군산 금성리층 천매암의 변형 미구조에 대한 연구: 지진파 비등방성에 대한 함의

운모류는 각섬석과 함께 대륙지각을 이루는 주요 광물 중에서 지진파 비등방성이 강한 광물군에 속한다. 특히 20-40% 이상이 운모류로 구성된 암석일 경우 지진파 비등방성의 강도나 대칭성이 운모류의 배열에 크게 영향을 받을 수 있다. 그러므로 대륙 지각에서 나타나는 지진파 비등방성의 원인을 밝혀내기 위해서는 운모류가 다량 포함된 암석에 대한 연구가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 전북 군산 지역의 금성리층을 이루는 백운모-석영 천매암을 대상으로 FE-SEM/EBSD (Electron Backscattered Diffraction) 기기를 사용하여 주구성광물의 격자선호방향(lattice preferred orientation, LPO)을 측정하였다. 이 연구에서 분석된 5개의 천매암 시료는 주로 백운모, 석영, 조장석, 녹니석과 소량의 흑운모, 방해석, 금홍석, 티탄철석으로 이루어져 있다. 운모류와 구성광물의 성분비에 따른 지진파 비등방성의 특성과 강도 변화를 밝혀내기 위해 다양한 운모 조성비를 가진 시료를 맵핑(mapping) 기법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 또한 M-index를 계산하여 광물의 LPO의 강도와 지진파 비등방성의 관계를 조사하였다. 분석 결과, 백운모의 경우 대부분 [001]축이 엽리에 수직으로 강하게 배열되었고, [100]축과 [010]축이 엽리에 평행하게 배열되었다. 녹니석 역시 백운모와 비슷한 배열을 보여주었다. 석영의 경우 basal<a>, rhomb<a>, prism<a> 슬립계(slip system)를 주로 보이며, G102 시료의 경우 교차 테(crossed girdle) 형태를 보여주었다. 조장석의 경우 대부분의 시료에서 (001)면과 (010)면의 극(pole)이 동시에 엽리에 수직으로 배열되는 것이 관찰되었다. 측정된 LPO 데이터를 바탕으로 대표 시료 5개에 대하여, 각 광물과 성분비로 조합한 각 시료 전암(whole rock)에 대한 지진파 비등방성을 계산하였다. 석영의 경우 P파 비등방성(AVp)이 2.8-7.1%, 최대 S파 비등방성(AVs)이 3.5-9.8%로 계산되었으며, 조장석의 경우 AVp가 1.2-15.6%, 최대 AVs가 1.3-24.8%로 계산되었다. 반면, 백운모의 경우 AVp가 43.4-51.1%, 최대 AVs가 41.9-59.1%로 크게 계산되고 녹니석의 경우 AVp 가 21.4-29.4%, 최대 AVs가 34.9-56.8%로 계산되어 다른 광물과 비교했을 때 아주 큰 수치를 보여주었다. 광물 성분비를 반영하여 전암의 지진파 비등방성을 계산한 결과, AVp가 9.0-21.7%, 최대 AVs가 9.6-24.2%로 크게 계산되었다. 이 연구 결과를 통해 운모류의 성분비와 배열 상태가 지진파 비등방성의 강도와 대칭성에 크게 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면, 석영과 조장석의 경우 운모류에 비해 격자선호방향이 강하게 집중되지 않으며, 이로 인해 지진파 비등방성의 강도가 약하게 나타났다. 그 결과, 전암에 대한 계산에서 석영과 장석의 성분비가 높을수록 비등방성의 강도가 약해지며, 운모류의 성분비가 높을수록 비등방성의 강도와 대칭성이 강해짐을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 백운모와 녹니석의 [001] 축들이 같은 방향으로 배열되기 때문에, 해당 광물들이 함께 산출되는 시료에서는 지진파 비등방성이 더욱 강해지는 경향을 밝혀냈다.

