      • ER유체의 역학적 특성 변화가 ER댐퍼의 댐핑력에 미치는 영향

        This paper presents semi-active ER damper for a passenger car. Damping performance of ER damper is evaluated with respect to the temperature variation and operating cycle. An appropriate size of the ER damper for a passenger car is proposed to investigate the effects of those Bingham characteristics on the damping performance. The ER damper is designed and manufactured on the basis of Bingham model of the ER fluids. The field-dependent damping forces are evaluated according to the temperature variation. The damping forces with mechanically operated ER fluids are also predicted from Bingham model. Finally, the damping force is tested up to half million cycles to validate the estimated damping force and also to demonstrate superior durability characteristics of employed ER fluids as well as mechanical emchanism of the ER damper.

        한국농업에 있어서 원예산업의 중요성과 원예자원식물의 종류에 대하여 토의했다. 아울러 공장적 대량생산에 필요한 작물로서 갖추어야할 조건을 제시하였다. 다양한 식물공장에 관하여 소개하였으며 앞으로의 우리 나라 식물공장 연구와 실용화 방안에 대하여 의견을 제시하였다. 식물공장연구는 어느 한 기관에서 주관하기 보다는 모든 관련기관의 상호 공동 연구가 바람직하다고 사료된다.

        In this paper, the transmitted noise reduction of piezoelectric smart panels is experimentally studied. The proposed piezoelectric smart panels are comprised of plate structure on which piezoelectric sensor/actuators are bonded and sound absorbing material and/or gap are provided. It is a combination of passive and active approaches utilizing a passive effect at high frequencies and active effect at low frequencies. To prove the concept of piezoelectric smart panels, and acoustic measurement experiment is performed. An acoustic tunnel is designed and its acoustic characteristics are tested. Below 800㎐, the tunnel exhibits a plane wave guide characteristics. When an absorbing material is bonded on a single plate, a remarkable transmitted noise reduction in mid frequency range is observed except the first resonance frequency. By enabling the active control of smart single panel, much noise reduction is achieved at the resonance frequencies. The smart double panel has more potential to reduction the transmitted noise in wide range frequency. Piezoelectric smart panels incorporating passive absorbing material and active piezoelectric devices is a promising technology for noise reduction in a wide range frequency.

        Sweet Basil의 精油함량과 組成에 미치는 養液내 이온 농도의 영향

        이 연구는 sweet basil)Ocimum basilicum)을 공시재료로 하여 養液栽培시 養液의 농도가 精油의 함량과 생산량, 그리고 그 조성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 수행되었다. Sweet basil을 박막수경(NFT)시스템에서 European Vegetable R & D Center가 개발한 養液방식을 사용해 0.5배, 1배, 2배, 3배로 조제하여 재배했다. Sweet basil의 생육은 0.5배 養液일 때 가장 좋았다. 精油는 동시증류추출방법으로 추출했는데 養液의 농도가 증가할수록 精油의 함량도 증가했다. 그러나 精油의 총생산량은 0.5배인 養液에서 가장 많았다. 精油의 성분은 GC와 GC/MS를 통해 분석했다. Sweet basil의 精油에서 주성분은 linalool, methylchavicol, eugenol과 caryophyllene이었고 가장 많은 성분은 linalool이었다. Linalool과 eugenol은 2배 養液의 농도가 증가할수록 sesquiterpene의 함량도 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 養液의 농도가 달라질 때 향과 약리효과의 근원인 精油의 함량과 조성에 차이가 있는 것을 볼 때 精油의 사용전 정확한 분석과 검증이 있어야 한다는 결과를 얻었다. This experiment was carried out to find an effect of the nutri-solution concentration on the content and composition of essential oil in sweet basil(Ocimum basilicum) hydroponics. Sweet basil were grown in a hydroponic system(NFT). The used nutri solution was developed by the European Vegetable R & D Center in Belgium. They were treated in four different ionic strengths in halves, one, two and three times. The best growth of sweet basil was obtained at the half strength of the nutrient solution. The essential oil was extracted by simutaneous distilation extraction method. The content of essential oil increased, as the stregth of nutrient solution increased. But sweet basil had the most yield of essential oil at the half stregth of the nutrient solution. Composition of volatile flavor components of sweet basil was investigated by GC and GC/MS. The major component of sweet basil oil were linalool, methyl-chavicol, eugenol and caryophyllene. The most component in sweet basil oil was linalool. The highest content of linalool and eugenol were found in two strength of the nutrient solution. The content of sesquiterpene increased with an increase of the concentration of nutrient solution.

      • Evaluation and Comparison of Air and Microclimate Temperature Effect on the Population Dynamics of Greenhouse Whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) in Cherry Tomato Grown in Greenhouses

        Population dynamics of greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum, were modeled and simulated to compare the temperature effects of air and tomato leaf inside greenhouse using DYMEX model simulator. The population phenology model of T. vaporariorum was developed and simulated. Leaf temperature on reversed side of cherry tomato leafs was monitored according to three tomato plant positions (top, >1.6m above the ground level; middle, 0.9 - 1.2m; bottom, 0.3 - 0.5m) using an infrared temperature gun. Air temperature was monitored at same three positions using a temperature logger. The leaf temperatures from three plant positions were described as a function of the air temperatures. The number of T. vaporariorum immatures was counted by visual inspection in three positions to verify the performance of DYMEX simulation. A significant positive correlation between the observed and the predicted numbers of immature and adults was found when the leaf temperatures were incorporated into DYMEX simulation, but no significant correlation was observed with air temperatures. This study demonstrated that the population dynamics of T. vaporariorum was affected greatly by the leaf temperatures, rather than air temperatures in cherry tomato greenhouses.         A 90 day repeated oral toxicity study on plantamajoside concentrate from Plantago asiatica

        <P>Plantago asiatica is distributed widely in East Asia. Since ancient times it has been used as a diuretic to treat acute urinary infections, and as an antiinflammatory, antiasthmatic, antioxidant, antibacterial, antihyperlipidemic and antihepatitis drug. The major compound, plantamajoside from P. asiatica, which is used as a marker compound in chemotaxonomic studies, was reported to have antibacterial activity, inhibition activity against cAMP phosphodiesterase and 5-lipoxygenase and antioxidant activity. However, there are no reports on the safety of plantamajoside. This study assessed the toxic effects of plantamajoside concentrate (PC), the purity of which was above 80%, in rats following administration at dose levels of 0, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg/kg body weight/day for 13 weeks, as recommended by the OECD guidelines. The results showed that there were no differences in body weight, food intake, water consumption, relative organ weight or the hematological and serum biochemical values among the different dosage groups. No death or abnormal clinical signs were observed during the experimental period. Therefore, the results suggested that no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of the PC in rats after oral administration is considered to be greater than 2000 mg/kg in rats under the conditions employed in this study.         A Multivariate Statistical Approach to Comparison of Essential Oil Composition from Three Mentha Species

        The chemical composition of essential oils obtained from aerial parts in spearmint, apple mint and chocolate mint, was investigated by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry analyses. (-)-Carvone (33.0%) was quantitatively major compound in spearmint, followed by R-(+)-limonene (11.7%) and ${\beta}$-phellandrene (9.7%); (-)-carvone (37.4%) and germacrene D (11.9%) in apple mint; and (-)-menthol (34.3%), p-menthone (18.4%) and menthofuran (9.8%) in chocolate mint. Hierarchical cluster analysis and principle components analysis showed the clear difference in chemical composition of the three mint oils.
