The study aimed to study the effect of the inflation rate, the real domestic product, the interbank lending interest rate, and the total deposits on credit facilities in Jordan for 2012−2021 through quarterly data. The study adopted the ARDL model. The study used the time series analysis method, as the study tests the stationarity of the time series. The results showed that the impact of inflation on the total credit facilities was negative. In contrast, the impact of each of the total deposits, real GDP, and the interest rate of interbank loans on the total credit facilities was positive and significant. The study recommended the need for the banking sector in Jordan to develop risk management mechanisms in a way that allows it to adapt to economic cycles and crises by conducting stress tests and developing scenarios that ensure the formation of sufficient provisions to meet emergencies. The study also recommended that the macroeconomic policy should be based on creating a stable macroeconomic environment that allows the efficient employment of resources in all economic sectors in a way that achieves high economic growth rates, which contributes to the promotion of economic recovery and is reflected in income. Hence, individuals have a greater ability to repay loans.

Energy storage system powered by renewable energies is a viable option to meet energy requirement without addition of carbon footprints to the environment. This study involves development of theoretical and computational models for a solar photovoltaic (PV) system coupled with a lead acid battery. The study commenced with selection of most appropriate lead acid battery and PV system for installation in a representative location in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Various technical and economic parameters were assessed and calculated by computational approach. The optimized lead acid battery was integrated with low concentration solar PV panels (CPV) followed by a feasibility study. Theoretical model was developed for the integrated system to calculate various parameters of the CPV and lead acid battery. Technical and economic assessment of this coupled unit was calculated using a theoretical approach. The developed model was then subjected to computational approach for verification and validation analysis of the integrated system. The detailed assessment of batteries and integrated system show the applicability of this system in Riyadh region. The research will be extended to develop energy storage systems for remote areas using lead acid batteries.

The urging need to reduce the harmful emissions required a thorough investigations into the methods of utilizing the dissimilar lightweight materials in modern automobile, aviation and marine industries. With the exception use of dissimilar materials, traditional joining methods become limited or incapable to maintain safety standards. The adhesive bonding, therefore, seems an ideal choice to overcome this limitation due to uniform stress distribution, fatigue resistance and sound isolation. However, the role of environmental degradation become vital in the areas where the joints exposed directly or indirectly to the sunlight, humidity and extreme change in the temperature. With such key industries, intensive work to comply with safety standards are crucial. The current work devoted to examining the influence of Ultra-Violet (UV) exposure on three different Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) setup of Aluminum-CFRP single lap joint with respect to strength and fracture mode. The samples exposed to the specified UV dosage of three exposure duration then tested mechanically based on ASTM standards. The outcomes indicate that the fracture modes are highly affected by the CFRP orientation as well as the UV exposure time. Moreover, the joint strength decreases with increases of the UV exposure time.
Identifying Cylinder Liner Wear using Precise Coordinate Measurements

This paper aims at exploiting the accurate precise measurements of CMM machine in exploring and investigating the wear happening between contacting solid surfaces. For instance, excessive wear, if detected by the CMM measurements, in a cylinder bore of an internal combustion engine can dramatically affect its performance quality, sealing function, scheme of lubrication, and eventually its service life span. In such case, the finger print would be the original design GD&T tolerances. Widely spread availability of CMM machines at a reasonable cost may make the applicability of this novel technique of wear detection feasible. In this work, precise and accurate measurements of deviations in roundness, straightness, and concentricity in a cylinder bore of an air cooled Automotive Diesel Engine dismantled for an overhaul using a CMM machine have been executed and analyzed to validate this technique. Thus, the results have been presented, discussed, analyzed and interpreted in order to evaluate the status of the engine during operation. Locations of remarkable deviations representing aggressive wear happenings in the cylinder bore are detected and investigated. The measurements, within the limits of uncertainty attributes, could reflect the performance quality of the engine, the suitability of the applied scheduled maintenance plan, and may also point at possible adverse operating conditions contributed to this wear. In the light of the findings, recommendations may thus be drawn and offered to the engine designer to improve his design. For instance, surface treatments and coatings could be preferably changed, or an innovative constructional modification may be suggested to homogenize the wear occurrence in the cylinder bore during operation. This may extend the operating life span of the cylinder and in turn reduces the maintenance expenses. This novel technique for the wear development recalling proved to be successful and reliable tool to diagnose the root causes of the wear aggression occurrence.

