        전력설비 관리를 위한 무선 및 유선 통신 방법에 관한 고찰

        Power plants maintenance data is to be sent to management server system via a communication network. In this case, reliable communication network is required. Transmission of the power plants maintenance data is used in the wired communication network or wireless communication network. PLC communication network is a kind of wired communication network. However PLC communication network is easily affected by noise. On the vulnerable areas in power line system, such as a mountain or rural areas, it is difficult to form a power line communication network. For a wireless communication, environment are also influenced factors in wireless communication. Harsh environmental factors are bring the communication characteristic degradation. In such areas it can be used a combination of two networks and in this way the complementary function can be achieved. Power plants are distributed in various regions across the country. The appropriate communication network is needed to maintain the power plant. This study investigated the effect of environment on the wired communication and wireless communication. It would examine a variable factor which is affect to the communication characteristic. We used PLC communication for wired communication network and ZigBee communication for wireless communication network. We investigated the characteristics of a single communication network and it raised the need for a complex communication technology to complement a single communication network.

      • Wireless Communication Network Tools Kits with Visualization Techniques : Design Consideration for Proposed Architecture

        Wireless Communication network is an inescapable reality of our days, being part of curricular proposed by almost all institute. Effective learning and teaching of wireless communication however, require student to visualize and illustrate in understanding the technical and how the communication network is operates. This paper recommends a conceptual framework to overcome the inability student in learning wireless communication network course which is complex and difficult especially for novice student. The aim of the course is to teach student not only programming and hardware design but also basic team-work and project management skills in the field of wireless networks through the active learning using the tools that we proposed. In this paper we proposed the architecture named Wireless Kit (Wkits) as one of the support tools that help novice student in enhancing their understanding of learning wireless communication. This kits focus in wireless communication such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and FRID technology.

        공간 분할 처리를 이용한 고속 가시광통신 시스템

        There are various 'wireless communication technologies' around us. Wireless mobile communication has evolved through various stages, and its utilization is also diverse. However, due to the development of wireless communication technology, the demand for frequency resources is much higher than the supply, so frequency shortage is serious. Recently, 'visible light communication' has been attracting attention as an emerging communication technology that can solve the frequency shortage. 'Visible light communication' is a communication method based on serial data transmission / reception, and there is a difficulty in transmitting / receiving parallel data because the transmitter and the receiver are arbitrarily present. In this paper, we have studied parallel data processing of visible light communication. We could solve the problem by analyzing parallel data using image processing. Through this study, communication performance can be verified through I / O data comparison by implementing parallel data analysis method. It is expected that diversity in parallel data analysis will be presented through the results. 우리 주변에는 다양한 ‘무선 통신 기술’이 존재한다. 하지만 무선 통신 기술의 발달로 인해 주파수 자원을 필요로 하는 기술이 늘어나면서 주파수 부족 현상이 심각하게 대두되었다. 최근 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 떠오르는 통신기술로 ‘가시광 통신’이 주목받고 있다. ‘가시광 통신’은 직렬데이터 송수신을 기반으로 하는 통신 방법으로 발신부의 한계 및 포토다이오드를 이용하는 수신단의 문제 때문에 병렬데이터 송수신에 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 가시광 통신의 병렬데이터 처리에 대하여 연구했다. 가시광 통신 시스템에 영상처리를 적용한 병렬데이터 분석을 통해 병렬데이터 분석 방법을 구현하였다. 제안 시스템에서 입출력 데이터 매칭 비교를 통해 병렬 통신 성능을 확인할 수 있었으며 병렬데이터 분석에 다양성을 제시할 것으로 기대된다.

