Measurements of temperature fields and film-cooling effectiveness have been conducted for a shower-head film cooling on the leading edge of a blunt body, which simulates a first-stage turbine stator. In this study, three injection cases are employed for an average blowing ratio based on freestream velocity, M, of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5. Two (Case 1), four (Case 2) and six (Case 3) rows of normal holes are symmetrically drilled on the three tested circular-cylinder leading edges. The measurements show that regardless of M, the film-cooling effectiveness increases as the injection row is situated at farther downstream location. In Case 1, the film-cooling effectiveness is highest for M = 0.5 and lowest for M = 1.5. On the contrary, in Case 3, the film-cooling effectiveness is highest for M = 1.0 and lowest for M = 0.5. When M = 0.5, the film coverage by the first row of the injection holes deteriorates as the number of the injection row increases. In particular, the film-cooling effectiveness due to the injection through the first row of the holes in Case 3, has a nearly zero value.
Confucian Values and Democracy in South Korea
정철희 한국학중앙연구원 한국학중앙연구원 2013 THE REVIEW OF KOREAN STUDIES Vol.16 No.2
This paper investigates the influence of cultural tradition on democracy in South Korea, with a particular focus on Confucian values. Confucian values comprise a positive attitude towards worldly affairs, a life-style of sustained discipline and self-cultivation, respect for authority, and familial collectivism. The data relies on a national survey conducted in 2000. Survey analyses served to provide empirical evidence that previous speculative debates lacked. The evidence shows that Confucian tradition exerts no effect on popular support for political democracy but has a negative impact on support for democracy in social relations. However, the authoritarian effect of Confucian values weakens in the presence of other social forces such as urbanization and Christianity. Protestant belief and growing up in an urban area diminish the negative effects of Confucianism. This suggests that Confucianism is adapted to new social trends and that the relationship between tradition and modernity is not one of antithesis, but of mutual accommodation.
포스트 코로나 시대, 교육 정책 결정 원리의 변화 필요성: Dewey의 ‘직접적 인식’과 ‘질성’ 개념을 중심으로
정철희 한국교육철학회 2020 교육철학 Vol.76 No.-
In the current COVID-19 crisis, our social institutions and policies are fundamentally transforming. Educational policy is also need to be change a lot. Despite educational policies should be determined by educational principles, ours are determined by political and economic principles. This situation bring great confusion in the school site. I criticized that existing policy decisions were made by a mediated perception that relies on statistics and data by Dewey's concept of 'appreciation'. Next, I argued that the deliberations in the policy making process should be changed from scientific and mechanical to contextual and qualitative. Qualitative deliberation is a process that actively reflect to the needs and values of various members and a good clue to overcome the rigid sense. It will make our school site as an educational community rather than a bureaucratic community.
Radiation Exposure of the Hand and Chest during C-arm Fluoroscopy-Guided Procedures
정철희,류재성,백승우,오지혜,우남식,김혜경,김재훈 대한통증학회 2013 The Korean Journal of Pain Vol.26 No.1
Background:The C-arm fluoroscope is an essential tool for the intervention of pain. The aim of this study was to investigate the radiation exposure experienced by the hand and chest of pain physicians during C-arm fluoroscopy-guided procedures. Methods:This is a prospective study about radiation exposure to physicians during transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) and medial branch block (MBB). Four pain physicians were involved in this study. Data about effective dose (ED) at each physician’s right hand and left side of the chest, exposure time, radiation absorbed dose (RAD), and the distance from the center of the X-ray field to the physician during X-ray scanning were collected. Results:Three hundred and fifteen cases were included for this study. Demographic data showed no significant differences among the physicians in the TFESIs and MBBs. In the TFESI group, there was a significant difference between the ED at the hand and chest in all the physicians. In physician A, B and C, the ED at the chest was more than the ED at the hand. The distance from the center of the X-ray field to physician A was more than that of the other physicians, and for the exposure time, the ED and RAD in physician A was less than that of the other physicians. In the MBB group, there was no difference in the ED at the hand and chest, except for physician D. The distance from the center of the X-ray field to physician A was more than that of the other physicians and the exposure time in physician A was less than that of the other physicians. Conclusions:In conclusion, the distance from the radiation source, position of the hand, experience and technique can correlate with the radiation dose.
