Vol.60 No.1
The main purpose of this study is to provide meaningful and insightful information regarding the existence of shared leadership in sports teams as revealing that the leaders of sports teams are selected within the social relationship among team members. To achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted on 44 athletes of two university soccer teams which located in Seoul. After finishing data collection, each team’s leadership network was described and the densities of each leadership networks(task leadership, motivational leadership, social leadership and external leadership) were calculated by using UCINET and Netdraw. Next, QAP analysis was performed to extract correlation coefficients among each networks. Lastly, case study was performed to discuss the characteristics of two teams. As a result, the existence of shared leadership was found because some unofficial leaders who are not captain of team selected by the team members. To be specific, each leadership networks were not concentrated on a particular node and the range of density of each leadership network was from .104 to .342. Furthermore, The result of QAP analysis also revealed little bit low correlation coefficients between the four types of leadership networks. It could be considered as empirical evidence of the existence of shared leadership.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Negative capacitance (NC) phenomena is recently suggested as a breakthrough that can lead to the improved transistor by decreasing the subthreshold swing. To understand the NC phenomena, we investigated the effects of the ferroelectric properties such as the remnant polarization depending on the switching cycles in Si-doped HfO2 thin film capacitor. The ferroelectric properties were controlled by using the wake-up effect, in which the remnant polarization enhances as the number of switching cycles increase. The relation between the wake-up effect and the voltage drop region with the negative differential capacitance were elucidated. The dynamic hysteresis loops were fitted based on Landau-Khalatnikov equation, and the free energy as a function of polarization was obtained. The Landau coefficients showed that the double-well feature of the free energy becomes more apparent due to the wake-up. Based on the wake-up effect on NC phenomena, we show that the NC phenomena is well described by Landau-Ginzburg theory of ferroelectrics.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Relation between negative capacitance and ferroelectric properties explained based on Landau theory. </LI> <LI> Wake-up effects explained based on Landau theory. </LI> <LI> Effective control of ferroelectric properties using wake-up effect. </LI> </UL> </P>

Polycrystalline SrRuO3 (SRO) thin films were deposited on SiO2/Si substrate by using the DC magnetron sputtering method for application as buffer electrodes in PZT ferroelectric capacitors. The process parameters, such as the substrate temperature, the pre-heating time, the DC power and the oxygen gas ratio, were systematically varied to obtain high-quality SRO thin films. Among the various process conditions, the substrate temperature was a major factor having a significant effect on the electrical resistivity and the microstructure. Regardless of the deposition conditions, the SRO films showed a columnar structure and a highly (121) orientation at substrate temperatures higher than 450 C. The lowest resistivity obtained was about 440 μ ·cm for the 30-nm-thick SRO film deposited at 550 C. The PZT capacitor with the SRO buffer layer showed a very high remanent polarization value (2Pr 60 μC/cm2) and a small fatigue loss (10 %) after 1 × 1011 switching cycles.%

In the past decade, several tools have been developed to automate the floating-point to fixed-point conversion for DSP systems. In the conversion process, they first determine the integer/fractional word lengths for each fixed-point variable, and attempt to optimize the SQNR of the fixed-point code while precluding overflows. In this attempt, a number of scaling shifts need to be inserted into the code, and inevitably they alter the original code sequence. Recently, we have observed that a compiler can often be adversely affected by this alteration of the source code, and consequently fails to generate efficient machine code for its target processor. In this paper, we discuss how we circumvent this problem with a simple peephole optimization technique that safely migrates scaling shifts to other places within the code so that the compiler can have a higher chance to produce better code. We consider our technique to be safe in that it does not introduce new overflows, yet preserving (sometimes even improving) the original SQNR. We implemented this technique on our retargetable compiler, Soargen. The experimental results on a commercial fixed-point DSP processor exhibit that our technique is effective enough to achieve tangible improvement on code size and speed for a set of benchmarks.
