A simple accurate model for prediction of physical properties of petroleum fractions

Mohammad Reza Dehghani,Hossein Parhizgar 한국화학공학회 2016 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.33 No.10

We utilized genetic programming approach for generation of a new model for prediction of critical properties and acentric factor of petroleum fractions. Usually for estimation of critical properties, molecular weight, specific gravity and boiling point are needed, while in this work in order to present an applicable model, just the boiling point and specific gravity have been used as the model parameters. Our results showed that using new correlations, critical temperature, pressure, volume and acentric of petroleum fractions can be correlated within 0.07, 0.65, 0.45 and 0.79 percent average absolute relative deviation. respectively.

Study of QTLs linked to awn length and their relationships with chloroplasts under control and saline environments in bread wheat

        Bahram Masoudi,Mohsen Mardi,Eslam Majidi Hervan,Mohammad Reza Bihamta,Mohammad Reza Naghavi,Babak Nakhoda,Behnam Bakhshi,Mehrzad Ahmadi,Mohammad Taghi Tabatabaei,Mohamad Hossein Dehghani Firouzabadi 한국유전학회 2019 Genes & Genomics Vol.41 No.2

Introduction Some studies in wheat showed that awns may have a useful effect on yield, especially under drought stress. Up to this time few researches has identified the awn length QTLs with different effect in salinity stress. Objective The primary objective of this study was to examine the additive (a) and the epistatic (aa) QTLs involve in wheat awns length in control and saline environments. Methods A F7 RIL population consisting of 319 sister lines, derived from a cross between wheat cultivars Roshan and Falat (seri82), and the two parents were grown in two environments (control and Saline) based on an alpha lattice design with two replications in each environment. At flowering, awn length was measured for each line. For QTL analysis, the linkage map of the ‘‘Roshan × Falat’’ population was used, which included 748 markers including 719 DArT, 29 simple sequenced repeats (SSRs). Additive and pleiotropic QTLs were identified. In order to reveal the relationship between the identified QTL for awns length and the role of the gene or genes that it expresses, the awns length locus location and characteristics of its related CDS, gene, UTRs, ORF, exons and Introns were studied using ensemble plant (http://plant s.ensem bl.org/Triti cum_aesti vum). Furthermore, the promoter analysis has been done using NSITE-PL. Results We identified 6 additive QTLs for awn length by QTL Cartographer program using single-environment phenotypical values. Also, we detected three additive and two epistatic QTLs for awn length by the QTLNetwork program using multienvironment phenotypical values. Our results showed that none of the additive and epistatic QTLs had interactions with environment. One of the additive QTLs located on chromosome 4A was co-located with QTLs for number of sterile spikelet per spike in both environment and number of seed per spike in control environment. Coclusion Studies of the locus linked to the awns length QTL revealed the role of awn and its chloroplasts in grain filing during abiotic stress could be enhanced by over expression of some genes like GTP-Binding proteins which are enriched in chloroplasts encoded by genes included wPt-5730 locus.

      • Endoscopy and Imaging Modalities/Basic Science of Gastrointestinal Disorders/Miscellaneous : Endoscopic Findings In Children On Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS)

( Reza Amin ),( Mohammad Hadi Imanieh ),( Sara Kashef ),( Seyed Mohsen Dehghani ),( Kiumehr Batebi ),( Issah Gakurya ),( Davood Mehrabani ) 대한소화기학회 2007 SIDDS Vol.9 No.-

Background/Aims: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) remain as the initial approach to the pharmacologic management in juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). Gastrointestinal (GI) damage associated with NSAIDs is common in adults, but there are few studies available in children. This study was done to determine the GI complications of NSIDs in a cohort of JRA patients by endoscopy. Methods: Twenty-one patients with JRA who were using NSAIDs for at least 3 months were assessed clinically and by endoscopy. Results: The mean age of the patients was 9.8 years (11 female). GI symptoms were found in 42.9% of patients: 33.4% abdominal pain and 9.5% vomiting. Macroscopic endoscopic lesions were found in 85.7% and infection of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) in 14.3% of cases. Conclusions: Our data show that patients using NSAIDs have frequent GI damage without any relation to the duration of treatment. The number of children who had GI damage without any clinical complaint was high. Also we found that there is no significant relationship between the duration of drug use and the GI complaints, and no relation between duration and GI complaints to upper GI tract endoscopic lesions. The possibility of GI derangements with NSAIDs in pediatric age group is high. Close monitoring of symptoms and prevention measures is suggested.

