To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on thermophilic fungi isolated in Korea. Three species of thermophiles were isolated from compost and were identified as Myriococcum thermophilum, Thermoascus aurantiacus, and Thermomyces lanuginosus. They can grow at temperatures above $50^{\circ}C$ and produce high levels of cellulolytic and xylanolytic enzymes at high temperatures. Notably, the considerable thermostability of the endo-glucanase produced by T. aurantiacus has made the fungus an attractive source of industrial enzymes.

Swirl velocity, turbulence intensity and turbulent scale were investigated in order to analyze the charateristics of swirl flow which was created in constant volume vessel. Flow velocity was measured by use of hot wire anemometer.<br/> Turbulence intensity was in proportion to mean flow velocity regardless of swirl velocity. And integral time scale and integral length scale have inverse proportional and proportional relation with swirl velocity regardless of measurement position.<br/>

<P>Conclusions. DSF and RT combination therapy has additive therapeutic effects on AT/RT by potentiating programmed cell death, including apoptosis and autophagy of AT/RT cells. We suggest that DSF can be applied as a radiosensitizer in AT/RT treatment.</P>
Increase in the DSSC Efficiency When Using Metal-coated Carbon Nanowall Counter Electrodes

This research was conducted to improve the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) usingmetal-layer-coated carbon nanowalls (CNWs) as counter electrodes. The CNWs were synthesizedon a fluorine-doped tin-oxide (FTO) glass substrate in a microwave plasma-enhanced chemical vapordeposition (PECVD) system using methane (CH4), and the CNWS were sputter-coated with metalfilms several times by using an RF magnetron sputtering system and four-inch metal targets (Cu,W and Ni, separately). Then, the metal-layer-coated CNWs were used as counter electrodes formanufacturing the DSCCs. The vertical and the surface conditions of the metal-coated CNWsused as the DSCC electrodes were characterized by their electrical variations through field-emissionscanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and Hall measurements. Their optical characteristics wereanalyzed using UV-Vis equipment, and the energy conversion efficiencies of the DSSCs manufacturedusing the metal-layer-coated CNWs as the counter electrodes were measured. The results confirmedthat the efficiency improved when the W-coated CNW was used as the counter electrode.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A numerical procedure for conjugate heat transfer (CHT) analysis based on an immersed boundary (IB) method for large eddy simulation (LES) has been developed. The dynamic subgrid-scale (SGS) stress and heat flux models are implemented in the solver. Since discrepancy between the computational grid and solid-fluid interface generally exists, interpolation of thermal properties at the interface is necessary for the current method. Accordingly, an efficient interpolation scheme using the modified flood-fill algorithm is applied. In order to validate the capability of the developed method, three different CHT cases with turbulent flow were examined: channel flow between heated slabs, thermally-driven flow in a closed cavity, and crossflow around a heated circular cylinder. Compared to cases that just utilized an isothermal or constant-heat-flux boundary condition, when the CHT method was properly implemented, results more closely matched experimental data and existing correlations.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Immersed-boundary based LES method developed for conjugate heat transfer problems. </LI> <LI> An optimized flood-fill algorithm enhances thermal interpolation performance. </LI> <LI> LES successfully predicted the turbulent flow and thermal characteristics. </LI> <LI> Fluid-solid interaction significantly affects thermal characteristics of the flow. </LI> </UL> </P>

This paper proposes a switch design method for a high-speed switching semi-bridgeless active rectifier (SBAR) which is used for the secondary side of an inductive power transfer (IPT) system for electric vehicles (EVs). In addition to the rated voltage and current, two practical design considerations are proposed through analyzing operation modes of SBAR in consideration of reverse recovery phenomenon in a body diode of the switch. Based on the analysis, the requirements of the switch for SBAR are proposed, and three types of switches with different characteristics are compared. In order to design the final switch for SBAR, experiments using a 3.3 kW IPT system prototype are performed while applying the three switches, and the final switch is designed.

이 논문은 러시아에서 국가가 석유 및 가스 등 전략분야의 소유권을 확대하고 기업활동에 직접적으로 개입하거나 혹은 국가의 정책에 의하여 경제가 관리되는 상황에서 올리가르히들이 어떻게 변화된 경제환경에서 성장과 발전을 하였는지를 살펴본다. 유코스 사태이후 국가는 석유산업의 기업들에 대한 직접적인 통제를 강화하였고 항공 및 선박분야의 방위산업업체를 국영기업 로스오바론엑스포르트와 오바론프롬으로 재편하였다. 국가는 또한 금융을 지배하면서 자본을 국가정책에 따라 배분하거나 정책수단들과 지원을 통하여 주요한 경제활동을 국가가 의도하는 방향으로 간접적인 지원하고 있다. 이러한 상황변화에 따라 러시아 올리가르히들은 한편으로는 국가의 정책을 가장 잘 수행하는 대리인으로 역할을 하거나 혹은 자신들에게 할당된 자원을 가장 효율적으로 사용하는 기업가로서의 역할을 수행한다. 올리가르히들은 국가의 외교정책에 기여하는 경영전략을 자주 사용하고 있으며 국가를 대신하여 공적 서비스를 제공하기도하였다. 한편 기업가로서 올리가르히들은 자신들에게 할당된 재산권을 최대한 효율적으로 사용하기 위하여 수직적 계열화 혹은 거대복합기업 형태로 자신들의 사업분야를 재정비하였다. 동시에 해외주식시장에 상장, 인수합병, 해외투자 등을 통하여 국제시장과 러시아 시장에서 생겨나는 간격을 줄이는 경영전략을 추구하였다. 따라서 푸틴집권이후 국가와 올리가르히의 관계는 국가에 의하여 확립된 재산권을 바탕으로 올리가르히들이 자신들의 자산운영을 최대한 효율적으로 수행하려는 것으로 이해할 수 있다. 한편으로는 올리가르히들이 국가를 대신하여 경제활동을 수행하고 있으며, 다른 한편으로는 주어진 재산권의 틀에서 자신에게 주어진 기회를 최대한 활용하는 방식으로 올리가르히들의 역할을 지속될 것이다.
