      • Slide Session : OS-GAS-11 ; Immunology : Curcuminoids Inhibit the Progression of Liver Carcino-genesis in Balb/C Mice Induced by Diethylnitrosamine

( Wahyuni Lukita Atmodjo ),( Darti Isbandiati Wibisono ),( Stella Marleen Damai ),( Graciella Wahjoepramono ),( Franxicus Clinton ),( George Mathew ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Background: Curcuminoids that exert a strong anti-inflammatory effect has shown to inhibit multiplicity of tumor nodules in liver carcinogenesis. However its efficacy to inhibit the progression of cellular transformation in liver carcinogenesis has not yet been evaluated clearly. Methods: Forty of 5 weeks old male Balb/C mice were divided randomly into 15 weeks and 20 weeks scarifying groups. Each of that group divided into 2 control groups, injected with sterile saline and fed either with basal diet (1), or fed with 0.2% curcuminoids- containing diet (2); and 2 treated groups, injected intra peritoneal with DEN 75mg/kg BW for 3 weeks, continued with 100mg/kg BW for 3 continuous weeks, fed with basal diet (3) or fed with 0.2% curcuminoid-containing diet (4). They were sacrificed at 15 weeks (n=20) and 20 weeks (n=20) after the first injection of DEN. The liver sections were stained with H&E and monoclonal antibody anti-Ki 67. The number of transformed-hepatocytes and Ki 67-positive cells were counted in high-powered fields (X400) surrounding central vein randomly. The results were analyzed statistically using t-test with considered significant at p<0.05. Results: Histologically, liver sections of the treated groups showed disruption of hepatic architecture with dilated sinusoids and degeneration of hepatocytes. Abundant transformed-hepatocytes characterized with enlargement nuclei, hyperchromatin nuclei and prominent nucleoli were scattered within liver parenchyma (fig.1,2). The numbers of transformed-hepatoctes were reduced significantly (p<0.05) when they fed with curcuminoids either in 15 or 20 weeks. Increasing number of Ki 67-positive cells were shown after injections of DEN (fig 2). Conclusions: We suggested that one of the mechanism by which curcuminoids-containing diets inhibit the progression of liver carcinogenesis is possibly through suppressing proliferation of transformed-hepatocytes.

Conclusions: The process of applying for legal protection in the form of geographic indications can be carried out by the association of MSMEs of „Tahu Kuning Kediri‟ producers who are already legal in collaboration with the local government and submit to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights by attaching the proposed Geographical Indication book.

      • Poster Session : PS 0376 ; Infectious Disease ; Severe Ards and Septic Shock Caused by Elizabethkingia Meningoseptica Infection

        ( Zoraida Dwi Wahyuni ),( Gatoet Ismanoe ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Introduction: Elizabethkingia meningoseptica, previously known as Chryseobacterium meningosepticum, is a non-fermenting, oxidase-positive, non-motile, Gram-negative aerobic bacillus, has been reported as a cause of neonatal and adult meningitis, bacteraemia/ sepsis, pneumonia, nosocomial outbreaks, and other infection, especially in immunocompromised hosts. This organism is resistant to many antimicrobial agents, frequently used to target Gram-negative bacterial infections. Case: A 65-year-old male, medical doctor, with background diabetes mellitus and hypertension presented with fever since 7 days before admission, accompanied with productive cough. Initial history, physical examination and laboratory tests were consistent with the diagnosis of systemic infi ammatory response syndrome and severe acute respiratory distress syndrome; sputum and blood culture from peripheral were sent. Patient was started on empiric antibiotics and aggressive hydration. Blood cultures from peripheral access grew Elisabethkingia meningoseptica on the fi fth day. Patient was transferred to the intensive care unit for severe ARDS and septic shock where patient needed ventilator and vasopressors. Antibiotics were switched to intravenous levofi oxacin, and given intravenous corticosteroid for management of severe ARDS. Patient showed excellent treatment response to intravenous levofi oxacin and was weaned off ventilator on day 10 and vasopressors on day 4. Discussion: Healthcare associated E meningoseptica infection has been reported to have higher mortality compared to community acquired infection. E meningoseptica is a multidrug-resistant organism, as seen in our case, it is resistant to ß-lactam antibiotics and carbapenem. By given appropriate antibiotic and corticosteroid for management of severe ARDS, patient had a good outcome Lessons Learnt: We have to consider possibility of healthcare associated E meningoseptica infection, especially in an immunocompromised host, because failure to select appropriate antibiotics could lead to fatal consequences.

Determinants of Stock Liquidity: Forward-Looking Information, Corporate Governance, and Asymmetric Information

UTAMI, Wiwik,WAHYUNI, Putri Dwi,NUGROHO, Lucky Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.12

The more liquid the capital market, the more attractive it will be for investors to place their money in the capital market. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence stock liquidity of manufacturing sector companies listed on the stock exchange in Indonesia. The independent variables used in this study are forward-looking information disclosure, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and board activity with information asymmetry as an intervening variable and stock liquidity as the dependent variable. The population of this study is manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange (IDX). Samples are selected based on the random sampling method, and the number of samples is calculated based on the Slovin formula. The sample was 59 manufacturers, and data was annual reports (for 2 years) and stock transactions from 2016 to 2017. The results of the study showed that forward-looking information disclosure had a significant effect on information asymmetry. Information asymmetry and foreign ownership have a significant impact on stock liquidity, whereas information asymmetry mediates the relationship between forward-looking disclosures and stock liquidity. Furthermore, the accuracy of information about the certainty of business activity both now and in the future can instill confidence in stakeholders in interacting and cooperating.

