Magnetic and Transport Properties of a New Caged Compound PrOs2Zn20
K. Wakiya,N. Nagasawa,K. T. Matsumoto,T. Onimaru,K. Umeo,T. Takabatake 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.62 No.12
The magnetic and transport properties of a Pr-encaged compound PrOs2Zn20 have been studiedby the electrical resistivity (T), magnetic susceptibility ρ(T), and specific heat C(T) measurementsdown to 2 K. The (T) and the C(T) show distinct anomalies at Ts = 87 K, which resemble theanomalies in the isostructural and isoelectronic compound PrRu2Zn20 with the structural phasetransition at Ts = 138 K. Above 50 K, the ρ(T) follows the Curie-Weiss law with the effectivemagnetic moment of 3.64 µB/f.u., which indicates the trivalent state of the Pr ion. The saturatedbehavior of ρ(T) below 5 K indicates the Van-Vleck paramagnetic state. Hence, the Pr3+ ion fallsin a nonmagnetic ground state under the crystalline electric field.
Preparation and Electric Properties of PbTiO$_3$Thin Films by Low-pressure Thermal Plasma Deposition
Nagata, Shingo,Wakiya, Naoki,Shinozaki, Kazuo,Mizutani, Nobuyasu The Korean Ceramic Society 2001 The Korean journal of ceramics Vol.7 No.1
PbTiO$_3$ thin films were prepared by low-pressure thermal plasma deposition on (100)Pt/(100)MgO substrates. Mist of source material in which metal alkoxides are dissolved in 2-methoxyethanol was introduced into plasma through heating furnace and deposited onto substrates at $600^{\circ}C$. As-deposited PbTiO$_3$/Pt/MgO thin film prepared at 1.33$\times$10$^4$ Pa was grown epitaxially, but was consisted of many rectangular shaped grains, with many grain boundaries and it was impossible to measure electric properties. As-deposited film prepared at 1.00$\times$10$^4$ Pa showed weak peaks of X-ray diffraction and the film was not grown epitaxially. On the other hand, the film after annealed at $700^{\circ}C$ showed strong diffraction peaks and epitaxial growth was also observed. For annealed film, moreover, no clear grain boundaries were observed. The value of ${\varepsilon}_r$, tan${\delta}$, Pr and Ec of annealed film were 160, 3.2%, 10.4${\mu}$C.cm$^-2$ and 51.2kV.cm$^-1$, respectively. Since the composition, Pb/Ti, measured by EDS attaching to SEM changed point by point, the distribution of composition in annealed film was investigated and found out several relations between composition and electric properties. At stoichiometric composition, Pr and Ec showed the lowest value and they gradually became large as composition deviated from stoichiometric one. Moreover, the value of ${\varepsilon}_r$ became gradually large as the ratio of Ti became high.
Study for the Increase of Micro Regenerative Pump Head
Horiguchi, Hironori,Wakiya, Keisuke,Tsujimoto, Yoshinobu,Sakagami, Masaaki,Tanaka, Shigeo Korean Society for Fluid machinery 2009 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.2 No.3
The effect of inlet and outlet blade angles on a micro regenerative pump head was examined in experiments. The pump head was little increased by changing the blade angles compared with the original pump with the inlet and outlet blade angles of 0 degree. The effect of the axial clearance between the impeller and the casing on the pump head was also examined. The head was increased largely by decreasing the axial clearance. The computation of the internal flow was performed to clarify the cause of the increase of the pump head due to the decrease of the clearance. The local flow rate in the casing decreased as the leakage flow rate through the axial clearance decreased due to the decrease of the clearance. It was found that the larger head in the smaller clearance was just caused by the smaller local flow rate in the casing. In the case of the smaller clearance, the smaller local flow rate caused the smaller circumferential velocity near the front and rear sides of the impeller. This caused the increase of the angular momentum in the casing and the head.
Stress Determination in Epitaxial Lead Titanate Films by Asymmetric X-ray Diffraction Method
Uchida, Hiroshi,Kiguchi, Takanori,Wakiya, Naoki,Shinozaki, Kazuo,Mizutani, Nobuyasu The Korean Ceramic Society 2000 The Korean journal of ceramics Vol.6 No.4
Residual stresses in epitaxial films were measured by X-ray diffraction method. Lattice strains of the (hkl) planes measured along particular Ψ-angles were converted to the in-plane stress according to the equation of stress-strain tensor conversion. Residual tensile stresses were observed in epitaxial PbTiO$_3$ films deposited on (100) SrTiO$_3$ substrate. Tensile stresses approximately 0.9 GPa were measured in Pb-rich films, while it increased to approximately 2.0 GPa with the decreasing of Pb content in the case of Pb-poor films, which ascribed to the formation of lead and oxygen vacancies (expressed as x in Pb$_1-x$TiO$_3-x$).
Ultrasonic Investigation of the Eu-based Intermetallic System EuZn₂Ge₂
Shinya Kudo,Kazuki Saito,Takuto Sato,Mitsuteru Nakamura,Masahito Yoshizawa,Kazuhei Wakiya,Yoshiki Nakanishi,Hikaru Hirabayashi,Shinji Michimura,Masashi Kosaka 한국물리학회 2023 새물리 Vol.73 No.12
In this study, an elastic property of EuZn₂Ge₂ with the tetragonal ThCr₂Si₂-type structure has been investigated by ultrasonic measurements. Elastic constants C33 and C44 were measured as a function of temperature and magnetic _eld applied along the [001] direction. A previous study reported that EuZn₂Ge₂ exhibited three magnetic phase transitions at TN1 = 14.9 K, TN2 = 8.4 K, and Tt = 5 K. We found that an elastic anomaly appeared in the temperature dependence of both of C33 and C44 at TN2. On the other hand, the corresponding anomaly was hardly visible at TN1 and Tt. These results suggest that a magneto-elastic coupling at TN2 may be relatively large compared with those at TN1 and Tt.