Eight healthy Holstein bulls, 4-6 years old were used to study the effect of season of the year on the incidence of the morphologically abnormal spermatozoa. Semen was collected twice a week by A. V. over one-year period. The percentage of total abnormal spermatozoa was $14.1{\pm}0.5$. Ejaculates collected during hot summer season had significantly higher incidence of abnormal spermatozoa than those collected during winter time. Warm spring had moderate semen abnormality. In addition to its effect on the total number of morphologically abnormal spermatozoa, season affected significantly the primary as well as the secondary types of abnormalities. The differences between incidence of primary and secondary types of abnormalities were not significant for all seasons and seasons pooled together. The ratio between the total forms of abnormality in the head, mid-piece and tail of spermatozoa was as 1:1.5:1. Head and mid-piece had defected more during summer compared with both winter and spring. There was no variation in tail abnormalities due to season. The significant effect of season on head was observed by large, pyriform, free and detached heads, while that on mid-piece was by swollen, coiled mid-pieces and protoplasmic droplets.
Ultrasound-assisted capillary microreactor for aqueous–organic multiphase reactions
Salah Aljbour,Tomohiko Tagawa,Hiroshi Yamada 한국공업화학회 2009 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.15 No.6
A simple capillary microreactor was tested as a potential reactor to carry out a multiphase reaction. The hydrolysis of benzyl chloride in a biphasic system was investigated. The capillary microreactor was irradiated by 28 kHz ultrasound at different temperatures, capillary lengths and phase flow rates. It was found that the combination of microreactor technique and the ultrasound irradiation provides a promising protocol for process intensification. Under sonication conditions, higher conversions were obtained compared to silent conditions. The presence of ultrasound has affected the multiphase slug size and promoted better internal circulation within these slugs. Similar reactivities were noticed at higher temperature for both sonication and silent conditions.

In this paper, we investigate the stability of positive weak solution for the singular $p$-Laplacian\textbf{\ }nonlinear system $\ -div[|x|^{-ap}|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u]+m(x)|u|^{p-2}u=\lambda |x|^{-(a+1)p+c}b(x)f(u)$ \ in$\,\ \Omega ,$ $\ Bu=0$ \ on $\ \partial \Omega ,$ where $\Omega \subset R^{n}$ is a bounded domain with smooth boundary $% Bu=\delta h(x)u+(1-\delta )\frac{\partial u}{\partial n}$ where $\delta \in \lbrack 0,1],$ $h:\partial \Omega \rightarrow R^{+}$ with $h=1$ when $\delta =1,$ $0\in \Omega ,$ $1<p<n,$ $0\leq a<\frac{n-p}{p}$, $m(x)$ is a weight function, the continuous function $b(x):\Omega \rightarrow R$ satisfies either $b(x)>0$ or $b(x)<0$ for all $x\in \Omega $, $\lambda $ is a positive parameter and $f:[0,\infty )\rightarrow R$ is a continuous function. We provide a simple proof to establish that every positive solution is unstable under certain conditions.

Let (Ti)1≤i≤n be a sample of independent and identically distributed (iid) random variables (rv) of interest and (Xi)1≤i≤n be a corresponding sample of covariates. In censorship models the rv T is subject to random censoring by another rv C. Let θ(x) be the conditional mode function of the density of T given X = x. In this work we define a new smooth kernel estimator ˆθn(x) of θ(x) and establish its almost sure convergence and asymptotic normality. An application to prediction and confidence bands is also given. Simulations are drawn to lend further support to our theoretical results for finite sample sizes.
