An Experimental Study on the Condensation Characteristics with Solar Radiation and Tilted Angles
김병철,고영하,이춘기 대한설비공학회 2009 International Journal Of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.17 No.4
In this paper, effective ways to produce distilled water with solar radiation was investigated. Four different boxes of condensation systems were compared. The bottoms of the boxes were identical, but the angles of the top collecting plates were different. During the solar radiation, condensation did not occur. Condensation started when solar radiation was decreased. The maximum condensation was found when the temperatures of the top and bottom parts were equal. The condensation was continued until sunrise with gradually reduced rate. When the collecting plate angle was 45˚, condensation was the highest compared with other angles.
Analysis of Korean University EFL Learners’ “Adjective+Noun” Collocational Competency
김병철 대한영어영문학회 2008 영어영문학연구 Vol.34 No.4
The purpose of this study was to analyze Korean university EFL learners’ “adjective+noun” collocational competency and make instructional suggestions based on the results of the analyses. Twenty-four students, respectively, in their first and fourth year of study were given cloze test which consisted of 40 collocation questions. Both groups’ results were quantitatively analyzed first to see for any “distinctive patterns” that would emerge. Then, any notable or significant answers that emerged were qualitative analyzed. According to this study, the following 4 points must be observed in the teaching of English “adjective+noun” collocation: 1) There is a clear need to incorporate “collocation-rich” texts into the teaching of spoken and written English. 2) EFL learners should be exposed to “synonym study” beginning with the most frequent adjectives found in the “adjective+noun” collocation. 3) EFL learners should be given a task where they list all the phrases to do with certain subjects which would make them focus on lexical sets as a way of building up word associations and their knowledge of collocation (Willis & Willis, 1996). 4) Give EFL learners two sets of partial sentences to match in a pair work and later reinforce it through a writing task.

Background/Aims: Newer operative link for gastritis assessment (OLGA) system tried to stage gastritis in view of gastric cancer (GC) risk and endoscopic atrophic border (EAB) was well correlated with OLGA. We described the gastritis on the base of EAB during endoscopic sessions and classified them into high or low stage gastritis as suggested by Quach et al. and analyzed them. Materials and Methods: A total of 158 subjects who visit our health promotion center were graded on the base of EAB by conventional endoscopy and reallocated according to ages. Linear-by-linear association was performed to identify the differences of gastritis among age-groups. Results: In our study 31% of patients had atrophic gastritis (AG) over AG closed type 3∼open type 1 compatible with OLGA stages III/IV (high stage gastritis). High and low stage gastritis showed significantly different distribution at each age group. The proportion of endoscopically diagnosed high stage gastritis increased in proportion to age. Contrast to Quach et al. our study showed prevalence of high stage gastritis under 40s, even in 20s or 30s (P=0.002). Conclusions: OLGA based EAB is easy and useful in GC risk stratification. In our study unlike the previous study of Quach et al., high stage gastritis was found in younger age groups. We should and could make an effort to prevent GC in even younger age groups with the aid of EAB. Additionally we could get organized and communicable stratified data about GC risk.
