Approximately 1200 years ago, the close association between the quality of medicine and the producing area was well known in China. Recent work has shown conclusively that the quality of herbal medicine is influenced by unfavorable conditions, but the exact cause remains unclear and is a difficult problem in research on herb resources. Fresh roots of S. baicalensis were exposed to temperatures of 35 °C ~ 55 °C, and the H2O2 level remained relatively inflexible. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities remained stable at 35 °C and 45 °C but decreased on day 1 at 55 °C. The excess ROS due to the high temperatures must be removed by another pathway. Our study reported that the phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) activities rose. The fresh roots were exposed to 55 °C for 2 days, the baicalin increased by 38.5%, the wogonoside by 24.1%, and the baicalein by 37.0%. This method can substantially improve the quality of Radix Scutellariae.

In order to select the effective features or feature subsets and realize an intelligent diagnosis of aero engine rolling bearing faults, this paper presents a sharing pattern feature selection method using multiple improved genetic algorithms. Based on the simple genetic algorithm, a multiple-population improved genetic algorithm was proposed, which improves the speed and effect of algorithm and overcomes the shortcomings of local optima that simple genetic algorithm is easy to fall into. Because all populations regularly share and exchange their selecting features, the proposed algorithms can quickly dig up the current effective feature patterns, and then analyze and deal with the strong correlation between the feature patterns. This will not only give clear directions for the descendant evolution, but also help to achieve high accuracy feature selection, for, the features are highly distinctive. This multiple-population improved genetic algorithm was applied to rolling bearing fault feature selection and comparisons with other methods are carried out, which demonstrates the validity of sharing pattern feature selection method proposed.

The identification of aero-engine dynamic parameters is fundamental to establishing accurate dynamic models, which has a great effect on the accuracy of model calculation. The accurate parameter range, however, is not easy to define in practical engineering applications. In many cases, it could only be constructed out of experience. In order to reduce the impact of initial parameter interval accuracy on the identification results, the adaptive parameter domain with multiple genetic algorithms is proposed to identify the aeroengine dynamic model parameters, through which the vibration modal parameter identification is studied under the condition of initial uncertainty of the parameters. The effectiveness of the adaptive parameter domain method is verified through the third-order model with severe modal coupling, which also proves the efficiency and rapidity of finding the correct value of parameters and, indicates that it would not be necessary to introduce an exact definition of the initial interval of parameters. All these suggest that the proposed multiple genetic algorithms of the adaptive parameter domain has a good reference value for engineering applications.

The presence of artificial light enables humans to be active 24 h a day. Many people across the globe live in a social culture that encourages staying up late to meet the demands of various activities, such as work and school. Sleep deprivation (SD) is a severe health problem in modern society. Meanwhile, as with cardiometabolic disease, there was an obvious tendency that coronary heart disease (CHD) to become a global epidemic chronic disease. Specifically, SD can significantly increase the morbidity and mortality of CHD. However, the underlying mechanisms responsible for the effects of SD on CHD are multilayered and complex. Inflammatory response, lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and endothelial function all contribute to cardiovascular lesions. In this review, the effects of SD on CHD development are summarized, and SD-related pathogenesis of coronary artery lesions is discussed. In general, early assessment of SD played a vital role in preventing the harmful consequences of CHD. INTRODUCTION Many individuals globally live in a social culture that encourages staying up late to meet the demands of various activities, such as work and school. The causes of poor sleep hygiene can include alcohol use, stimulant intake (including caffeine), and excessive Internet usage, as well as disease states, such as sleep apnea, which prevent individuals from acquiring adequate sleep duration and quality [1-8]. At the same time, shift work (e.g., night shifts) can change workers' sleep patterns, leading to emotional impulsiveness, reduced cognitive ability, diminished processing efficiency, and impaired executive function [9-15]. Further, shift workers have been shown to be at greater risk for the development of metabolic disorders and cardiovascular disease (CVD) [16-23]. Sleep deprivation (SD) has become a severe health problem in modern society. While adults require between seven and nine hours of sleep per night, more than a third sleep less than six [24]. The

The purpose of this study was to investigate theendogenous cathepsin activity in each subcellular fractionand the effect of this activity on myofibrillar protein andtexture during refrigeration and partial freezing storage ofnorthern pike (Esox lucius) fillets. The results showed thatfillets stored under the refrigerated condition were moresusceptible to oxidation than partial freezing. Endogenouscathepsin activity indicated that partial freezing destroysthe integrity of lysosomes more effectively than refrigerationand inhibits the increase in cathepsin B and B ? L inlysosomes. The activity of cathepsin B and B ? L inlysosomes, mitochondria and myofibrils under the partialfreezing conditions was always lower than that underrefrigeration. Texture analysis showed that refrigerationhad a negative impact on hardness and springiness. Inconclusion, the cathepsin activity in each subcellularfraction was effectively inhibited and better textural characteristicswere obtained with partial freezing thanrefrigeration.