The folk culture in different ethnic groups forms strong regional characteristic residential areas during the long-term exchanges and integration but still maintain their ethnic characteristics. These minorities’ living space environment varies from the influence of ethnic cultures’ integration which reflects the cultural characteristics of different ethnic groups. This article uses three representative ethnic minorities Manchu, Korea nationality, Oroqen as the research object specifically addressed the traditional ethnic characteristics of the living space and environment. To explore the spatial form and reasons of these traditional houses and the residential environments’ common points and differences. Also explore the form factors of the spirit of the traditional space environment, the impact of living culture on residential patterns and internal structure. These national cultures are constantly changing in today’s progressive society. Inherit and carry forward the national customs and traditional houses of the space environment play an important role in the development of the future architecture of traditional houses and regional culture.

Residents of apartment houses in contemporary society live in the same living spaces, but they do not know each other and those who live upstairs and downstairs of each other have frequent conflicts because of floor noise. They are also unwilling to actively participate in finding solutions to common problems. Residents do not think the public spaces are their own, and consequently, this makes the residential environment of the public spaces look too uninviting. The importance of public spaces in apartment complexes has not been understood and roles of public spaces have not been sufficiently considered in the planning stage. This study aimed to present a planning paradigm of apartment complexes in a comprehensive aspect focusing on the types of common spaces at apartment houses. For this purpose, this study typified the concept of common space based on previous studies, and integrated relevant institutions and the results of previous studies to develop an evaluation instrument.

항로표지집약관리시스템의 전력계통 분석연구

과학 기술의 발전에 따라 항로표지시설의 무인화, 자동화가 이어지면서 항로표지집약관리시스템의 필요성이 대두되었다. 지난해 첨단전자항법시스템(E-Navigation)을 장기과제로 채택하고 관련 시스템들이 도입되면서 장비마다의 소모 전력이 증가되었다. 항로 표지시설의 전력공급체계가 중요해짐에 따라 항로표지집약관리시스템 계획과 사업추진에 생산전력 및 공급에 필요한 발전장치, 축전장치의 역할과, 이론 및 실제적 분석을 통해 보다 안정적이고 미래 지향적인 전력계통 시설방향을 모색해 보고자 한다.

톨스토이와 ‘다이어트의 윤리’

톨스토이의 에세이 「첫걸음」은 원래 하워드 윌리엄스가 쓴 채식주의 고전 『다이어트의 윤리』의 러시아어 번역본 서문으로 기획되었다. 그러나 번역이 차일피일 미루어지자 톨스토이는 그 서문을 독립적인 에세이로 출간했다. 그동안 「첫걸음」은 두 가지 방향에서 해석되어 왔다. 첫째는 『다이어트의 윤리』와 같은 맥락, 즉 휴머니즘과 동물보호에 입각한 채식주의 옹호라는 맥락이고, 둘째는 정욕과 직결되는 육식의 폐해라고 하는 맥락이다. 그러나 이 에세이에서 톨스토이가 주장하는 바는 육식과 채식의 문제보다 훨씬 포괄적인 윤리의 문제로 연장된다. 「첫걸음」은 단순히 무엇을 먹을 것인가의 문제가 아닌, 어떻게 먹을 것인가. 그리고 더 나아가 어떻게 살것인가의 문제를 제기 하며 그렇기 때문에 그것은 도덕론과 필연적으로 연관된다. 또 바로 이 점에서 「첫걸음」은 1897년의 저술 『예술이란 무엇인가』를 예견한다. 『예술이란 무엇인가』 역시 어떤 예술이 좋은 예술인가에 관해 말하고 있는 듯 하지만 실제로는 어떻게 살것인가에 대한 논의로 마무리되기 때문이다. 톨스토이에게는 음식도, 예술도 모두 음식 그 자체나 예술 그 자체로서가 아닌, 그가 추구하는 궁극의 윤리를 전달하기 위한 코드로 작용한다. This article is focused on the meaning of Tolstoi's essay “The First Step”, which has been read as a vegetarianism guidebook. It was originally planned as a preface to a Russian translation of Howard Williams's vegetarianism classic The Ethics of Diet. Scholars have interpreted the meaning of “The First Step” from two different angles. First, some believe that Tolstoi advocates vegetarianism like Williams on the basis of humanitarianism and animal rights. Others believe that vegetarianism for Tolstoi reflects his asceticism in which lust and flesh-eating are two different sides of the same evil. However, as this article shows, what is at issue in the essay is not ‘what to eat(vegetable or meat)’, but ‘how to eat’ and by analogy ‘how to live’. In this sense “The First step” anticipates the infamous What is art? Here again what is at issue is not ‘what is good art’ but ‘how to lead a good life’. For Tolstoi both food and art function as a code to send the author's ultimate message on ethics.

