Crushing Behavior of Hierarchical Hexagonal Thin-Walled Steel Tubes Under Oblique Impact
Weiwei Li,Hualin Fan 한국강구조학회 2021 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.21 No.1
In this paper, oblique crushing behaviors of the hierarchical hexagonal steel tubes were investigated. In the oblique impact, the crushing mode transfers from axial crushing dominated mode to bending dominated mode with the increase of the impact angle. In normal impact, the hierarchical steel tubes have progressive folding and global folding, depending on the cell number and the thickness of the sandwich wall. There are two hybrid crushing modes at oblique impact, progressivefolding- bending (hybrid mode II) and global-folding-bending (hybrid mode III). Before the hybrid crushing mode appears, the peak force is reduced but the energy absorbing performance changes little compared with the normal impact. When the impact angle is 10°, the hierarchical steel tube still has excellent energy absorption. It is also found that when the cell number in the sandwich wall changes from 4 to 6, the crushing mode at the impact angle of 10° transfers from progressive folding, hybrid folding II to hybrid folding III, while the crushing mode at normal impact transforms from progressive folding, hybrid folding I to global folding. It is found that adopting hierarchical topology can greatly improve the energy absorption at oblique impact, even better than that of the normally impacted single-cell tubes.

The traditional Gossip protocol selects the neighbor nodes randomly. It does not consider the factors, such as the capacities of network transmission and node storage, which affect the network performance. It further causes the drawback of successful search ratio relatively lower, and also network transmission payloads have the characteristics of randomness. In this paper, to overcome those drawbacks of traditional Gossip protocol, a neighbor node selection algorithm has been studied, and various factors that may affect the neighbor node selection have been analyzed in P2P networks. A new neighbor node selection policy has been proposed, which is a reliable Gossip message transmission Protocol based on fuzzy theory. Empirical simulation experiments with various data analysis have demonstrated the improvement of efficiency of the proposed strategy on node selection and correctness of the proposed algorithm in P2P networks.
The durability and rehabilitation technologies of concrete sewerage pipes: A state-of-the-art review
Zhuge Yan,Fan Wei,Duan Weiwei,Liu Yue 아시아콘크리트학회 2021 Journal of Asian Concrete Federation Vol.7 No.2
This paper reviews the literature available on the subject of the durability of concrete sewer pipes and the corresponding rehabilitation technologies. An introduction related to the importance of the sewer system in urban life and its durability issues was first discussed as most people did not recognise the scale and complexity of the underground sewer system. Then the recent development of alternative binder materials or filler materials to improve the acid resistance of concrete was specified. For instance, the effects of alternative binders on the hydration products and the mechanism of biogenic corrosion were discussed in detail. The paper ends with the current rehabilitation technologies and the structural performance of rehabilitated sewer pipes. Also, some suggestions associated with future research were made.

Soy and its isoflavones have been suggested to suppress thyroperoxidase (TPO), induce goiter, inhibit deiodinase, and modulate immune functions. This study initially investigated the effects of dietary soy consumption on maternal thyroid functions and anti-TPO antibody (TPOAb) production during early pregnancy. Data were collected through questionnaire from 505 women enrolled during early pregnancy by random sampling in Shenyang, China. Based on soy intake frequency, the subjects were divided into three groups (frequent [three or more times per week], conventional [more than twice per month but less than three times per week], and occasional [two or fewer times per month]). Serum thyrotropin (TSH), free thyroxine (FT_4), and TPOAb were measured by chemiluminescence immunoassay. Additionally, the concentrations of two primary isoflavones (daidzein and genistein) and creatinine were assessed in the spot urine samples from representative subjects (about 20%) randomly selected from the three groups. The percentages of frequent, conventional, and occasional consumers were 18.6%, 62.6%, and 18.8%, respectively. No difference was found in age, medical records, family history of thyroid diseases, serum FT_4, TSH, and TPOAb levels, TPOAb-positive percentages, or prevalence of thyroid dysfunctions among the groups. Both urinary daidzein and genistein levels were significantly higher in the frequent consumers compared with the other two groups. No correlations were found between urinary isoflavone levels and serum FT_4 or TSH. Urinary isoflavone levels were not significantly different between TPOAb-positive and -negative women among the randomly selected representative subjects. On the whole, our findings suggest dietary soy consumption during early pregnancy is not associated with the development of thyroid dysfunction or autoimmunity.
An Image Fusion Algorithm Based on Non-subsampled Shearlet Transform and Compressed Sensing
XING Xiaoxue,LI Jie,FAN Qinyin,SHANG Weiwei 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.3
In order to obtain rapid fusion speed, an image fusion algorithm based on Non-subsampled Shearlet Transform (NSST) and Compressed Sensing (CS) is presented. The source images are decomposed with NSST. Based on local area energy, the low-frequency coefficients are fused. The high-frequency coefficients are compressed, fused and reconstructed with CS. Based on global gradient, the measurements of high-frequency coefficients are fused. The inverse NSST is used to get the final fused image. During the fusion course, only the compressed data of the high-frequency coefficients are fused, so the fusion effects can’t be affected. At the same time, the running time can be reduced. In this paper, the multi-focus images are used to verify the algorithm effectiveness. The simulation results indicate that the fusion image can be achieved without prior knowledge of the original images. Although the fusion quality is sacrificed when the sampling rate becomes higher, the algorithm can significantly reduce the time cost and hardware requirements. The algorithm provides an idea on how to satisfy the real time requirements in the fusion system.

Background: The current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), transmitted person-to-person by the severe acute respiratory syndrome of coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), poses a threat to global public health. Objective: In this study, we performed the comprehensive analysis of the T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire may contribute to a more in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis of COVID-19. Methods: A comprehensive immunological analysis was performed to explore the features of the TCR repertoire and identified TCR sequences correlated with SARS-CoV-2 viral antigens. Results: we analyzed the COVID-19 patients' TCR repertoires in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) which obtained before (baseline), during (acute), and after rehabilitation (convalescent) by ImmunoSEQ-technology, and found that repertoire features of TCRβ-chain (TCRβ) complementary-determining region 3 (CDR3) in COVID-19 patients were remarkable difference, including decreased TCR diversity, abnormal CDR3 length, difference of TRBV/J gene usage and higher TCR sequence overlap. Besides, we identified some COVID-19 disease-associated TCRβ clones, and the abundance of them changed with the progression of the disease. Importantly, these disease-associated TCRβ clones could be used to distinguish COVID-19 patients from healthy controls with high accuracy. Conclusions: We provide a clear understanding of the TCR repertoire of COVID-19 patients, which lays the foundation for better diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients.
