The La$_{1-x}$Pr$_x$NiO$_3$ (LPNO) films were grown on SrTiO$_3$ (STO) substrates via the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The influence of the concentration x on the microstructure and the electrical properties of the LPNO films was investigated. The LPNO films with different concentrations x from 0 to 0.3 were fabricated under an oxygen partial pressure of 100 mTorr at a substrate temperature of 750 $^{\circ}$C and an energy density of 1.0 J/cm$^2$. The textures, morphologies and electrical properties of the LPNO films were characterized by using X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and electrical resistivity measurements. The LPNO films were shown to be c-axis oriented, and the LPNO films with x = 0.2 and 0.3 exhibited an upturns at T = 40 K and 50 K, respectively.

본 논문에서는 마이크로폰 어레이 시스템을 이용하여 여러 화자의 음성 정보로부터 각 화자가 위치한 방향을 추정하는 기술 개발 내용을 다룬다. 성능 향상을 위한 전처리 과정으로 비선형 증폭기를 사용하여 거리에 따른 영향을 최소화하는 과정과 잡음에 대한 강인성을 얻기 위해 음성활성영역을 검출하는 과정을 포함한다. 등간격으로 배치된 마이크로폰 어레이 시스템의 기하학적 특성에 따른 음원의 위치와 신호의 지연시간차이와의 상관관계로부터 화자의 위치를 역으로 추정하는 알고리즘을 기본으로 하여 가능성 척도를 계산하고 이를 활용하여 가능성이 높은 것들을 클러스터링하여 가능성이 있는 후보를 선정하여 화자의 방향을 검지한다. 이 과정에서 오인식을 최소화하기 위하여 가능성이 희박한 영역에 대한 추정 억제 방법으로 부정식 추론법을 적용하였다. 2화자의 음성 신호를 입력으로 한 실험을 통하여 제안한 방법에 의한 다화자 방향검지의 가능성을 알아보았다.

Background: Identifying when intubated patients are ready to be extubated remains challenging. The negative inspiratory force (NIF) is a recommended predictor of weaning success. However, little is known about the role of NIF in the weaning process for the Asian surgical intensive population, especially for the Vietnamese population. Here, we aimed to investigate the cutoff threshold and predictive value of the NIF index for predicting the success of ventilator weaning in Vietnamese surgical intensive care patients. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of Viet Duc Hospital from October 2016 to August 2017. A total of 64 patients aged 16–70 years undergoing ventilatory support through an orotracheal tube satisfied the criteria for readiness to begin weaning. The correlation between the NIF index with outcomes of the weaning process was analyzed. Specificity (Sp), sensitivity (Se), positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and area under the curve (AUC) were calculated. Results: The success rate of the entire weaning process was 67.2% (43/64). The median NIF values were –26.0 cm H2O (interquartile range [IQR], –28.0 to –25.0) in the successful weaning group and –24.0 cm H2O (IQR, –25.0 to –23.0) in the weaning failure group (P<0.001). According to ROC analysis, an NIF value ≤–25 cm H2O predicted weaning success (AUC, 0.836) with 91% Se, 62% Sp, 83% PPV, and 77% NPV. Conclusions: An NIF cutoff threshold ≤–25 cm H2O can be used as predictor of weaning success in Vietnamese surgical intensive care patients.

Objective: This study aimed to gain deeper insights into the dynamic changes in spoilage fungi populations during fermentation and the influence of traditional additives on silage quality. Methods: Elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) was prepared without any additive (control), and with the addition of 0.5% salt, and 0.5% salt–0.2% sugar mixture. The fungal community was then determined using a classic culturing method and high-throughput sequencing at 0, 5, 15, and 60 days after ensiling. Results: The results showed that the fungal community of elephant grass silage varied significantly between the natural fermentation without any additive and the two additive groups. The diversity and relative abundance of spoilage molds in the control group were much higher than those in the two treatment groups (p<0.05). Three species of yeasts (Candida sp., Pichia sp., Trichosporon sp.) and four spoilage molds (Fusarium sp., Aspergillus sp., Muco sp. and Penicillin sp.) were the predominant fungi in elephant grass during natural fermentation from 0 to 60 days, which were found to be significantly decreased in salt and sugar additive groups (p<0.05). Meanwhile, the diversity and relative abundance of undesirable molds in the 0.5%-salt additive group were the lowest among all groups. Conclusion: Adding salt and sugar, particularly 0.5% salt, is a promising effective approach to reduce the amount of undesirable fungi thus, improving the silage quality of elephant grass in northern Vietnam.
Symmetric binary grating as a polarzing beamsplitter

In this paper, we design a binary grating working in the resonance domain in order to achieve a diffractive polarizing beamsplitter. The grating is then optimized by using a genetic algorithm to increase its extinction ratios up to as high as 9677 and 9225, theoretically. Two gratings with different polarization characteristics are achieved. We use the rigorous coupled-wave analysis method to calculate the parameters of the beamsplitter during the optimizing process.
