The weakest point in the piston of the engine is a piston bowl edge where mechanical and thermal loads are directly transferred. One of the promising technologies to complement this issue is remelting piston crown, which increases the durability and strength of the piston. In this study, experimental study was carried out with three types of pistons (base piston, re-melting piston, and down gallery piston). Piston surface temperature was measured for the purpose of . Numerical analysis using FEM was then conducted to evaluate the experimental results. It was revealed that re-melting piston can apply to the conventional diesel engine since the piston temperature from a re-melting piston applied engine was almost the same with that from base piston engine without sacrifice of power and torque.

The thermal performance characteristics and engine validation tests are carried out to investigate re-melting reinforced cast aluminum pistons of which the bowl rim area are welded by the technology of tungsten inert gas (TIG). Diesel engine technology have progressively resulted in continuous advanced in specific power, presently reaching 70kW/L in order to cost-effectively meet demanding regulation and fuel economy. The newly designed pistons can satisfy the desirable design option for thermo-mechanical fatigue and high cycle fatigue in critically loaded areas. The combustion bowl re-melting process is described and engine validation tests such as engine power, torque and cylinder pressure are performed and show to equivalent level of a base engine. In addition, the effects of the cooling gallery on the piston temperature are studied by using templugs, which are temperature sensitive steels and are used for determining the maximum temperature in locations.

본 연구는 전남 규제자유특구사업의 일환으로 초소형전기차 진입금지 구간인 신안군 압해대교와 인접도로에 대한 주행실증을 수행하였다. 참가자는 나이, 성별, 운전경력을 기준으로 총 74명을 선정하였으며, 설문조사를 통해 주행실증 전후의 운전자 인식 변화율과 주행 실증에 따른 가감속과 차량 동특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 그 결과 초소형전기차에 대한 차량 안전성과 이동수단의 적합성에 대한 응답이 긍정적으로 변화되는 결과를 확인하였다. 또한 주행실증 구간의 운행 횟수에 따른 참가자 74명의 평균 속도 변화율과 거동 특성을 파악하였다. 향후 교통 혼잡 지역에 대한 추가적인 연구를 통해 규제완화를 위한 기초 자료로 사용할 계획이다.
디젤 엔진용 Metal DPF의 PM 저감 성능 평가에 관한 연구

In this study, the prototype was made with the use of a filter to allow the exhaust gases in small and medium-sized diesel vehicles in the engine closest to the metal line to have low temperatures. To construct the sample, the products of the leading companies in the overseas markets were consulted, and then the best filter's position was selected based on the recycled temperature condition that had been analyzed as the operating characteristic, and by separating the temperature of the exhaust gases in the actual vehicle. Valuation with a car chassis dynamometer was performed in the NEDC (new European driving cycle) mode. The samples consisted of four cars, two benchmarked from overseas, one in the NEDC mode, and another that was not mounted on DPF. The result was that the two cars benchmarked from overseas were found to be better than the sample that was not placed on MDPF by 22~25%. The prototype's reduction efficiency fell to 20%.

As the number of revolutions of the sprocket increased, the overall noise of the system and the chain noise increased linearly. The maximum noise was overall noise 87.4dB(A) and chain noise 65dB(A) at 7,000rpm. Further research is needed on the resonance caused by the tension applied to the chain and the system structure in the future and the change of the noise characteristics accordingly.
디젤 엔진용 Metal DPF의 재생평형온도(BPT) 특성에 관한 연구

In this study, a sample of the metal diesel particulate filter (MDPF) was fabricated, which was mounted on a 2.9 L mid-sized diesel engine to evaluate and analyze BPT and thus consider its application to actual diesel engine vehicles. The exhaust gas temperature on the front end of MDPF was changed at one hour interval from 20 ℃ to 30 ℃, and the resulting differential pressure and back pressure characteristics of the filter were analyzed. The international sample and D and K type samples were used for the evaluation, which were classified according to the filter structure. The BPT of the filter were 362 ℃ for the international sample, 350 ℃ for the D type sample, and 336 ℃ for the K type sample. Considering the actual vehicle temperature frequency for each section in prior studies, the results satisfied the regeneration condition in all sections other than the crowded downtown sections.
