        This study was examined the pollinating activity and the economical effect according to numbers released of Apis mellifera in the 825 m2 strawberry (Seolhyang var.) vinyl-houses. The time-zone of pollinating activity relative to numbers of honeycomb released at the strawberry (Seolhyang var.) vinyl-houses was together from 9A.M. to 4P.M., and the peak time of pollinating activity was 11A.M.. The effects on pollinating activity relative to the honeycomb numbers in the honeybee hive released at the strawberry houses were ordered 5 honeycombs (11,000 heads), 4 honeycombs (8,800 heads) and 3 honeycombs (6,600 heads). The rate of workers lost in A. mellifera hives with 5 honeybee combs and 4 honeycombs during the strawberry cultivating period were lower than that of 3 honeycombs. The rates of fruit set by pollinating activity relative to the honeycomb numbers in the honeybee hive released at the strawberry vinylhouses were same level with over 98%. The fruit qualities; No. of seeds, sugar content and rate of normal fruit set were same level, but fruit weights were ordered 5 honeycombs in 37.2 g, 4 honeycombs in 35.6 g and 3 honeycombs in 32.6 g. The marketing incomes of 4 honeycombs and 5 honeycombs were 9% to 13% higher than that of 3 honeycombs, respectively. Therefore, when the strawberry (Seolhyang var.) was planted at 825 m2 of a vinyl-houses, it was surveyed that the most suitable numbers of honeycomb were over 4 honeycombs (8,800 heads).

        This study discusses the plateau region of Aluminum Honeycomb Sandwich under compressive loading. We conducted and compared the aluminum honeycomb sandwich structure and aluminum honeycomb core subject to the out-of-plane compression test. We fabricated of which facesheet was made of CFRP composite plate (using the carbon/epoxy uni-direction sheet layered [0/90/90/0] <SUB>s</SUB>) and the honeycomb core used 1/8inch hexagonal aluminum honeycomb. Facesheet and core were bonded using the HCS2404-030 adhesive film, while the other was bonded with two films. Compression of honeycomb sandwich structure was performed at a rate of 1mm/min and compressive stress-strain data were obtained. As a result, the value of the plateau compressive response in the aluminum honeycomb sandwich structure was less than that of the aluminum honeycomb core. And the plateau region of the honeycomb sandwich structure bonded with two adhesive films was less than the honeycomb sandwich structure bonded with one adhesive film.

        벌꿀과 벌집채꿀의 페놀성분 및 항산화 효과 비교

        본 연구에서는 야생화로부터 채밀한 제주 지역 벌꿀 및 벌집채꿀의 페놀성분 분석과 항산화 활성 비교평가를 시행하였다. 총 폴리페놀 및 플라보노이드 함량 측정 결과 물을 용매로 사용한 벌집채꿀에서 가장 높은 함량을 나타냈다. 또한 벌꿀 및 벌집채꿀 모두 농도 의존적으로 항산화 활성이 증가하는 양상을 보였으며, 이를 EC50 및 EC0.5 값으로 환산한 결과 벌집채꿀이 벌꿀에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 항산화 활성을 나타내었다. 상기의 결과를 종합하여 봤을 때 총 폴리페놀 및 플라보노이드 함량과 항산화 활성간의 높은 연관성이 있다는 것을 추측해볼 수 있었고 이를 상관관계를 통해 분석한 결과, 총 페놀 및 플라보노이드 성분의 함량과 항산화 활성이 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계를 나타냄을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과들은 잠재적 천연식품소재로의 벌집채꿀의 가능성을 시사하며 향후 이에 대한 체계적인 연구가 필요하다 사료된다. Although many studies have described the physiological effects of bee products, such as honey, propolis, pollen, and royal jelly, the health benefits of honeycomb remain incompletely characterized. We performed a comparative study of the antioxidant properties of honey and honeycomb extracts using two different solvents (water and 95% ethanol). The results showed that the total phenolic and flavonoid content of the honeycomb extract was higher than that of the honey extract. They also demonstrated that water was more effective than ethanol in extracting total phenols. The in vitro antioxidant properties of the water honeycomb extract were evaluated using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and nitric oxide (NO<SUP>•</SUP>) radical scavenging assays and ferrous ion chelating and reducing power assays. The antioxidant activity of the honeycomb extract exhibited was higher than that of the honey extract. The 50% effective concentrations (EC50) of the honeycomb extract were 7.3±0.26 mg/ml for scavenging DPPH radicals, 6.1±0.22 mg/ml for scavenging NO<SUP>•</SUP> radicals, 6.9±0.44 mg/ml for chelating ferrous ions, and 8.2±0.11 mg/ml for reducing power. A correlation analysis revealed that the total phenolics and flavonoids of the honeycomb extract were the major contributors to the radical scavenging activity, ferrous ion chelating, and reducing power. The honeycomb extract was effective in protecting biological systems against various oxidative stresses in vitro. This is the first report on the antioxidant properties of honeycomb.

