Battiti’s mutual information feature selector (MIFS) and its variant algorithms are used for many classification applications. Since they ignore feature synergy, MIFS and its variants may cause a big bias when features are combined to cooperate together. Besides, MIFS and its variants estimate feature redundancy regardless of the corresponding classification task. In this paper, we propose an automated greedy feature selection algorithm called conditional mutual information-based feature selection (CMIFS). Based on the link between interaction information and conditional mutual information, CMIFS takes account of both redundancy and synergy interactions of features and identifies discriminative features. In addition, CMIFS combines feature redundancy evaluation with classification tasks. It can decrease the probability of mistaking important features as redundant features in searching process. The experimental results show that CMIFS can achieve higher best-classification-accuracy than MIFS and its variants, with the same or less (nearly 50%) number of features.

In this paper, the problem of dissipativity filtering for discrete-time nonlinear singular systems with distributed delays is addressed. An interval type-2 fuzzy model is employed to represent the nonlinear singular systems of which the parameter uncertainties are captured by interval type-2 membership functions characterized by lower and upper membership functions. Based on event-triggering scheme, an interval type-2 filter is proposed. By adopting the idea of input delay method, the filtering error systems is reformulated as a new event-triggering interval type-2 fuzzy singular systems with mixed time-delays. By using an improved reciprocally convex combination approach and some new techniques on matrix convexification to bound the forward difference of the double and the triple summation terms in the Lyapunov function, two less conservatism conditions have been derived. The event-triggered dissipative filter gains and the event-triggering parameters are obtained to determine the filter error singular systems admissible and dissipative. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of this proposed method.

Palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions have become effective tools for forming new carbon–carbonbonds. In this work, a novel fluorescence active benzotriazole-coumarin derivative, (E)-N’-((1H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol-6-yl)methylene)-7-(diethylamino)-2-ox o-2H-chromene-3-carbohydrazide (BTANC),was synthesized as ligand in Pd(II) cation coordination. It is shown that BTANC has a strong fluorescentemission at 483 nm and Pd(II) can effectively quench the fluorescence of BTANC and BTANC shows excellentsensitivity and selectivity towards Pd (II) ions. Otherwise, the BTANC-Pd(II) complex was also testedin the Sonogashira coupling reaction of phenylacetylene and aryl halides. The desired product wasobtained with high yield (up to 99%) under the optimized reaction conditions. More to that, Low fluorescenceemission was observed during the Pd-catalyzed reaction process and the fluorescent emission ofBTANC was recovered at the end of the Pd-catalyzed reaction because the oxidative addition of the arylhalide towards Pd (0) was shut down at the end of the Pd-catalyzed reaction. This fluorescence propertiesof BTANC indicates the feasibility of using fluorescence signal as a potential tool to monitor the completionof the Sonogashira coupling reaction.