Outer ring of bearing fit looseness fault is a common fault. Scratch often appears in the inner surface of pedestal. The fit looseness fault mechanism is not clear. For rotor-rolling bearing system with fit looseness fault between rotor-bearing outer ring and pedestal, a rotor coupling dynamic model that the interaction of bearing outer ring and pedestal are considered. This model is different from the universal rubbing model, where the directions of relative motion between rotor and stator are not considered. Numerical integration method is used to obtain the response of the system where the rotor is established by FEM and the bearing outer ring and pedestal are established by lumped mass model. Firstly, modal test results and simulation results were used to verify the correctness of this model. Secondly, the role of tightening torque between bearing outer ring and pedestal is considered, and the response characteristics of bearing and rotor are analyzed when fit looseness fault is considered. Finally, comparing the simulation results with test results, the waveform and spectrum are similar, which verifies the correctness of the fit looseness model. The fit looseness fault characteristics are that the acceleration after noise reduction shows periodic impact, up and down asymmetry, multiple frequencies appear. A method by increasing tightening torque is put forward to control the vibration caused by fit looseness fault.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the changes in microRNA-130a (miR-130a) and its correlation with cardiotoxicity during epirubicin/cyclophosphamide followed by docetaxel plus trastuzumab (EC-D+T) adjuvant chemotherapy in human epidermal growth factor receptor-2-positive (HER2+ ) breast cancer patients. Methods: A total of 72 HER2+ breast cancer patients who underwent resection and were scheduled to receive EC-D+T adjuvant therapy were consecutively enrolled. The expression of miR-130a and cardiotoxicity (defined as any of the following situations: 1) absolute decline of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≥ 10% and LVEF < 53%; 2) heart failure; 3) acute coronary artery syndromes; and 4) fatal arrhythmia) were assessed every 3 months throughout the 15-month EC-D+T treatment. Results: The accumulating cardiotoxicity rate was 12 (16.7%), of which the incidence of heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, life-threatening arrhythmias, ΔLVEF ≥ 10%, and LVEF < 53% was 0 (0.0%), 1 (1.4%), 0 (0.0%), and 12 (16.7%), respectively. Baseline miR-130a expression was negatively correlated with LVEF (%) and positively correlated with cardiac troponin I. The expression of miR-130a gradually increased in both cardiotoxicity and noncardiotoxicity patients during EC-D+T treatment, while the increment of miR-130a was more obvious in cardiotoxicity patients compared with non-cardiotoxicity patients. Further logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis indicated that miR-130a was an independent predictive factor for increased cardiotoxicity risk. Conclusion: MiR-130a increases constantly and predicts high cardiotoxicity risk during ECD+T adjuvant chemotherapy in HER2+ breast cancer patients.

Lectin receptor-like kinases (LecRK) are widespread in higher plants; however, little is known about their physiological roles. In this study, At1g70130 (designated LecRK-b2), an Arabidopsis LecRK gene, has been investigated. LecRK-b2 was predominantly expressed during seed germination, and its expression was ceased following germination. The expression of LecRK-b2 was induced by abscisic acid (ABA), salt, and osmotic stress. LecRK-b2 lossof- function mutation slightly reduced the ABA sensitivity during seed germination, and this reduced sensitivity was demonstrated not due to lower ABA accumulation level in the seeds. Dual-luciferase transient expression assay confirmed that the transcription factor ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE3 (ABI3) could activate the luciferase under driving of LecRK-b2 promoter. LecRK-b2 transcription level was found to be down-regulated in abi3 during seed germination. Furthermore, LecRK-b2 loss-of-function mutation reduced the salt and osmotic sensitivity during early development stage of Arabidopsis. Taken together, these results suggest that LecRK-b2 functions as a positive regulator of the ABA response during the seed germination and is involved in salt and osmotic stress response in the early development stage.

A high-density genetic map is a prerequisite for marker-assisted selection of crop species. Here, we developed a high-density genetic map of Vitis using 92 F1 progeny derived from the cross between two wine grape cultivars, ‘Shuanghong’ and ‘Italian Riesling’. Whole genome resequencing (WGS) technology was used to generate SNP markers for the map. The map consisted of 1351 recombination bin markers (210,873 SNPs), distributed on 19 linkage groups (LGs), with an average distance of 0.65 cM between adjacent bin markers and a map distance of 860.46 cM. The high levels of uniform coverage and collinearity between the 19 LGs and the grape reference genome indicated that the map is of high quality and can serve as a powerful platform for evaluating grapevines and deciphering the genetic mechanism of important economic and agronomic traits. Our findings will facilitate the process of mapping quantitative trait loci (QTL) that control important horticultural and economic traits of grape.
