A Controllability Synthesis Problem for Dynamic Multi-Agent Systems with Linear High-Order Protocol
Ning Cai,Junwei Cao,M. Junaid Khan 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2014 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.12 No.6
In this paper, a problem on controllability synthesis for dynamic multi-agent systems with high-order linear protocol is addressed. A particular scenario is considered, in which a given system should be adjusted to be controllable by the input information upon the created leaders, with optional communication links from the leaders to each follower vertex in the graph. It is shown that a single leader is always sufficient to satisfy the requirement for controllability of any given graph topology, so long as there are proper links between the leader and the followers.
On Generalized Controllability Canonical Form with Multiple Input Variables
Ning Cai,M. Junaid Khan 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.1
This paper proposes a generalized controllability canonical form for linear multi-input systems by extendingthe normal controllability canonical forms. It is shown that there exists appropriate similarity transformationfor any non-trivial system to transform it into a generalized controllability canonical form, even if the system is notcompletely controllable. The potential application scenarios are reviewed, especially for large-scale networkedsystems. The Luenberger format is taken as an instance to delineate the configuration of a generalized form. Anumerical example is presented to demonstrate the relevant algorithm.

The trapped-ion system has been a leading platform for practical quantum computation and quantum simulation since the frst scheme of a quantum gate was proposed by Cirac and Zoller (Phys Rev Lett 74:4091, 1995). Quantum gates with trapped ions have shown the highest fdelity among all physical platforms. Recently, sophisticated schemes of quantum gates such as amplitude, phase, frequency modulation, or multi-frequency application, have been developed to make the gates fast, robust to many types of imperfections, and applicable to multiple qubits. Here, we review the basic principle and recent development of quantum gates with trapped ions.

The control of the power conversion system (PCS) in a battery energy storage system has a challenge due to the existence of grid impedance. This paper studies an impedance model of an LCL-based PCS in the d-q domain. The feature of a PCS connected to a weak grid is unveiled by use of an impedance model and a generalized Nyquist criterion. It is shown that the interaction between grid impedance and the PCS destabilizes the cascaded system in certain cases. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel control method that adopts virtual resistors to overcome this issue. The improvement in the control loop leads the PCS to a more stable condition than the conventional method. Impedance measurement is implemented to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis. Experimental results obtained from a down-scaled prototype indicate that the proposed control method can improve the performance of the PCS under a weak grid.

Backgrounds: Previous studies were mainly focused on the effect of catechins and caffeine, the main pharmacological ingredients of green tea. However, the ordinary way of taking green tea is by drinking the tea water. Hence the benefits of water extractives of green tea were investigated in the current study. Methods: H2O2 was applied to induce the oxidative stress on PC12 cells. The neuroprotective effects of green tea against oxidative stress were determined by observing the biological behaviors of PC12 cells. Results: With the pre-treatment of light green tea, the survival and proliferation of oxidative stressed PC12 cells were significantly enhanced. H2O2 induced PC12 cell apoptosis was completely reversed. Consistently, the expression of JNK was up-regulated while the caspase-3 was down-regulated. Conclusion: These results suggested that drinking green tea, particularly the light green tea, performed neuroprotective effects against oxidative stress.

Purpose: The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of imidafenacin for overactive bladder (OAB) induced by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men receiving alpha-blocker monotherapy. Methods: We performed a systematic research of the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases, and searched for studies about alpha-blocker with or without imidafenacin treatment for OAB in patients with BPH. We also investigated the original references of the included texts. Results: Four randomized controlled trials including 779 participants with BPH (389 in the alpha-blocker+imidafenacin group and 390 in the alpha-blocker only group) were studied. The main efficacy endpoint was the Overactive Bladder Symptom Score, which showed a mean difference of -1.88 (95% confidence interval, -2.32 to -1.44; P<0.00001), suggesting that alpha-blocker and imidafenacin treatment was effective in treating men with OAB. As other primary efficacy end points, the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) total score (P=0.47), the IPSS storage symptom score (P=0.07), the IPSS voiding symptom score (P=0.60), and the IPSS quality of life score (P=0.18) indicated that 2 methods had no significant differences in treating men with OAB. In terms of safety, which was assessed using postvoid residual volume (P=0.05) and maximum flow rate (P=0.53), the analysis suggested that combination treatment was very well tolerated. Conclusions: This study suggested that imidafenacin plus alpha-blocker was an efficacious and safe treatment for OAB symptoms in BPH patients.

This study introduces a new scale-dependent viscosity model, in which transesterification reaction of polycarbonate/poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PC/PET) blends with various phase morphologies and micro-scale effects have been taken into account. It is found that a Power-law model can be used to quantitatively describe the relationship between the degree of transesterification and shear rate employed during compounding of PC and PET. A micro-scale viscosity model, which incorporates the micro-scale effects, has been developed by characterizing the flow using a double-barrel capillary rheometer with different microscale channels. For both neat PC and PC/PET blends, under the conditions of the constant shear rate and melt temperature, the shear viscosity dropped with decreasing capillary diameter because of the wall-slip effect. The proposed viscosity model based on the Cross equation can describe the variation of shear viscosity for PC/PET blends under both macro- and micro-scale conditions. Less than 7% average error is obtained between the model predictions and rheological experimental data. Filling simulation and micro-injection molding (μIM) short-shot experiments were conducted to validate the accuracy of the proposed viscosity model. For all the L9(34) design of experiment (DOE) molding trials, the average relative error under the micro-scale condition was 4.5±1.1%, which is much smaller than that of the average relative error under the macro-scale condition at 11.4±2.7%.
Efficient and Secure Identity-Based Public Auditing for Dynamic Outsourced Data with Proxy

Cloud storage becomes a new trend that more and more users move their data to cloud storage servers (CSSs). To ensure the security of cloud storage, many cloud auditing schemes are proposed to check the integrity of users’ cloud data. However, most of them are based on public key infrastructure, which leads to complex certificates management and verification. Besides, most existing auditing schemes are inefficient when user uploads a large amount of data or a third party auditor (TPA) performs auditing for multiple users’ data on different CSSs. To overcome these problems, in this paper, we propose an efficient and secure auditing scheme based on identity-based cryptography. To relieve user’s computation burden, we introduce a proxy, which is delegated to generate and upload homomorphic verifiable tags for user. We extend our auditing scheme to support auditing for dynamic data operations. We further extend it to support batch auditing in multiple users and multiple CSSs setting, which is practical and efficient in large scale cloud storage system. Extensive security analysis shows that our scheme is provably secure in random oracle model. Performance analysis demonstrates that our scheme is highly efficient, especially reducing the computation cost of proxy and TPA.