미국인 온리 콤판의 이순신 만화 속 오리엔탈리즘과 수용

언제부터인가 국내에 온리 콤판(Onrie Kompan)이라는 미국인이 임진왜란과 이순신에 대한 만화를 제작하여 미국 내에서 상당한 성공을 거뒀고, 한국어판 번역본을 출판하게 되었다는 뉴스가 심심치 않게 보도되었다. 이 소식은 마치 서양에서 이순신이 ‘높게 평가받은’ 하나의 사례와도 같이 인식되면서 한국인들에게는 기분 좋은 뉴스로 다가왔다. 그리고 콤판은 한국의 이순신 관련 학회, 강연 등에 초청받으면서 한국의 역사와 그 역사속 영웅을 미국을 비롯한 세계에 홍보하고 있는 친한파 미국인으로서 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 콤판의 만화의 내용과 그 속에 담긴 오리엔탈리즘적인 요소들을 고려했을 때에는, 이것이 단지 이순신과 한국의 역사를 ‘높게 평가한’ 사례로만 볼 수 있을지 의구심이 든다. 마찬가지로 이것이 서양에 전파되었을 때 그들의 인식 체계에서 어떻게 작용하게 될 것인지도 의문이다. 본 논문은 지금껏 국내에서는 한 번도 제기된 적이 없는 이런 의문들에 초점을 맞추어 콤판의 만화를 새롭게 해석하고 그에 따른 문제를 제기하고자 했다. 콤판의 만화는 오랜 세월동안 서양이 동양을 인식해왔던 방식이자 공고한 구조인 오리엔탈리즘의 전형적인 사례였다. 그의 만화는 ‘열등함’과 ‘신비함’이라는 오리엔탈리즘 고유의 렌즈로 임진왜란을 바라본다. 만화에 그려진 탐욕, 무능함, 성적인 문란함과 같은 묘사들은 극의 전개에 꼭 필요한 ‘일부 요소’라기보다는 만화의 ‘전체적인 흐름’을 차지하며 ‘부정적이고 열등한’ 동양의 모습을 그려냈다. 그리고 이와 대조적으로 이뤄진 신비로운 동양의 묘사는 그가 정말 매력을 느껴서 보이고자 했던 역사 속의 이순신의 모습이나 조선 수군의 모습이라기보다는 흔히 서양에서 ‘동양적인 신비’를 담을 때 표현했던 진부한 방식으로 그려졌다. 그러나 더 놀라웠던 부분은 이런 ‘오리엔탈리즘에 갇혀 있는 서양인’의 만화만이 아니었다. 그것은 오히려 이 오리엔탈리즘이 동양, 즉 한국에서 재수용되는 양태에 대한 것이었다. 온리 콤판의 만화는 미국에서 4만 부 이상이 팔렸다고 홍보되었지만 실제 미국 시장에서의 인기는 대단한 것이 아니었다. 그와 반대로 미국인들의 큰 호응이 없었기에 콤판이 직접 박람회를 돌아다니며 재고를 판매하기 위해 홍보해야했고, 결국은 크라우드 펀딩의 도움까지 받아야 했다. 그러나 국내에서는 이 크라우드 펀딩에 적극적으로 참여했을 뿐만 아니라 번역본이 출판되고 그것의 초판이 매진되는 열띤 반응을 보였다. 뿐만 아니라 독자들은 그 만화의 오리엔탈리즘적인 요소를 어렴풋이 인식을 하면서도 ‘서양인이 동양을 인정해준’ 사례이니 어쩔 수 없이 수용하는 듯한 태도들을 보여줬다. 이런 모습은 에드워드 사이드가 주장한 것처럼 ‘서양에 의해 형성된 오리엔탈리즘에 동양이 갇혀버린’ 실제 사례이다. 우리의 역사 속 인물인 이순신이 서양에 의해 표현되고, 인정받아야만 그의 가치와 우리의 가치가 올라가는 것은 아니다. 오히려 그런 표현 속에서 나타나는 오리엔탈리즘과 같은 서양의 부정적인 동양 인식에 대해 문제를 제기하고, 그런 인식을 고쳐나갈 때 우리 역사의 진정한 가치를 오롯이 지켜나갈 수 있을 것이다. The news that an American named Onrie Kompan had published a comic book about the life of Admiral Yi Sun-shin made many Koreans proud of the Admiral and their history. Appreciating Kompan’s work as a great example of Admiral Yi receiving the recognition he deserves overseas, Koreans saw Kompan as a Korea-friendly American, and he was asked to visit Korea to give speeches in academic conferences and was invited to festivals commemorating Admiral Yi. Perusing Kompan’s comic book more closely, however, we encounter myriad examples of Orientalist views. Given that, it is naïve to accept Kompan’s work as a case of Admiral Yi and Korean history being highly appreciated overseas. Also, it is crucial to consider what role would the comic play in shaping ideas about Korea, when the book was accepted and read in Western societies. Therefore, this study aims to consider how Kompan’s work utilizes Orientalism, and goes further to suggest a new way of comprehending the work. Kompan’s comic book is a very typical example of Orientalism. Introduced by Edward Said, that term refers to the way in which the West constructed the East. Kompan’s comics take an Orientalist lens by mystifying and making the East appear inferior. In particular, Kompan overuses the symbols of inferiority, greed, incompetence, and sexual indulgence in his comics to draw attention. Also, the description of Admiral Yi and his soldiers is so mystifying that it is far from the reality which he was supposed to convey in his story. In fact, it is not so surprising to see such Orientalist perspective in a comic book written by an American writer. What astonished me though is the way Koreans appreciated Kompan’s work. It was publicized that his comics were popular in America, and more than 45,000 copies were sold. However, his work did not gain much attention in the market. Thus he had to try to sell the comics in comic exhibitions by himself. He even needed to use crowd-funding to settle financial problems, which Koreans helped actively by investing in the funding and buying his book. Even worse, many Koreans appreciated and embraced the contents despite the fact that the book is deeply related to Orientalism, as they merely saw the work as a case of Eastern culture being appreciated by the West. This phenomenon exemplifies what Edward Said suggested: The East accepting Orientalism created by the West, and thus gets locked in Orientalism. We must recognize this situation and be more contentious about it. Being recognized by the West does not necessarily mean that our history and Admiral Yi becomes more esteemed. Rather, we need to problematize such Orientalist views in order to value our past and the present.