Anna Rakhmawati,Endang Tri Wahyuni,Triwibowo Yuwono 한국미생물학회 2021 미생물학회지 Vol. No.

Lead uptake capacity of four lead-tolerant thermophilic bacteriaAeribacillus pallidus strains MRP112, MRP148, MRP272, andMRP278, originally isolated from Merapi volcano, were examinedfor their potential as an absorbent to uptake lead (Pb) from anaqueous solution. The growth profile and Pb uptake capacitywere evaluated in Luria Bertani (LB) medium supplementedwith Pb 100 mg/L. The optimum condition was evaluated undervarious analytical parameters, including temperature (55°C,60°C, 65°C), pH (5, 6, 7), and contact time (6, 15, 24 h). Theinteraction of bacterial cell surface with ion Pb was provenusing Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Theoptimal growth of all strains was observed at 55°C and pH 7. Aeribacillus pallidus MRP112 showed the highest uptake capacityof 97.41 ± 0.82 mg/g at 55°C, pH 5 for 15 h. FT-IR analysisdisplayed involved various functional groups such as hydroxyl, carboxyl, amine, and amide group ligands of protein in bindingPb ion. The A. pallidus strain represents a good candidate forthe bioremediation of Pb-contaminated environment.

Synthesis and thermomechanical characterization of PEG/cristobalite composites

        S. Pratapa,T. Wahyuni,N. A. Fauziyah,G. A. Apriliyana,M. Mashuri,S. Firdaus 대한기계학회 2017 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.31 No.8

Synthesis and thermomechanical characterization of polyethylene glycol-silica cristobalite composites have been successfully performed. Commercial Polyethylene glycol (PEG) 4000 and natural-silica-sand-derived cristobalite (SiO 2 ) powders were used in this research. The cristobalite ceramic powder was produced by a coprecipitation method using silica sand from Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan as the raw material. XRD data analysis for the cristobalite powder showed that it contained 98.8 wt% cristobalite and 1.2 wt% tridymite -both are polymorphs of silica. The PEG-cristobalite composition was varied in the composites at PEG weight fraction of 100, 80, 60 and 40 %. PEG and cristobalite dry powders were simply mixed and then uniaxially pressed before a heat treatment at 50 °C to form dense composite prior to characterization. Further FTIR and XRD data analyses for the densed samples showed the success of the formation of the composite. The thermomechanical properties was characterised using Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) instrument with shear mode. In general, at all measurement temperatures, the storage modulus (G’) of the composites was significantly improved with the addition of cristobalite, e.g. its values for 60 % cristobalite sample was 13 times that of the pure PEG sample. The pure samples showed a rubbery plateau behaviour which was not found in the composite samples. It was also found that by increasing the amount of cristobalite, the glassy transition temperature (T g ) increase from 56 °C for the pure and 68 °C for the 60 % cristobalite samples respectively.

( Graciella Wahjoepramono ),( Franxicus Clinton ),( Shirley Ivone Moningkey ),( Wahyuni Lukita Atmodjo ),( George Mathew ) 대한내과학회 2014 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.1

Background: Hepatitis B viral infection is estimated more than one third of the world`s population and 5% of all carriers develop cirrhosis, and primary hepatocellular carcinoma. Our previous epidemiology study of prevalence Hepatitis B infection in rural areas of Tangerang regency showed about 3. 96% were positive to HBsAg test. Serologic test used for the diagnosis of Hepatitis B virus infection involves of distinct HBV-specifi c antigens and host antibody react to these antigens, however the interpretation of these tests was complicated and refi ects multiple possibilities. Methods: five hundred patients visited Rural Health Community Centers were recruited with inclusion criteria age 15 - 60 years old male or female, they do not drink alcohol and they have no history of jaundice. Their plasma was screened for HbsAg using ELISA and Rapid Diagnostic tests; then those blood demonstrated positive to HbsAg, subsequently tested for anti-HBs, anti-HBc, HBeAg, anti-HBe and HBV DNA viral load. Results: The blood of nineteen (19) patients showed positive to HBsAg. Serologic test for anti-HBs was negative, but all of 19 showed positive to anti-HBc. Only 2 patients were detected HBeAg-positive but anti-HBe react either positive or negative. Measurement viral load of HBV-DNA demonstrated the number < 1, 000 IU/ml for 16 patients and 3 patients the number > 10, 000 IU/ml. Conclusions: Serologic profi les of 19 patients with HBsAg-pos are consistent with carrier state or chronic hepatitis B infection, however only 3 patients with higher HBV DNA levels (>10. 000 IU/ml) were diagnosed as Chronic Hepatitis B infection. Mostly patients were diagnosed as carrier state due to their serologic profi le of HBeAg-negative and anti Hbe positive or negative with viral load less than 1000 IU/ml.
