Betaine reduces cellular melanin content via suppression of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor in B16-F1 murine melanocytes

Long-term topical skin care by traditional antimelanogenic agents can raise several safety concerns. An understanding of the molecular mechanisms of active compounds on melanogenesis is, therefore, necessary to address pigmentation issues. Here we revealed that stimulation with 1 mM betaine, an abundant component in rice bran, significantly reduced 21% of intracellular melanin content by suppressing tyrosinase activity and microphthalmia- associated transcription factor (MITF) expression in B16-F1 murine melanocytes. The expression of MITF was suppressed at both mRNA and protein levels by 43 and 44%, respectively. Subsequently, the betaine-stimulated melanocytes showed inhibition of PKA-CREB signaling axis but activation of extracellular-signal-regulated kinase and AKT-GSK3b signaling pathways. This inhibition and activation led to downregulation of MITF expression at both the transcriptional and post-translational levels to suppress melanin synthesis. These findings collectively suggested that betaine is a potential anti-melanogenic compound for functional foods and cosmetics.

이미지 강화 활동을 통한 한국어 의지 표현 ‘-(으)ㄹ 거예요’의 수업 방안 연구

This study discussed ways to efficiently educate Korean will express ‘-(으)ㄹ 거예요’through image-related activities. To this end, the grammar properties of ‘-(으)ㄹ 거예요’ were examined, and a method was proposed to visualize and educate grammar education in the educational field by combining the activities of applying visual thinking to the part used in the step-by-step class plan. In the field of Korean grammar education, various attempts are made for efficient grammar education. Expanding from the traditional meta-lingual teaching method, we sought ways to enable clear awareness of the target grammar by drawing pictures of the communication situation in which the target grammar is used through image association activities and engaging in empathy activities among learners. Through the process of sharing ideas about communication situations, learners can increase their interest in grammar classes and actively participate in learning. If attempts on these educational methods are accumulated, it can contribute to establishing more diverse and interesting educational methods.

이미지 강화 활동 기반 조건 연결어미 ‘-아야/어야’의 교육 방안

이 연구는 교사 발화 중심의 한국어 문법 교육에서 벗어나 한국어 학습자들이 문법 수업에 능동적으로 참여하고 목표 문법 지식을 이미지 강화 활동을 통해 내재화할 수 있는 방안을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 목표 문법인 조건 연결어미 ‘-아야/어야’의 의미와 문법 특성을 살펴보았다. 또한 플립 러닝, 형태 초점 교수법, 시각화 등의 교수 기법을 이론적 배경으로 한 교수 절차를 제안하고, 이 교수 절차를 기반으로 이미지 강화를 통한 한국어 연결어미 ‘-아야/어야’의 단계별 교육 방안에 대해 논의하였다. 이 연구에서 제안한 교수 절차와 교육 방안은 이미지 강화를 통해 한국어 학습자의 능동적인 학습 참여를 유도할 수 있다는 의의가 있다. 하지만 한국어 학습자들이 문법 수업에 능동적으로 참여할 수 있도록 하는 데에서 교사의 부담이 크고, 이 연구에서 제안한 교수 절차와 교육 방안의 효용성을 검증해 보지 못한 것은 연구의 한계로 남는다. 그럼에도 불구하고 기존 메타언어 기반 한국어 문법 교육을 벗어나 문법 사용 상황을 실질적으로 인지할 수 있는 이미지 강화 기반의 교육 방안을 제안한 것은 의의가 있다고 하겠다.

