Objective: The present study is to assess different vacuum handles in terms of motion, electromyography, push force, and satisfaction for usability improvement. Background: Existing studies have mainly evaluated diameter and size of cylindrical handles in terms of force and satisfaction; however, not expanded into ergonomic vacuum handles.Method: Six vacuum handles were evaluated in terms of motion, electromyography, push force, and satisfaction for three directions (-60°, 0°, and 40°) in a natural front-to-back cleaning task to 36 participants. The motion was evaluated as deviation of comfortable range of motion (CROM) to shoulder and wrist; the electromyography as force exertion rate to deltoid, biceps, flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU), and flexor carpi radialis (FCR); the push force as frontal push force; the satisfaction as 21 usability criteria using 7-point scale. Results: Deviation of CROM of vacuum handle for cylindrical type was lower 58% compared to that for rectangular type; force exertion rate more than 15% to FCU and FCR lower 30%; satisfaction of appropriateness in terms of usability higher 1.4 points. Application: The vacuum handle analysis results in terms of motion, electromyography, push force, and satisfaction would be applicable to ergonomic vacuum handle design.

Objective: The present study is to analyze Korean facial dimensions and select facial key dimension candidates for establishing a sizing system of face wearable products such as dust mask and oxygen mask. Background: An anthropometric sizing system accommodating different facial characteristics of the target population can contribute to improving usability of the face wearable product. Method: Facial key dimension candidates were selected by correlation analysis among 19 facial dimensions. Korean facial sizes measured by KATS (2004, 2010) and Lee et al. (2013) were compared to Chinese facial sizes measured by Du et al. (2008) to each facial key dimension candidate. Results: Face length, bitragion breadth, bitragion-subnasale arc, and bitragion-pronasale arc were selected as facial key dimension candidates. The face length of Korean was 6.6 mm longer compared to that for Chinese; the bitragion-subnasale arc 17.4 mm shorter. Conclusion: The present study proposed four facial key dimensions for Korean face wearable product sizing systems. Found that Korean have longer face length and lower cheekbones compared to Chinese. Application: The facial key dimension and corresponding analysis result can be applied to design for sizing system of Korean facial wearable products.

Small molecular donor, DTDCTB achieved a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) value of 6.6 +/- 0.2% in vacuum-deposited planar mixed heterojunction (PMHJ) structure.(1) However, the same material just recorded PCE of 0.34% in solution processed small molecule based bulk heterjunction (BHJ) organic photovoltaic cells. For the improvement of organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs), In this study, we designed and synthesized several D-A-A (donor-acceptor-acceptor) type molecular electron donating materials. Ditolylaminothienyl moiety as an electron donating group connected to 1,2,5-benzothiadiazole as a conjugated electron accepting unit, simultaneously with an electron accepting terminal group such as cyano alkyl acetate and N-alkyl rhodanine. The thermal, photophysical, and electrochemical properties of prepared small molecules were investigated by DSC, UV/Vis spectroscopy and Cyclic Voltametry, respectively. As a result, 0.89% of PCE can be obtained from OPV using a mixture of DTATBTER and PCBM as an active layer with a Voc of 0.87 V, a Jsc of 3.20 mA/cm(2), and a fill factor of 31.9%.

Various combinations of cartridge and orifice were applied for ground ejection tests of a gliding bomb model equipped with a new guidance kit. Larger diameter of orifice made larger ejection force at each of bomb racks. Normal operations of the wing deploying mechanism and the devices inside of the bomb model were confirmed. Also high speed video data showed that pitch angle of the gliding bomb varied due to the ejection force.

A hypoxic microenvironment leads to increase the invasiveness and the metastatic potential of cancer cells within tumors via epithelial- mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer stemness acquisition in multiple cancers. However, hypoxia-induced changes in expression and function of candidate stem cell markers and their possible molecular mechanism has not well been understood. Normal and cancerous lung cell lines (BEAS-2B, A549, H292, H226 and H460) were analyzed in normoxic or hypoxic (less than 1% O2) conditions. For screening of changes in expression among stem cell markers, transcriptome analysis using next-generation sequencing was performed by HiSeq 2500 system. For validation, stem cell characteristics were analyzed with RT-PCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, soft agar colony and sphere formation assays, and an in vivo mouse tumor model. EMT was assessed with western blotting, as well as wound healing and Matrigel invasion assays. To determine whether epigenetic mechanism is involved, cell lines were treated with a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor (AZA), and methylation-specific PCR and bisulfite sequencing were performed. Next-generation sequencing revealed CXCR4 expression was significantly increased after hypoxic condition which functionally resulted in EMT and cancer stemness acquisition. The acquisition of EMT and stemness properties was inhibited by treatment with CXCR4 siRNA. CXCR4 was activated by either hypoxic condition and treatment with AZA.
