        The purpose of this study was to obtain new data for science education by comparing scientificresearch and analysis ability of two different groups of elementary school students; one consisted ofgifted children and the other of children of general ability. Two groups of 6th graders were used forthis study: one consisted of 20 students from a class of gifted students in science and the other 30 stu-dents from a regular class. Each group carried out experiments individually to find the causes thataffect a pendulum’s cycle. In this research, we were gauged children’s research ability in the follow-ing four areas “strategies in confirming prediction”, “variable controlling”, “evidence evaluation”, and“drawing conclusions". It was discovered that the scientific research and analysis ability of science-gifted children is much higher than of regular students, and this appears to be characteristic of a spe-cific group of gifted students. We also found that there were a number of students with predominantlyhigh research ability in the regular students group and that 13% of the science-gifted students showscientific research ability equal to the average score of the regular students.

        재한 중국인 유학생의 문화·심리사회적 적응을 위한 REBT 프로그램 개발 및 효과

        The purpose of this study is to develop and conduct an REBT(Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) program for the cultural and psychosocial adjustment of Chinese students studying in Korea, and verify its effect. So we developed ten-session program, based on REBT model, enhancing the cultural adjustment and psychosocial adjustment which includes the schoolwork and social adaptation of Chinese students in Korea. Selected subjects were 16 Chinese International students who received more than 145 on acculturative stress scale, 20 on depression index (BDI) and 55 on anxiety index (STAI) and Level 4 in Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK), and randomly assigned to either a treatment or control group. The REBT program was organized with additional problem-solving skills training and social skills training, and a 120-minute session was offered weekly for ten weeks. The main findings of this study are as follows. First, after the REBT program, unlike the control group, the treatment group's overall score on the acculturative stress was significantly reduced. Second, unlike the control group, the treatment group showed a significant improvement in the schoolwork adaptation and social adaptation. Third, unlike the control group, the treatment group's depression and anxiety levels were reduced. Fourth, according to the 2-year post-therapy checkup, the effectiveness of the therapy was found to be maintained. 본 연구의 목적은 재한 중국인 유학생의 문화·심리사회적 적응을 위한 REBT 프로그램을 개발, 실시하여 그 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 REBT 모델을 적용하여 재한 중국인 유학생의 문화적응 및 학업문제와 대인관계 문제를 포함하는 심리사회적 적응을 돕는 10회기 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 문화적응 스트레스 척도 145점 이상, 우울 척도(BDI) 20점 이상, 불안 척도(STAI) 55점 이상의 중복 기준에 해당하고, 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 중급 4급 이상을 취득한 중국인 유학생 16명을 선별하고 실험집단과 통제집단에 각각 무선 배정하였다. 프로그램은 REBT프로그램에 문제해결훈련과 사회기술훈련을 추가하여 구성하였으며, 주 1회, 120분씩 총 10회기에 걸쳐 진행되었다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프로그램 실시 후 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 문화적응 스트레스가 유의하게 감소하였다. 둘째, 프로그램 실시 후 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 학업적응과 사회적응이 유의하게 증가하였다. 셋째, REBT 프로그램 실시 후 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 우울 및 불안이 감소하였다. 넷째, 프로그램 종료 2개월 후와 2년 후에도 프로그램의 효과는 지속적으로 유지되는 것으로 나타났다.

        산수유 분말 첨가 머핀의 품질특성

        The purpose of this study was to examine the qualities of muffins made with 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8% Corni fructus powder. The height of the muffins did not significantly differ between the sample groups; however, the weight of the control group was higher than that of the test samples containing Corni fructus powder. The volume and specific loaf volume of muffins decreased with the addition of Corni fructus powder. The baking loss of the samples containing Corni fructus powder was also higher than that of the control group. The moisture content of the control group was 19.88%, whereas that of the test samples ranged from 16.72~21.01%. The pH of batters and muffins of the test samples were lower than those of the control group. For DPPH radical scavenging activity, the control group measured 11.46%, whereas the test samples ranged from 22.63~53.33%. The L and b values of the crust and crumbs decreased, but the a value was increased significantly by the addition of Corni fructus powder. Examination of the textural properties revealed the hardness, gumminess and brittleness of muffins containing Corni fructus powder were significantly higher than those of the control group. In term of overall preference, the sensory evaluation scores of groups containing 2% and 4% of Corni fructus powder did not show significant differences compared to the control group. Based on the above results, using Corni fructus powder at less than 4% would be appropriate for making muffins.

        지리산 지역 자생식물 활용 천연보존제 융합 연구

        The purpose of the study aimed to explore the possibility for natural preservative convergence materials by examining the antioxidant activity and antimicrobial effect of 19 wild plants in Jiri Mountain. Total polyphenols were higher in the order of CS(Camellia sinensis L., 87.9 mg GAE/ g), MP(Mentha piperascens Holmes., 85.1 mg), NN(Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn., 65.0 mg) and PD(Pinus densiflora Siebold & Zucc., 52.8 mg). Total flavonoids were high in NN(25.7 mg QUE / g) and MP (25.4 mg QUE / g). CS(58.1%), NN(47.9%), and MP(40.6%) showed high ABTS radical scavenging ability and the result was similar in DPPH radical scavenging ability. The extracts of HC(Hemerocallis coreana Nakai.), PD, and CO(Cornus officinalis Siebold et Zucc.) showed the highest inhibitory effect on the growth of E. coli. The extracts of PK(Pulsatilla koreana Nakai ex Nakai.), SC(Saururus chinensis Baill.), and MC(Smilax china L.) completely inhibited the proliferation of S. aureus, showing the possibility to be developed as natural preservatives and disinfectants. 본 연구는 지리산 자생식물 19종을 선별하여 항산화 활성 및 항균 효과를 조사하여 천연보존제 융합소재 탐색을 목적으로 하였다. 총폴리페놀은 차나무(87.9 mg GAE/g), 박하(85.1 mg), 연(65.0 mg), 소나무(52.8 mg) 순으로 높은 값을 나타내었다. 총플라보노이드는 연(25.7 mg QUE/g)과 박하(25.4 mg QUE/g)에서 높은 함유량을 나타내었다. 100 μg/mL 농도에서 차나무(58.1%), 연(47.9%), 박하(40.6%) 순으로 높은 ABTS radical 소거능을 나타냈으며, DPPH radical 소거능도 비슷한 경향을 나타내었다. 골잎원추리, 솔잎, 산수유 종자 추출물이 E. coli의 증식억제능이 가장 높았고, 할미꽃, 삼백초, 청미래덩굴 추출물은 S. aureus균의 증식을 완전히 억제하여 향후 천연보존 및 방부제 등의 융합소재로 개발가능성을 확인하였다.
