조성사업의 일환으로 추진 중에 있다.「서해골드 관광열차(G-train)」를 개발하고 운영하기 위해서는 마스터플랜을 수립할 필요가 있다. 관광열차사업에 대한 마스터플랜을 수립하기 위해서는 신뢰성 높은 수송수요 예측결과가 필요하다. 하지만 국내·외적으로 주말 또는 관광시즌에 집중하는 특성을 갖는 관광열차의 수송수요에 대한 연구는 전무한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 여가통행 현황 및 실태분석, 관광수요예측 관련 현황분석 등을 종합적으로 검토한 후 통행발생, 통행분포, 수단선택, 통행배정의 4단계로 관광열차의 수송수요를 예측하는 방법을 정립하였다. 이를 통해 서해골드 관광열차의 수송수요를 예측하고 관광열차 운행시의 철도 이용객의 수송수요 변화를 분석하였다. A project to develop Seohae Gold Tourist Train to experience the ecology, history, culture and festivals in the West Coast zone centering on Janghang Line is being promoted as part of the Five - Zone Railway Tourism Belt development project. To develop and operate Seohae Gold Tourist Train, it is necessary to establish a master plan. To set up a master plan, reliable transportation demand prediction data are required. However, There are absolutely no studies available on the demand for tourist trains that displays a characteristic of being concentrated during weekends or holiday seasons both in Korea and abroad. This study, therefore, compositely examined the status of leisure trips and analysis results in relation to tourism demand prediction. Then, it established a method to predict the demand for tourist trains in four stages, which are traffic generation, traffic distribution, selection of transportation means and traffic allocation. Through this, it forecast the demand for Seohae Gold Tourist Train and analyzed changes in railway users" demand during tourist train operation.
적층제조된 스테인레스 316L에 대한 초음파나노표면개질에 따른 표면특성 및 부식성에 관한 연구

This study investigated the effects of ultrasonic nanocrystal surface modification (UNSM) on the deteriorated surface of AISI SUS316L additively manufactured (AM) using the powder bed fusion (PBF) technique. Specifically, the effects of UNSM conditions on surface topology, hardness, and anti-corrosion were examined. Before UNSM treatment, the stainless steel 316L powder was processed via the PBF machine to prepare a substrate. We observed surface changes due to UNSM treatments in PBF SUS316L substrates and examined the correlation between topology changes, roughness, hardness, and anti-corrosion. After UNSM treatment, the coarse as-built surface was refined, and a regular micro-profile was implemented. Compared to the non-treated PBF sample, the waviness and roughness of the surfaces after UNSM treatment decreased by up to 56.0% and 94.5%, respectively, and decreased further as the interval decreased. The hardness improved by up to 63.0% at a maximum depth of 500 μm from top surface by the UNSM treatment. The results of the corrosion test showed that the corrosion resistance of the UNSM specimens was moderately improved compared to that of the untreated surface. This study confirmed that UNSM is an effective post-processing technique for additively manufactured parts.
소형 초음속 터빈의 로터 블레이드 스윕 형상이 팁 누설 유동에 미치는 영향

본 논문에서는 슈라우드가 있는 로터 블레이드에 적용된 스윕 형상이 소형 초음속 축류 터빈 단에서 팁 간극을 통해 누설되는 흐름에 미치는 영향에 대하여 전산해석적인 방법으로 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 서로 다른 세 가지 스윕각(Sweep angle = -15°, 0°, +15°)을 적용하고 3차원 비정상 RANS 해석을 수행하여 그 결과를 서로 비교하였다. 로터 블레이드에 적용한 스윕각은 다양한 팁 누설현상에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 로터 스윕각이 클수록 팁 누설량은 감소하고 터빈효율은 증가하였다. This paper describes a computational investigation into the impact of a rotor blade sweep on the tip gap leakage flows in small supersonic impulse turbine with shrouded flat top rotor. For this purpose, three-dimensional unsteady RANS simulations have been performed with three different rotor blade sweep angles (-15°, 0°, +15°) and the results are compared with each other. The results show the rotor blade sweep affect the tip gap leakage mass flow rate and the turbine efficiency. The tip gap entrance flow blockage effect appears higher in BSW model (+15°)and the flow blockage effect of the rotor blade tip appears higher in FSW model (-15°) than others.
