MULTIFUNCTIONAL POWER LINE COMPENSATOR FOR DISTRIBUTION POWER LINES
M.Ichihara,T Akiyama,H.Nara,K.Tamura,F.Ichikawa 전력전자학회 1998 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.- No.-
We propose a multifunctional power line compensator (PLC) which can individually compensate multiple impediments at the same time The PLC has the flexibility to share power to each compensation according to commands, this improving the working rate We constructed a 100 kVA PLC model including a controller with digital signal processor (DSP) to realize a multifunctional compensation The PLC was connected to a power receiving facility, and experimental results of multifunctional compensation were obtained.

Objective: When multiple surveillance mammograms are performed within an annual interval, the current guidance for oneyear follow-up to determine breast cancer status results in shared follow-up periods in which a single breast cancer diagnosis can be attributed to multiple preceding examinations, posing a challenge for standardized performance assessment. We assessed the impact of using follow-up periods that eliminate the artifactual inflation of second breast cancer diagnoses. Materials and Methods: We evaluated surveillance mammograms from 2007–2016 in women with treated breast cancer linked with tumor registry and pathology outcomes. Second breast cancers included ductal carcinoma in situ or invasive breast cancer diagnosed during one-year follow-up. The cancer detection rate, interval cancer rate, sensitivity, and specificity were compared using different follow-up periods: standard one-year follow-up per the American College of Radiology versus follow-up that was shortened at the next surveillance mammogram if less than one year (truncated follow-up). Performance measures were calculated overall and by indication (screening, evaluation for breast problem, and short interval follow-up). Results: Of 117971 surveillance mammograms, 20% (n = 23533) were followed by another surveillance mammogram within one year. Standard follow-up identified 1597 mammograms that were associated with second breast cancers. With truncated follow-up, the breast cancer status of 179 mammograms (11.2%) was revised, resulting in 1418 mammograms associated with unique second breast cancers. The interval cancer rate decreased with truncated versus standard follow-up (3.6 versus 4.9 per 1000 mammograms, respectively), with a difference (95% confidence interval [CI]) of -1.3 (-1.6, -1.1). The overall sensitivity increased to 70.4% from 63.7%, for the truncated versus standard follow-up, with a difference (95% CI) of 6.6% (5.6%, 7.7%). The specificity remained stable at 98.1%. Conclusion: Truncated follow-up, if less than one year to the next surveillance mammogram, enabled second breast cancers to be associated with a single preceding mammogram and resulted in more accurate estimates of diagnostic performance for national benchmarks.

<▼1><P>A new method of time-resolved solution scattering utilizing X-ray multilayer optics is presented.</P></▼1><▼2><P>100 ps time-resolved X-ray solution-scattering capabilities have been developed using multilayer optics at the beamline NW14A, Photon Factory Advanced Ring, KEK. X-ray pulses with an energy bandwidth of Δ<I>E</I>/<I>E</I> = 1–5% are generated by reflecting X-ray pulses (Δ<I>E</I>/<I>E</I> = 15%) through multilayer optics, made of W/B4C or depth-graded Ru/C on silicon substrate. This tailor-made wide-bandwidth X-ray pulse provides high-quality solution-scattering data for obtaining photo-induced molecular reaction dynamics. The time-resolved solution scattering of CH2I2 in methanol is demonstrated as a typical example.</P></▼2>

We combine data from two all-sky surveys, the Swift/Burst Alert Telescope 22 Month Source Catalog and the AKARI Point Source Catalogue, in order to study the connection between the hard X-ray (> 10 keV) and infrared (IR) properties of local active galactic nuclei (AGN). We find two photometric diagnostics are useful for source classification: one is the X-ray luminosity vs. IR color diagram, in which type 1 radio-loud AGN are well isolated from other AGN. The second one uses the X-ray vs. IR color-color diagram as a redshift-independent indicator for identifying Compton-thick (CT) AGN. Importantly, CT AGN and starburst galaxies in composite systems can also be separated in this plane based upon their hard X-ray fluxes and dust temperatures. This diagram may be useful as a new indicator to classify objects in new surveys such as with WISE and NuSTAR.

<P>We describe the synthesis, supramolecular organization, and thermal characteristics of an unprecedented family of symmetric 1,2,3,4,5-pentaalkylimidazolium ([(C<I>n</I>)5im]+) salts equipped with halide, nitrate, or pentacyanocyclopentadienide ([Cp(CN)5]−) counterions. Salts containing relatively small anions were obtained as low-melting solids, whereas those with [Cp(CN)5]− anions were found to be ionic liquids even below room temperature. A permethylated derivative, [(C1)5im][Cp(CN)5], proved to be exceptional. Upon heating, the salt self-organized into a new type of organic ionic plastic crystal (OIPC) mesophase, which was termed Mhex and whose anisotropic structure featured hexagonally ordered, rotating anionic stacks positioned within a continuum composed of disordered cations. The structure of the mesophase resembles that of classical columnar liquid-crystalline phases, despite the absence of long, flexible chains. In the Mhex phase, the cations surrounding the anionic columns effectively fulfill the role of “softening” structural constituents, much in the same way as flexible chains. The discovery of the novel mesophase, which displays a two-dimensional, and thus intrinsically anisotropic, lattice resulting from the rotation of entire ionic assemblies around a columnar axis, represents a new paradigm in the field of OIPCs. Relatively high ionic conductivities were measured in the Mhex phase, particularly after doping with the corresponding sodium salt, Na[Cp(CN)5], demonstrating the materials’ potential for use in electrochemical applications such as sodium-ion batteries.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