        UV/TiO<sub>2</sub> 허니컴 반응기에서 페놀의 광산화 반응

        $UV/TiO_2$ 허니컴 광촉매가 고정된 반응기에서 여러 운전 변수에 따른 페놀의 분해반응을 고찰하였다. 광촉매의 종류에 따른 페놀의 분해능을 비교한 결과, 이시하라사 STS-02로 코팅한 허니컴 광촉매는 데구사 P25에 비해 약간 높은 광산화 활성을 나타내 주었다. 반면에 국내 N사의 광촉매로 코팅한 허니컴의 경우에는 페놀의 광분해 효과가 거의 나타나지 않았다. 허니컴 광촉매는 데구사 P25의 코팅량이 증가함에 따라 페놀의 광산화 반응속도가 증가하는 경향을 나타내주었다. 데구사 P25로 코팅된 허니컴 반응기의 경우에 원수의 유량이 증가함에 따라 페놀의 광산화 속도가 지속적으로 증가하다가 500 mL/min 이상의 유속에서는 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 광촉매 표면이 페놀에 의해 미리 흡착된 경우에는 초기 반응시간에 자외선 조사에 의한 페놀의 부분산화 반응이 일어나 오히려 269 nm에서 페놀의 흡광도가 상승하는 결과를 나타내 주었다. The photocatalytic activity of phenol degradation was investigated with the variation of operating parameters in $UV/TiO_2$ honeycomb reactor. In the comparison of phenol degradation rates among various $TiO_2$, Ishihara (STS-02)-coated honeycomb exhibited a slightly higher photocatalytic activity than Degussa P25-coated honeycomb. On the other hand, honeycomb coated by alcohol-mixed $TiO_2$ (N Co.) did not exhibit any photocatalytic activity on phenol degradation. With the increase of Degussa P25 coating amounts, the honeycomb reactor exhibited the gradual increase of phenol degradation rates. The degradation rate of phenol over $UV/TiO_2$ (Degussa P25) honeycomb reactor was asymptotically increased up to 500 mL/min, subsequently followed by a slight decrease as the recirculation rate (100~700 mL/min) was increased. UV absorption at 269 nm was high due to partial degradation of phenol at initial reaction time because the honeycomb surface was pre-adsorbed by phenol prior to UV irradiation.

        알루미늄 허니콤의 충격 에너지 흡수 특성 예측

        본 연구의 목적은 알루미늄 허니콤의 충격에너지 흡수 특성을 예측하는 것이다. 알루미늄 허니콤은 가볍고 에너지 흡수효율이 뛰어나며, 우주환경에서도 사용 가능하여 달착륙선의 충격흡수장치로 사용되고 있다. 충격에너지 흡수용 허니콤의 설계를 위해서는 에너지 흡수 과정에서 일정하게 유지되는 압축강도(crush strength)의 예측이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소법을 이용하여 허니콤의 형상 및 충돌속도에 따른 압축강도를 예측하였다. 유한요소해석 프로그램은 Ls-dyna를 이용하였으며, 효율적인 유한요소 해석을 위하여 허니콤의 단위 셀 모델을 선정하였다. 이를 바탕으로 충돌속도 및 허니콤 포일(foil)의 두께 변화, 허니콤의 분기각(branch angle)에 따른 유한요소해석을 수행하여 에너지 흡수 특성을 분석하였다. The purpose of this paper is to predict the shock absorbing characteristics of the aluminum honeycomb in a lunar lander. Aluminum honeycomb has been used for shock absorbers of lunar lander due to its characteristics such as light weight, high energy absorption efficiency and applicability under severe space environments. Crush strength of the honeycomb should have strength to endure during shock energy absorbing process. In this paper, the crush strength, which depends on the shape of honeycomb and impact velocity, is estimated using FEM. Ls-dyna is used for finite element analysis of the honeycomb shock absorber. The unit cells of the honeycomb shape are modeled and used for the finite element analysis. Energy absorption characteristics are decided considering several conditions such as impact velocity, foil thickness and branch angle of the honeycomb.