페미니즘 서발턴의 저항으로서의 수요시위 ― 일본군‘위안부’ 문제해결을 위한 부산여성행동을 중심으로

이 글은 2016년부터 시작된 부산 수요시위와 평화의 소녀상 건립 등 일본군‘위안부‘ 문제해결의 중심에 있었던 여성들의 저항의 기록이다. 일본군‘위안부’ 문제는 민족, 젠더, 계급 문제가 중층적으로 얽힌 문제이다. 페미니즘 시각에서 일련의 운동들은 서발턴이 또 다른 서발턴에게 ‘말걸기’이자 서발턴 연대의 저항이었다. 일본군‘위안부’ 문제에 대한 역사적 해결은 정치적•외교적 상황과 맞물려 아직 요원하지만 지역에서 일본군 ‘위안부’ 문제해결을 위해 펼쳤던 제 운동들의 성과는 결코 가볍지 않다. 일본군‘위안부’ 피해자의 존엄과 명예를 되찾을 때까지 수요시위와 소녀상을 지키기 위한 저항의 네트워크는 계속될 것이다. This article is a record of the resistance of women who have been at the center of solving “Military Sexual Slavery by Japan” problems, including the Busan demand Wednesday demonstration and the construction of a statue of peace, which began in 2016. “Military Sexual Slavery by Japan” problem is a layered problem of ethnicity, gender, and class. From the perspective of feminism, a series of movements were subaltern’ s “talking” to another subaltern’s and resistance to solidarity. The historical solution to the “Military Sexual Slavery by Japan” problem is still far away in line with political and diplomatic situations, but the results of movements to solve “Military Sexual Slavery by Japan” problem in the region are by no means light. Until the dignity and honor of “Military Sexual Slavery by Japan” victims are restored, the network of resistance will continue to protect demand Wednesday demonstrations and statues of peace.