코퍼스 기반 중등 영어과 교육과정 어휘 수준 분석

The purpose of the study was three-fold: 1) to analyze vocabulary size in English texts written for the secondary school English curriculum, 2) to examine the effects of 80% vocabulary control on vocabulary size in different sets of textbooks, and 3) to compare vocabulary size between CSATs and textbooks. The study compiled a million word corpus of curricular texts including textbooks, CSATs, and EBS books. RANGE program was used to analyze the vocabulary size and text coverage in the corpus. The results demonstrated that 4,000 to 5,000 words were needed to reach 95% text coverage of curricular texts, which is at odds with the myth that 3,000 words are enough for the school curriculum. The analysis of textbooks showed that a learner is likely to encounter 4,000 words through the textbooks, while acquiring less than 3,000 words if low-frequent words are excluded for consideration. Those 3,000 words were far short of vocabulary size necessary for CSATs, which required more than 5,000 words to reach 95 percent coverage. After all, the vocabulary control movement in the national curriculum produced a large difference in vocabulary size across textbooks, which does not ease the students’ vocabulary learning burden. The paper ends with suggestions for future directions for revision of the vocabulary control in the national English curriculum.

2022학년도 신입생 실태조사: k대학을 중심으로

목적 본 연구는 2022학년도 k대학교 신입생 실태조사를 통해 대학생활에 대한 기대와 태도, 학업 및 진로 계획 등을 분석하여 대학운영을 위한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 방법 본 연구의 설문조사는 2022년 12월 20일부터 2022년 12월 22일까지 3일에 걸쳐서 온라인으로 이루어졌고 SPSS를 활용하여 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과에 대한 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학은 교내에서 일할 수 있는 기회 제공 및 장학금을 확대해야 한다. 둘째, 고등학교 졸업생을 대상으로 입학설명회, 홍보 프로그램을 제공하고 원서작성 및 접수시기에 홍보 및 체험 프로그램을 확대해야한다. 셋째, 대학홈페이지를 개선해야 한다. 넷째, 대학의 이미지 개선 및 만족도를 높여야 한다. 다섯째, 실기/실습 수업을 확대해야한다. 여섯째, 교수학습센터는 기초학습 프로그램, 자기계발 프로그램, 학습동아리 등을 개선하여 학습 및 시간관리에 도움을 주어야 한다. 일곱째, 취업진로센터는 자격증 취득 강좌를 확대하고 선배 및 외부 전문가 특강을 활용하여 진로탐색을 도와야 한다. 여덟째, 학생상담센터는 신입생의 학업문제, 적성 및 진로문제에 관심을 기울여야 한다. 결론 본 연구는 k대학 신입생의 특성과 요구를 확인하고 이를 토대로 신입생 프로그램 및 제도를 마련하기 위한 방향을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

학습공동체 프로그램 참여가 대학생의 의사소통능력 및 협동학습역량에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 학습공동체 프로그램 참여가 대학생의 의사소통능력 및 협동학습역량에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2018년 2학기에 A대학교 재학생 296명을 대상으로 사전·사후 설문조사를 실시하였고 SPSS를 사용하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습공동체 프로그램 참여가 대학생의 협동학습역량에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 하위요인별 분석에서는 협동학습역량의 학습참여, 학습만족도 요인에서 프로그램 전후 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 학년별 차이를 살펴본 바, 2학년과 3학년에서 프로그램 전후 협동학습역량이 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 넷째, 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 학습공동체 프로그램 활동 및 후속 연구에 대한 시사점을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 대학에서 진행되는 학습공동체 활동이 대학생의 의사소통능력 및 협동학습역량에 미치는 영향을 분석하였고 학습공동체 활동의 체계적인 운영과 지원을 위한 실천적인 방안을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of participation in the learning community program on the communication skills and cooperative learning capabilities of college students. To this end, in the second semester of 2018, pre and post surveys were conducted on 296 students at A University and analyzed using SPSS. The main research results are as follows. First, there was a significant difference in the participation of the learning community program in the cooperative learning capacity of college students. Second, in the analysis by sub-factors, there were significant differences before and after the program in the factors of cooperative learning competency learning participation and learning satisfaction. Third, the differences between grades showed significant differences between the 2nd and 3rd grades before and after the program. Fourth, based on the results of this study, suggestions were made for learning community program activities and follow-up studies. The results of this study analyzed the effects of learning community activities conducted at universities on the communication skills and cooperative learning capabilities of college students, and presented practical measures for the systematic operation and support of learning community activities.
