Colonic Perforation Secondary to Idiopathic Intramural Hemorrhage
Takashi Sakamoto,Akira Saito,Alan Kawarai Lefor,Tadao Kubota 대한대장항문학회 2016 Annals of Coloproctolgy Vol.32 No.6
Intramural colonic hemorrhage is rare and often secondary to trauma or anticoagulation therapy. Idiopathic intramural hemorrhages in the alimentary tract have rarely been reported. While several reports of spontaneous perforation of an intramural rectal hematoma have been published, no reports of spontaneous perforation in the ascending colon due to a hematoma have. We describe a patient with an ascending colonic perforation secondary to spontaneous intramural hemorrhage. The patient is a 35-year-old male, who presented with acute abdominal pain and no history of trauma. An abdominal computed tomography scan showed a high-density area around the ascending colon, and nonoperative management was instituted. On the eighth hospital day, the pain worsened, and abdominal computed tomography scan showed free air. An emergent right hemicolectomy was performed. Intramural hematoma and ischemia with perforation, with no obvious etiology, were found. The patient was discharged on the 14th postoperative day.

<P>Angiopoietin-like protein (Angptl) 1 and Angptl2, which are considered orphan ligands, are highly homologous, particularly in the fibrinogen-like domain containing the putative receptor binding site. This similarity suggests potentially cooperative functions between the two proteins. In this report, the function of Angptl1 and Angptl2 is analyzed by using morpholino antisense technology in zebrafish. Knockdown of both Angptl1 and Angptl2 produced severe vascular defects due to increased apoptosis of endothelial cells at the sprouting stage. In vitro studies showed that Angptl1 and Angptl2 have antiapoptotic activities through the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt pathway, and coinjection of constitutively active Akt/protein kinase B mRNA rescued impaired vascular development seen in double knockdown embryos. These results provide a physiological demonstration of the cooperative interaction of Angptl1 and Angptl2 in endothelial cells through phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt mediated antiapoptotic activities.</P>
Daily Life Satisfaction in Asia: A Cross-National Survey in Twelve Societies
Inoguchi, Takashi,Basanez, Miguel,Kubota, Yuichi,Cho, Sung Kyum,Kheokao, Jantima,Krirkgulthorn, Tassanee,Yingrengreung, Siritorn,Chung, Robert,Cheong, Angus Weng Hin,Sandoval, Gerardo A. Aside from political leaders' popularity rates and the stock exchange index of business firms, ordinary people are highly interested in aspects of daily life, such as housing, income, health, family, food, human relations and work. Cross-national opinion polls on daily-life satisfaction were carried out in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macao, the Philippines, India, Myanmar, Taiwan, China, Malaysia and Pakistan in the fall of 2013 and winter 2014. The percent difference index (PDI) is formulated as the sum of two positive responses (satisfied and somewhat satisfied) minus the sum of two negative responses (dissatisfied and somewhat dissatisfied). Percent difference indices are given according to society and daily-life aspects. For our analysis to go beneath national average and to go beyond national borders, two lines of analysis are carried out. First, the distance between the level of satisfaction of the top and bottom quartiles is given for each society and according to each of the daily-life aspects. Second, the regional sum of satisfaction of the top quartiles and bottom quartiles are shown crossed by daily-life aspects. In this article we confine ourselves to preliminary comparative description and analysis. More solid and deep comparisons will be carried out by local polling leaders of 12 Asian societies in the succeeding issue of the Asian Journal of Public Opinion Research. Nevertheless, two key threads stand out from this preliminary comparisons. First, social relations (family and human relations) stand out as most satisfied aspects of life in most of twelve societies. Second, the need to go beneath national averages and beyond national borders in analyzing cross-national surveys is confirmed. The comparability and validity of cross-national surveys with varying sampling method and survey mode are briefly discussed toward the end of the article.
Performance Requirement of Ship’s Speed in Docking/Anchoring Maneuvering

Questionnaire survey on performance requirement of ship’s speed such as not only accuracy but also response and robustness were carried out, and the experiments to survey the GPS performances of static and dynamic characteristics were carried out simultaneously. In this paper, the questionnaire survey focusing on docking maneuvering, some analytic results of the survey, the results of GPS performance, and the possibility of adaptation for docking maneuvering on SDME and GPS are discussed. Consequently, from the results of questionnaire survey the performance requirement of ship’s speed in docking/anchoring maneuvering have need under 1cm/sec on the standard deviation, and speed information from GPS was adopted to use maneuvering information in docking/anchoring.
Model Predictive Control with Cross-Product Term between State and Input
Sungmin Cho,Masatsugu Otsuki,Takashi Kubota 제어로봇시스템학회 2018 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2018 No.10
Model Predictive Control (MPC) is one of control methods for the discrete time system. The optimum input is calculated by using Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR). In MPC, the cross-product term is generally omitted in the evaluation function for LQR. However, the effectiveness of the cross-product term for LQR is confirmed by various researches. Therefore, this paper addresses the expanded form of cross-product term applied to MPC. Simulation of zero momentum spacecraft shows that the cross-product term is effective for consideration of performance to MPC.

Pose tracking for outdoor rovers is generally a complex task which is further complicated in conditions where a Global Positioning System (GPS) signal is denied such as in planetary exploration, underground mines and covered areas. In these conditions the rover’s pose needs to be calculated purely based on the rover’s current environment observations. However, conventional wheel odometry is not reliable on rough terrain where wheels are prone to slip and the wheels do not have a common plane of motion due to suspension systems. This paper proposes a Fast State Variable Extension (Fast-SVE) method in which 2D state variables (x; y; yaw) are extended to the full 3D state (x; y; z; roll; pitch; yaw) to achieve effective real time 3D pose tracking of the rover. A particle filter implementation incorporating the Fast-SVE method is used to track the 3D pose of the rover with roll and pitch values used for weighting. An Enhanced Motion Model (EMM) is also proposed to further improve the accuracy of 2D pose prediction in the particle filter.
Durability Assessment of Blended Concrete by Air Permeability
Dhruva Narayana Katpady,Hirotaka Hazehara,Masashi Soeda,Takashi Kubota,Satoshi Murakami 한국콘크리트학회 2018 International Journal of Concrete Structures and M Vol.12 No.3
Assessment of concrete cover quality is necessary for proper maintenance of concrete structures. Concrete durability is evaluated primarily based on chloride penetrability, neutralization and other external factors. The present study attempts to analyze concrete quality and its mass transfer resistance performance by measuring the air permeability and its relation with concrete durability indicators like chloride diffusion and neutralization. The applicability of air permeability as a durability indicator is validated using concrete with different materials, parameters and curing conditions. The tests are conducted on laboratory prepared concrete as well as for concrete exposed to actual marine conditions. From the experimental results, it is found that air permeability coefficient, neutralization coefficient and chloride ion diffusion coefficient have high correlation. It is suggested that air permeability could be considered as an alternative to estimate mass transfer resistance of concrete and as a concrete durability indicator.
