        HIERARCHICAL DIRECT YAW-MOMENT CONTROL SYSTEM DESIGN FOR IN-WHEEL MOTOR DRIVEN ELECTRIC VEHICLE

        In this study, a hierarchical structured direct yaw-moment control (DYC) system, which consists of a main-loop controller and a servo-loop controller, is designed to enhance the handling and stability of an in-wheel motor driven driven electric vehicle (IEV). In the main loop, a Fractional Order PID (FO-PID) controller is proposed to generate desired external yaw moment. A modified Differential Evolution (M-DE) algorithm is adopted to optimize the controller parameters. In the servo-loop controller, the desired external yaw moment is optimally distributed to individual wheel torques by using sequential quadratic programming (SQP) approach, with the tire force boundaries estimated by Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) based on a fitted empirical tire model. The IEV prototype is virtually modelled by using Adams/Car collaborating with SolidWorks, validated by track tests, and serves as the control plant for simulation. The feasibility and effectiveness of the designed control system are examined by simulations in typical handling maneuver scenarios.

        Maslow"s hierarchy Needs based Comparison of Artificial Intelligence perception between Koreans and Chinese

        In this paper, we derived the artificial intelligence service expectation factors corresponding to Maslow"s hierarchy needs and examined whether these expectations affect the attitude toward artificial intelligence. In particular, we compared the differences between perceptions of Koreans and Chinese about these artificial intelligence expectations and attitudes. We derived the artificial intelligence service expectation factors corresponding to the safety needs level, the love and belonging needs level and the esteem needs level among the Maslow’s hierarchy needs respectively so that the factors consisted of ‘expectation for stability guarantee’, ‘strengthening ties’, ‘professional improvement and reinforcement’ and artificial intelligence ‘side effects’ additionally. The research model and the related hypotheses were established with independent variables, dependent variables and moderator variable. The independent variables were the ‘expectation for stability guarantee’, ‘strengthening ties’, ‘professional improvement and reinforcement’ and artificial intelligence side effects. The dependent variable was the ‘attitude’ toward artificial intelligence. The moderator variable was ‘nationality’ which is Korean or Chinese. The results of empirical tests for the hypotheses are followings. First, ‘expectation for stability guarantee’, ‘strengthening ties’ and ‘professional improvement and reinforcement’ factors all had a positive effect on the ‘attitude’ toward artificial intelligence. Second, it was found that the influence of factors for improving professionalism on attitudes was different according to nationality. Third, the order of the influence of artificial intelligence expectation factors on attitude was different for Koreans and Chinese.

        Lack of association between the VEGFA gene polymorphisms and preterm birth in Korean women

        Preterm birth (PTB), a pregnancy-related disease, is defined as a birth before 37 weeks of gestation. It is a major cause of maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide, and its incidence rate is steadily increasing. Various genetic factors can contribute to the etiology of PTB. Vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) gene is an important angiogenic gene and its polymorphisms have been reported to be associated with PTB development. Therefore, we conducted a case-control study to evaluate the association between VEGFA rs699947, rs2010963, and rs3025039 polymorphisms and PTB in Korean women. A total of 271 subjects (116 patients with PTB and 155 women at ≥38 weeks of gestation) were analyzed in this study. The genotyping of VEGFA gene polymorphisms was performed using polymerase chain reaction- restriction fragment length polymorphism. No significant association between the patients with PTB and the control groups was confirmed. In the combination analysis, we found a significant association between PTB and VEGFA rs699947 CC-rs2010963 GG-rs3025039 CC combination (odds ratio, 3.77; 95% confidence interval, 1.091 to 13.032; p = 0.031). The VEGFA rs699947, rs2010963, and rs3025039 polymorphisms might have no genetic association with the pathogenesis of PTB in Korean women. However, the combination analysis indicates the possibility that VEGFA acts in PTB pathophysiology. Therefore, larger sample sets and replication studies are required to further elucidate our findings.

      • A new active zero set descent algorithm for least absolute deviation with generalized LASSO penalty

        A new active zero set descent algorithm is proposed for least absolute deviation (LAD) problems with generalized LASSO penalty. Zero set contains the terms in the cost function that are zero-valued at the solution. Unlike state-of-art numerical approximation strategies such as interior point method, user-chosen threshold value is not required by the proposed algorithm to identify the zero set. Moreover, no nested iteration is needed. The algorithm updates the zero set and basis search directions recursively until optimality conditions are satisfied. It is also shown that the proposed algorithm converges in finitely many steps. Extensive simulation studies and real data analysis are conducted to confirm the time-efficiency of our algorithm.

        L-FUZZY UNIFORM SPACES

        The aim of this paper is to study L-fuzzy uniformizable spaces. A new kind of topological fuzzy remote neighborhood system is defined and used for investigating the relationship between L-fuzzy co-topology and L-fuzzy (quasi-)uniformity. It is showed that this fuzzy remote neighborhood system is different from that in [23] when $\mathcal{U}$ is an L-fuzzy quasi-uniformity and they will be coincident when $\mathcal{U}$ is an L-fuzzy uniformity. It is also showed that each L-fuzzy co-topological space is L-fuzzy quasi-uniformizable.

        Rice Husk as a Food Carrier Forselective Enrichment of Tea Catechins

        The potentials of rice husk, oat bran and soya milk cake as food carriers for tea catechins(TC) were studied. Adsorption properties, contact time and temperature effects and the concentration of tea catechins, as well as digestive stability were investigated in this paper. The result showed that the adsorption capacity of rice husk for tea catechins was 32.04 mgg-1 which was 28.1 % and 17.7 % higher than those of oat bran and soya milk cake and no obvious adsorbability to caffeine was observed for these materials. The selectivity coefficient K of EGCg to TC for rice husk was 4.44 in comparison with 1.87 and 1.96 of oat husk and soya milk cake. This guarantees rice husk a selective food carrier to tea catechins with enrichment of EGCg. Also, 20 min contact time and tea extract concentration above 1.75 g L-1 are recommended in order to obtain a high loading amount of tea catechins onto rice husk, and low temperature is favorable for the adsorption processof tea catechins onto rice husk. Digestive study showed that combination of tea catechins with rice husk was propitious to increase the digestive stability of tea catechins in simulated gastrointestinal fluids. Thus, rice husk is a promising food carrier for tea catechins. Further studies would be focusing on the identification and separation of the functional constituent of rice husk and its interaction mechanism with tea catechins.

        We describe a new path planning system using terrain database. The system is adapt to the navigation of autonomous land vehicle under known environment such as road network without unknown moving obstacles. We discuss the terrain database structure, terrain representation, global path planning, local path planning under the direction of global path planning.