        건축구조물에서 무선 MEMS 센서를 이용한 통신 거리 유효성 평가

        Wireless MEMS sensors have common features such as wireless communication, data measurement, embedded processing, battery-based self-power, and low cost, and increased measurement effectiveness. Wireless MEMS sensors enable efficient SHM without interfering with location because there is no requirement for triboelectric noise and cumbersome cables. However, there is little research on the communication distance with sensors and data. For instance, existing researches have limited communication distance experiments in civil engineering bridges. It is also necessary to investigate the characteristics of dynamic behavior and the communication distance of architectural structures with different wireless transmission/reception environments. Therefore, in a building structure with walls and slabs instead of open spaces, MEMS sensors and data loggers were used as distance experiments where communication disturbance between the vertical slab and the horizontal wall could actually be communicated.

        A study on the Implementation Extended Concept of GTS in IEEE 802.15.4

        Remarkable advances in wireless communication technology have enabled communications among people who are far away from each other. In recent, the needs of local area voice communication using a wireless system based on low-cost and simple hardware are rapidly rising. However, since these applications require that the multi-users communicate on the same wireless channel in a small area, the existing voice technologies are not suitable for directly applying to these applications. Therefore, in this paper I propose a novel idea enabling multi-user voice communication. In particular, as a short range wireless solution, I employ the IEEE 802.15.4 based on low power and low cost. However, since originally the standard is not developed for voice communication, we extend the original scheme to be suitable for the voice communication by utilizing the extended concept of GTS. The capacity and validity of the proposed scheme are evaluated through quantitative analysis in various voice compression rates.

        소방공무원 현장안전을 위한 무선통신망 운영에 관한 연구

        From an accident at 2:00 a.m. in November 2nd, 2012 that one fire-fighter died while suppressing the E land World Inc. Fire in Bupyeong-Gu, Incheon, we concluded the problem and the improvement method of using the wireless communication (the two-way radio) that the fire safety officer and the safety crew use when identifying the safety of the fire scene. And after the investigation, we could find that the communication between the fire safety officer and the safety crew was difficult in the scene of the fire by voice because of much noise, so they could rely solely on the wireless communication. Therefore, we investigated the wireless communication and its frequency now used in Incheon Fire Safety Devision. Also,we compared with those of the military and the police. As a result, by making use of the wireless communication and its frequency currently possessed in Incheon Fire Safety Division, we found that the fire safety officer and the safety crew rescuing people at the risk of their own life in the various fire scene can communicate effectively. 본 연구는 2012년 11월 2일 02시경 인천광역시 부평구 (주)이랜드월드 화재진압 도중 소방공무원 1명이 순직한 사고에 대해서 현장조사를 실시하여 현장진입대원과 현장안전 점검관 간에 안전여부를 확인하는 의사소통 수단인 무선통신(무전기)에 대한 문제점과 개선방안을 도출하였다. 연구결과 화재현장에서는 각종 소음이 심해서 대원과 현장안전 점검관 간에 육성으로는 의사소통이 곤란하고 무선통신에만 의존할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 인천소방안전본부에서사용하고 있는 무전기와 주파수의 운용에 대해서 조사하였다. 또한 군과 경찰과도 비교해 보았다. 연구시험결과 인천소방안전본부에서 보유하고 있는 무전기와 주파수를 효과적으로 운용하면 현장안전점검관이 각종 재난현장에서 목숨을 걸고 화재나 인명구조 활동을 하는 대원의 안전여부 확인하는 의사소통을 원활히 할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

      • DEVELOPMENT OF A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM BASED ON BLUETOOTH ENABLE MOBILE PHONE

        This paper presents a communication system with a mobile phone which supports Bluetooth wireless communication technologies, and reports evaluation of the system. To make various devices transfer data anytime, anywhere, we adopt the mobile phone as a gateway that becomes a core in the wireless communication. We evaluate the performance of Bluetooth equipped in the mobile phone at first, and develop a communication gateway program on Symbian OS. The evaluation is performed in demonstration experiment. The result shows that our system on the mobile phone satisfies the requirements as the communication gateway. Moreover, for improving the performance of data transfer time, we develop data compression program. We have confirmed that our system achieved the effective and on-demand wireless communication.