      • Mating of Polyhedrato Evince an Order ofthe All-Space-Filling Periodic Honeycombs

        Earlier discovery and presentation of an inherent order of the regular and semi-regular polyhedra that displays three interrelated classes, together with consideration of the honeycombs, has led me to posit the existence of a coherent and integral metapattern that should relate the various all-space-filling periodical honeycombs, which I advance in an earlier paper that should be read in conjunction with thispaper, as they form part of a series.Here, I approach the periodic polyhedral honeycombs byexploring how pairs of polyhedra regularly combine or mate, whether proximally or distally, along the √1, √2 and √3 axes of their reference cubic and tetrahedral lattices. This is first performed for pairs of what I elsewhere term the Great Enablers (GEs), the positive and negative tetrahedra and truncated tetrahedra; secondly, for pairs of GEs and the Primary Polytopes (PPs); and thirdly, for pairs of PPs. This reveals that these three forms of mating, GE:GE, GE:PP and PP:PP, correlate with the three symmetry groups {2,3,3|2,3,3}, {2,3,3|2,3,4} and {2,3,4|2,3,4}, respectively, of the periodical honeycombs.These matings typically occur in naturallyoccurring pairs along each axis, so in general, a PP mates with just two PPs, though in certain cases one of these is the same as the original. These pairsof matings display a one-to-one correspondence with the possible periodic honeycombs. Differentiating the PPs into two groups of four according to their formal behavior suggests a pathway towards a proposed new order of the honeycombs.

      • 낙하시험을 이용한 달착륙선 착륙장치의 충격흡수 성능연구

        본 논문에서는 낙하시험을 이용한 시험용 달착륙선 착륙장치의 충격흡수 성능을 연구하였다. 시험용 달 착륙선의 착륙장치는 알루미늄 허니콤을 사용하여 착륙 시 충격을 흡수하도록 제작 하였다. 충격흡수장치로 사용된 알루미늄 허니콤은 가볍고 에너지 흡수효율이 뛰어나며, 충격을 받은 직후부터 최초 좌굴이 발생하기 전까지 허니콤의 압축강도보다 높은 강도가 요구된다. 착륙장치에 적용한 허니콤의 압축특성을 개선하기 위해 초기좌굴을 가한 허니콤을 착륙장치에 적용하였고 시험용 달착륙선 착륙장치의 낙하시험을 수행하여 알루미늄 허니콤에 따른 충격흡수 성능을 평가하였다. This thesis analysed the performance of shock absorption’s the experimental lunar lander by using the drop test. The experimental lunar lander was manufactured by taking advantage of an aluminum honeycomb. The aluminum honeycomb used by the shock absorption equipment is light and outstanding for the efficiency of shock absorption, and requires higher strength than compressive strength of the honeycomb until the initial buckling is taken effect. This study evaluated the performance of shock absorption by the aluminum honeycombs by performing the drop test of the experimental lunar lander applied to the honeycomb subject to the initial bulking for improving the compressive characteristics of honeycomb consisting lander equipment.

