Impact of Vocational Training on Wages of Ethnic Minority Labors in Vietnam
DO, Ha Thi Hai,MAI, Cuong Ngoc,MAI, Anh Ngoc,NGUYEN, Nui Dang,PHAM, Toan Ngoc,LE, Huong Thi Thu,TRAN, Manh Dung,VU, Tri Tuan Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.6
This research investigates the impact of vocational training on wages of ethnic minority labors in emerging countries; Vietnam is the case study. The study uses secondary data from 2014 to 2018 collected through Vietnam Household Living Standards Surveys (VHLSS) conducted by the General Statistics Office. In order to analyze the impact of vocational training on wages of ethnic minority areas in Vietnam, this research creates ethnic area variables. According to Vietnamese regulations, ethnic areas are communes of 51 different provinces, inhabited by ethnic minority people. The statistics from VHLSS in 2018, show that the proportion of labors of working age with a certificate was 22.5%. The research employs Heckman Sample Selection Model to estimate the impact of vocation training on wage of labors in ethnic minority areas. The results show that vocational training plays a crucial role in improving the wages of ethnic minorities and has a positive impact. However, apart from the achieved outcomes, vocational training and job creation for ethnic minorities are not without limitations and shortcomings. Based on the findings, some recommendations to ethnic minority labors, enterprises and the Government are proposed to encourage participation in vocational training for the purpose of promoting the efficiency of the labor market.

Even though the combined use of ultrasound (US) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is recommended for the surveillance of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the utilization of AFP has its challenges, including accuracy dependent on its cut-off levels, degree of liver necroinflammation, and etiology of liver disease. Though various studies have demonstrated the utility of protein induced by vitamin K absence II (PIVKA-II) in surveillance, treatment monitoring, and predicting recurrence, it is still not recommended as a routine biomarker test. A panel of 17 experts from Asia-Pacific, gathered to discuss and reach a consensus on the clinical usefulness and value of PIVKA-II for the surveillance and treatment monitoring of HCC, based on six predetermined statements. The experts agreed that PIVKA-II was valuable in the detection of HCC in AFP-negative patients, and could potentially benefit detection of early HCC in combination with AFP. PIVKA-II is clinically useful for monitoring curative and intra-arterial locoregional treatments, outcomes, and recurrence, and could potentially predict microvascular invasion risk and facilitate patient selection for liver transplant. However, combining PIVKA-II with US and AFP for HCC surveillance, including small HCC, still requires more evidence, whilst its role in detecting AFP-negative HCC will potentially increase as more patients are treated for hepatitis-related HCC. PIVKA-II in combination with AFP and US has a clinical role in the Asia-Pacific region for surveillance. However, implementation of PIVKA-II in the region will have some challenges, such as requiring standardization of cut-off values, its cost-effectiveness and improving awareness among healthcare providers.

Human pharmaceuticals are considered emerging organic micro-pollutants, originating mostly from hospital and municipal wastewater treatment plants. They can be found widely in a variety of water media, including wastewater, surface water, ground water, coastal water and drinking water at trace levels (ng/L or low μg/L). Many pharmaceuticals show their persistence to biodegradation in water, however their bioaccumulation is still not clear and chronic effects to living organisms for long term exposure need further studies. The occurrences and fate of active pharmaceutical compounds and their metabolites in aquatic environments are complicated, which vary between their physio-chemical properties, environment conditions and removal efficiency of water treatment plants. Advanced treatment technologies such as ozonation, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), membrane bioreactor (MBR)show high efficiency to reduce concentrations of pharmaceutical residues in water.
Incremental Forming of 3D Structured Aluminum Sheet

In this paper we investigated the deformation characteristic of embossed aluminum sheet in the incremental sheet forming process which has frequently used in the design verification and the trial manufacturing of sheet products. The single point incremental forming (SPIF) experiments for the rectangular cone forming using the CNC machine with a chemical wood-machined die and a circular tool shape showed that the formability of the embossed sheet are better than that of the flat sheet in view of the maximum angle of cone forming. This comes from the fact that the embossed sheet between the tool and the elastic die wall is plastically compressed and the flatted area contributes to increase the plastic deformation. Also the tool path along the outward movement from the center showed a better formability than that of the inward movement from the edge. However the surface quality for the tool path along the outward movement evaluated from the surface deflection is inferior than that of the tool path along the inward movement. The experimental results and detail forming mechanism of the 3D structured sheet in incremental forming were reviewed with a finite element simulation using ABAQUS software.

A combination of Polycarbonate (PC) material and Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), fabricated using an injection molding machine, has been investigated to determine its advantages, as studied in Ref. 1). This paper aims to investigate the optimization of PMMA/PC blend for both tensile yield strength and impact strength. Furthermore, interaction effects of process conditions on mechanical properties including tensile yield strength and impact strength of PMMA/PC blend by injection molding process are interpreted in this study. Tensile and impact specimens are designed following ASTM, type V, and are fabricated by injection molding process. The processing conditions such as melt temperature, mold temperature, packing pressure, and cooling time are applied; each factor has three levels. As a result, in comparison with optimization of separated responses, mechanical properties of PMMA/PC are found to decrease when optimizing both tensile and impact strengths simultaneously. The melt temperature is found to be the most significant interaction parameter with the mold temperature and packing pressure. In addition, there is more interaction between the mold temperature and cooling time. This investigation provides a useful understanding of the control of injection molding processing of polymer blends in optical application.

In this work the potential, and the perspectives of the dielectric elastomer actuator are overviewed briefly. As an exemplary work, we introduce a novel contractile artificial muscle actuator based on Synthetic Elastomer(SE). SE is the name of new dielectric elastomer material we have developed and its synthesis procedures and evaluations are described in the first. The contractile artificial muscle actuator is made by stacking the actuator unit one by one along the in thickness direction and finished up by bonding the multi-stacked actuator. Its possibility for the robotic actuator is discussed and demonstrated via experiments.