        무선통신 효율 향상을 위한 WAP 게이트웨이 에이전트

        최근 무선 인터넷 서비스를 위한 다양한 기반기술이 연구되고 있으며, WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) 포럼에서는 기존의 유선인터넷 프로토콜과 무선 WAP 프로토콜간의 상호변환을 담당하는 WAP 게이트웨이를 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 제한적인 환경을 가지는 이동무선통신망에서의 효율향상을 위한 방법의 일환으로써, WAP 게이트웨이를 위한 에이전트들을 설계하고 구현하였다. WAP 게이트웨이 에이전트들인 CSA(Client Side Agent)와 SSA(Server Side Agent)는 이동 WAP 단말기와 WAP 게이트웨이에 각각 위치하며, 패킷 헤더 데이터축소와 데이터 차이분석을 통한 데이터축소 방법들을 이용하여 이동무선통신 환경에서의 통신효율을 향상시킨다. 구현된 에이전트들이 제대로 동작된다는 것을 입증하기 위하여 Phone.com의 인터넷폰 에뮬레이터를 사용하였다. 실험 결과, WAP 게이트웨이만을 이용한 데이터 전송량에 비하여, 본 논문에서 구현한 에이전트들을 이용하면 데이터 전송량을 20% 내지 35% 가량 줄일 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. Recently, researches on various base technologies for wireless Internet services have been conducted. In the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) Forum, a WAP gateway which does mutual conversion between existent wired Internet protocols and WAP protocols was proposed. In this paper, CSA(Client Side Agent) and SSA(Server Side Agent) for WAP gateway environments are designed and implemented, as a way of improving communication efficiency in such restrictive environments as wireless communications. Located on mobile WAP devices(CSA) and a WAP Gateway(SSA), the agents perform communication efficiency improvement activities such as a packet header reduction mechanism and a data reduction mechanism using data differencing analysis in order to reduce the size of data transmission in wireless communication environments. The Internet phone emulator of Phone.com is used in order to make sure that the implemented agents work correctly. Experimental results show that the implemented agents reduce the size of data transmission significantly.

        Design and Implementation of Magnetic Induction based Wireless Underground Communication System Supporting Distance Measurement

        In this paper, we present our proposed magnetic induction based wireless communication system. The proposed system is designed to perform communication as well as distance measurement in underground environments. In order to improve the communication quality, we propose and implement the adaptive channel compensation technique. Based on the fact that the channel may be fast time-varying, we keep track of the channel status each time the data is received and accordingly compensate the channel coefficient for any change in the channel status. By using the proposed compensation technique, the developed platform can reliably communicate over distances of 10m while the packet error rate is being maintained under 5%. We also implement the distance measurement block that is useful for various applications that should promptly estimate the location of nearby nodes in communication. The distance between two nodes in communication is estimated by generating a table describing pairs of the magnetic signal strength and the corresponding distance. The experiment result shows that the platform can estimate the distance of a node located within 10m range with the measurement error less than 50cm.

      • 온실의 구조적 장애물이 무선통신 성능에 끼치는 특성 규명

        The use of environmental measurement sensors and wireless communication for automatic control in agriculture was increased. The poor reliability of wireless communication were a disadvantage when the system controled in a couple of greenhouses or installed complex structures in a greenhouse. In this study, the effect of structural obstacle in the greenhouse was analyzed on wireless communication. The measurement of wireless communication was calculated by the types of material on obstacle. Because environmental factors such as crops and soil may affect wireless communication in the greenhouse, measurements were conducted in a thermo- hygrostat with constant temperature and humidity. The materials of the obstacle such as vinyl, plywood, acrylic plate, paper box, and heat insulation were performed with different layers (from 1 to 7 layers). The data communication rates between transmission and receiver unit were 100% for ZigBee system in case of 3 vinyls, 2 acrylics and 2 paper boxes. When the number of materials (i.e. vinyl, arcylic, and paper box) was increased, the data communication rates were reduced. However, the data communication rates were partly reduced at more than one of materials in case of plywood and insulation. As the number of layers were increased, the number of loss data were increased and the transmission rate were decreased.