      • Morphology-Selective Synthesis of Silicon Carbide by Magnesiothermic Reduction

        Silicon Carbide(SiC) has various advantages such as excellent bio-compatibility, high temperature stability and abrasion resistance. In addition, it is widely applied and researched in various fields as it can be manufactured in various forms, such as sphere and honeycomb. Spherical shapes are mainly used in the bio field through surface functionalization. In the case of honeycomb, it can be applied extensively in many areas because of advantages of SiC and honeycomb shaped with properties of high strength and light weight. In this study, we suggest a SiC synthesis method that allows to select a sphere or honeycomb by changing synthetic conditions. Additionally, this method can synthesize at mild temperatures than conventional methods. This SiC will be available for drug delivery systems or sensors by inserting specific materials into the honeycomb, and in the ceramic and semiconductor, the production of more advanced products will be possible due to properties of honeycomb structures.

        해양플랜트용 허니컴 패널의 차음 특성 연구

        Currently, porous materials (e.g., mineral wool) are the core materials used in offshore plant panels, but in spite of their superb acoustic performance, these items must be replaced for environmental reasons. A honeycomb structure is widely used throughout the industry because of its high strength-to-weight ratio. However, research in terms of noise and vibration is minimal. An acoustic study should be conducted by taking advantage of honeycomb structures to replace porous materials. In this study, a simulation was performed assuming that a honeycomb panel is a superposition of symmetric mode and antisymmetric mode. Reliability was verified by comparing a simulation results based on a theory with a experimental results, and the possibility of the panel as a core material was evaluated by studying the sound insulation characteristics of a honeycomb. As the panel thickness increased, the coincidence frequency shifted to low frequency. As the angle between horizontal line and oblique wall and cell-size decreases, the sound insulation performance is improved. And as the cell-wall thickness increased, the sound insulation performance improved. 현재 해양플랜트용 패널의 주요한 중심재는 다공성재료(미네랄울) 이지만, 뛰어난 차음성능에도 불구하고 환경적인 이유로 이를 대체할 재료가 요구되고 있다. 허니컴 구조는 무게 대비 강도가 우수하여 산업전반에서 많이 쓰이고 있다. 하지만 소음진동 측면에서의 연구는 미미하다. 다공성재료를 대체하기 위한 연구로서 허니컴의 음향학적 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 허니컴패널을 대칭모드와 비대칭모드의 중첩으로 가정하여 수치해석을 진행하였다. 이러한 이론을 통한 수치해석과 실험결과를 비교하여 수치해석의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 그리고 수치해석을 통해 허니컴패널의 차음특성을 연구하고 중심재로서의 가능성을 평가하였다. 패널두께를 키울수록 일치주파수가 저주파수로 이동하였다. 셀사이즈와 셀벽의 사이각이 감소함에 따라 차음성능이 개선되었고, 셀벽두께의 경우 증가할수록 차음성능이 향상되었다.

      • 은 나노입자가 부착된 Honeycomb-patterned 소재 합성에 대한 연구

        Poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK)-cellulose triacetate (CTA) 복합체를 사용하여 Honeycomb-patterned 필름을 형성시킨 뒤 화학적 환원법을 통해 은 나노입자를 부착하는 것을 연구하였다. 복합체는 CTA의 함량을 달리하여 N-vinylcarbazole를 염화철을 개시제로 이용하여 중합시켰다. 얻어진 복합체를 습한 환경에서 휘발성용매로 적셔 수증기를 적용하여 Honeycomb-patterned 기공을 형성시켰다. 복합체 형성 여부는 FT-IR과 UV-Vis spectrometer를 이용하여 확인하였고, Honeycomb-patterned복합체 표면은 SEM Image를 통해 분석하였다. PVK : CTA 가 각각 30 : 70, 50 : 50 일 때, Honeycomb-patterned resin에 은 나노입자가 균일하게 분산되었으며, PVK 함량이 30~50 wt% 보다 높거나 낮으면 은 나노입자의 응집이 발생하였다. 또한 질산은, 환원제, 분산제를 변수로 은 나노입자의 균일도를 조사하였다. 질산은의 농도가 높아짐에 따라 응집이 발생하였고, 환원제도 농도가 높아짐에 따라 국부적인 응집이 발생하였다. 분산제인 Polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)의 농도가 낮을 때는 응집이 발생하였고, 농도가 높을 경우에는 은 나노입자가 제대로 부착되지 못하였다.
