Pyriminobac-methyl과 azimsulfuron 합제의 신규제형인 분산형 정제에 대한 독성 평가

Dispersible tablets disintegrate either to form a stabilized suspension rapidly in water, or to disperse instantaneously in the rice field without the aid of water. In this study, the newly formulated dispersible tablet form of herbicidal combination, pyriminobac-methyl and azimsulfuron, was evaluated the safety for human and animals in the toxicological viewpoints. The LD_(50) value of dispersible tablet form for pyriminobac-methyl and azimsulfuron was above 2,500 mg/kg for the oral route and above 2,000 mg/kg for the dermal route. It is considered to have low acute oral and dermal toxicity based on the findings of the present studies. In addition, the combination of pyriminobac-methyl and azimsulfuron showed mild skin irritant under the conditions of this study and conjunctival redness and slight opacity on cornea appeared from 1 hour after application.

Various methods have been used to fill in the defects around the implants. Recently, researchs of developing and purifying various growth factors, and efforts to apply these growth factors in clinical situations have been carried out. Among those tries, platelet-rich plasma(PRP) containing abundant PDGF and TGF-β obtained by the sequestration and concentration of platelets by the gradient density centrifugation became one of the popular and preferred methods becuase of relatively simple procedure and abundant growth factor components. Bone morphogenic protein(BMP), platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF), and transforming growth factor-beta(TGF-β) are growth factors in the PRP that promote the bone formation. To elucidate the effects of PRP on the bone formation in peri-implant bone defects, twenty-seven Steri-Oss implants were inserted in the mandibular premolar areas of 8 adult dogs and artificial bone defects(3×4×4㎜) were prepared at the buccal side of the implants in 1st premolar, at the distal side of the implants in 3rd premolar. The control groups were filled with bovine bone grafts without PRP, and the experimental groups were filled with bovine bone grafts with PRP. Animals were sacrificed at 1, 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks after the operation and speimens were observed by light and electron microscope. The results were as follows. first, the bone formation was observed at 1st week in the experimental groups, but at 2nd week in the control groups. second, the mature bone was observed at 4th week in the experimental groups. but 8th week in the control groups. the bone growth rate of experimental groups was more rapid than that of control groups. third, at 12th week, bone density ratio was higher in the experimental groups(71.65%) than that of the control groups(48.49%). fourth, Grafted bovine bone were almost completely absorbed at 1st week in experimental groups, but it was still present at 8th week in control groups. From the above results, PRP may accelerate the formation of new bone by promoting absorption of the graft material and increasing the growth rate of bone.

Hemifacial microsomia(HFM) is a craniofacial disorder and complex malformation syndrome with a variable and asymmetric malformation involving first and second pharyngeal arch derivatives. Multiple etiological mechanisms for HFM have been considered. Mechanisms proposed include genetic factors, early embryogenesis insults involving abnormal neural crest development and migration, and stapedial artery hematoma. HFM is the second most common craniofacial malformation but has been rarely reported in korea, and we report five cases of HFM in temporal bone CT findings. The temporal bone CT findings of five patients aged 6 days and 19 years(mean, 9 years) with hemifacial microsomia were reviewed and evaluated. Particular attention was focused on auricular malformation, external auditory canal, volume of middle ear cavity, ossicular anomaly, facial nerve anomaly and inner ear anomaly. In all patients, temporal bone CT scans revealed the stenosis or atresia of external auditory canals, decreased middle ear cavities, matoid underdevelopment and ossicular anomalies including ossicular ankylosis, but only one patient showed facial nerve or inner ear anomaly. In conclusion, temporal bone CT scan is a useful diagnosis modality of hemifacial microsomia, which is especially more useful in preoperative evaulation and estimation of postoperative prognosis that demonstate middle and inner ear anomalies.

Changbudodamhwan(CBH) is used in female infertility caused by ovulation disorder. An attempt was made to evaluate the influences of CBH on the serum concentrations of FSH, LH, estradiol(E_(2)) and progesterone, the histological and optical changes of ovary, ovary weight of rats. The results of the study were as follows : 1. Blood FSH level increased experimental group as compared with control group, which showed no efficacy. 2. Blood LH level increased in experimental group as compared with control group, which showed no efficacy. 3. Blood E_(2) level increased in experimental group as compared with control group, which showed no efficacy. 4. Blood progesterone level increased in experimental group as compared with control group, which showed no efficacy. 5. In optically observations of ovary, weight of ovary increased in experimental group as compared with control group, which showed no efficacy. 6. In histological observations of ovary, ovulation increased in experimental group as compared control group, which showed efficacy. According to these results, CBH influence on the ovulation and ovary of rats.
Carbosulfan의 피부자극성, 안점막 자극성 및 피부감작성등의 알러지성 효과에 관한 연구

Many studies have been published on the human health effects of carbosulfan toxicity. Carbosulfan used as an insecticide can produce an irritating and allergenic effect when acting on the skin. In this study, a sensitization test on albino guinea pigs and intradermal reactivity and occular irritation test on albino rabbits were carried out with carbosulfan. Signs of acute skin inflammation appeared along with the clinical symptom of chronic dermatosis caused by the solution irritating characteristics. Moreover, carbosulfan showed severe eye irritation with conjuctival redness and severe opacity on cornea. Preventive measures should involve workers' obligatory instructions on the noxious impact on human skin and strict observance of industrial safety rules.

Metamifop, (R)-2-[4-[(6-chloro-2-benzoxazolyloxyphenoxy]-N-(2-fluorophenyl)-N-methyl propanamide, was newly developed by Dongbu Hannong Chemicals in Korea. In the present study we conducted acute oral toxicity and acute dermal toxicity test. The values of LD_(50) of metamifop was found to be over 5,000 mg/kg for ICR mice. On the other hand, metamifop showed no acute dermal toxicity to SD rats.

<P>The responses to phosphate starvation by PhoR-PhoB two-component regulatory system are also affected by other regulatory systems in Escherichia coli. The interactions among PhoB, PhoR, PhoU and CreC were investigated at transcript and protein levels using real-time PCR and fluorescence resonance energy transfer analyses. CreC showed an interaction with PhoB, before an interaction between PhoB and PhoR, suggesting that this acts as a constant sensor for the early response to phosphate starvation. PhoU was found to interact with neither PhoB nor PhoR, while this acted as a phosphate starvation-inducible protein. These results showed the detailed time- and phosphate concentration-dependent interactions among PhoB, PhoR, PhoU and CreC in response to phosphate starvation in E. coli.</P>
Novel gene members in the Pho regulon of<i>Escherichia coli</i>

<P>The transcriptome profiles of the wild-type and the phoB mutant strains were compared at the time point showing the highest expression levels of the phoB and phoR genes under a P-limiting condition. Among the 18 new putative genes that were found to be under the control of the PhoB transcriptional regulator, five genes that contain the consensus Pho box were identified by sequence analysis. A reporter gene assay was carried out by fusing the upstream regions of these genes to the promoterless enhanced green fluorescent protein gene, followed by expression. It was found that the expressions of the amn (AMP nucleosidase), yibD (metal ion stress response gene) and ytfK (hypothetical protein) genes were activated by PhoB. These results indicate the additional roles of PhoB as a global regulator.</P>