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization of the New Sitting-atop Complexes from Reaction of Zirconyl Nitrate and Free Base meso-Tetraarylporphyrins in Mild Conditions

Dehghani, Hossein,Mansournia, Mohammad Reza Korean Chemical Society 2009 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.30 No.8

A series of sitting-atop (SAT) complexes, [(ZrO)$H_2t(X)pp(NO_3)_2$], have been prepared via the reactions of free base meso-tetraarylporphyrins, $H_2$t(X)pp, with zirconyl nitrate hydrate, ZrO(N$O_3)_2{\cdot}xH_2$O. The products have been characterized by a variety of methods including $^1H\;NMR,\;^{13}C$ NMR, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopies, elemental analysis and conductance measurements. The data indicate that the meso-tetraarylporphyrins coordinate with two pyrrolenine nitrogen atoms to the zirconyl cation located above the distorted porphyrin plane and two protons remain on the pyrrole nitrogens. Such half sandwich-type sitting-atop complexes may be considered as models for the initial steps of the metallation of the macrocycles.

ON SUBDIRECT PRODUCT OF PRIME MODULES

Dehghani, Najmeh,Vedadi, Mohammad Reza Korean Mathematical Society 2017 대한수학회논문집 Vol.32 No.2

In the various module generalizations of the concepts of prime (semiprime) for a ring, the question "when are semiprime modules subdirect product of primes?" is a serious question in this context and it is considered by earlier authors in the literature. We continue study on the above question by showing that: If R is Morita equivalent to a right pre-duo ring (e.g., if R is commutative) then weakly compressible R-modules are precisely subdirect products of prime R-modules if and only if dim(R) = 0 and R/N(R) is a semi-Artinian ring if and only if every classical semiprime module is semiprime. In this case, the class of weakly compressible R-modules is an enveloping for Mod-R. Some related conditions are also investigated.

Effect of Alkali-Silica Reactivity Damage to Tip-Over Impact Performance of Dry Cask Storage Structures

Masoud Dehghani Champiri,Mir Mohammad Reza Mousavi,Kaspar Jodok Willam,Bora Gencturk 한국콘크리트학회 2018 International Journal of Concrete Structures and M Vol.12 No.3

This paper investigates the effect of concrete degradation due to alkali-silica reactivity (ASR) and its effect on the performance of vertical concrete casks in the case of a hypothetical tip-over event. ASR is one of the major problems in certain concrete structures exposed to high relative humidity and temperature. Using the first order kinetic model, the mechanical and environmental effects of degradation are modeled for a dry-cask storage structure under the conditions that ASR is completely extended. Following the degradation, a tip-over impact simulation was performed and compared with that of an intact cask in terms of failure modes, damage patterns, stresses, and accelerations. It was seen that concrete crushing and shear banding are major failure modes in the cask with intact concrete, but in the case of the ASR affected cask, the concrete is fully damaged and a longitudinal crack which separates the cask into two parts propagates through the outerpack.

      • Esophageal, Gastric and Duodenal Disorders : Esophageal Caustic Injuries and Colon Interposition in Children: Long-Term Follow-UP

( Hamid Reza Forutan ),( Mohammad Hadi Imanieh ),( Seyed Mohsen Dehghani ),( Reza Mostafavi ),( Farnaz Khademolhosseini ),( Davood Mehrabani ) 대한소화기학회 2007 SIDDS Vol.9 No.-

Background/Aims: As sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is frequently used as a cleaning agent for air conditioners in southern Iran, caustic esophageal injuries happen frequently especially in children. After undergoing several dilatation procedures of the esophagus, a number of these patients eventually require colon interposition, an operation by which the esophagus is replaced by a segment of colon. Colin interposition is a surgical treatment modality for patients with severe caustic injuries in the esophagus. This study describes the technique and results of colon interposition in patients who bad undergone this operation. Methods: All patients who underwent colon interposition in Nemazee Hospital affiliated to Shiraz University of Medicals. Sciences in southern Iran from April 1990 to April 2005, were enrolled in our study. Medical records of these patients were reviewed and they were called for a follow-up examination. Out of 18 patients, only eight patients responded. They underwent clinical examination, laboratory tests, imaging and endoscopy. Results: Growth retardation was seen in all cases. All radiographs of the chest revealed peribronchial thickening. Redundancy was seen in 60% of the patients. Lower junction stenosis, diverticulum and dilatation of the lower esophagus were commonly visible. Epigastric fullness (85%), dysphagia (57%), halitosis (45%), heartburn (45%), vomit-ting (45%), odynophaqgia (28%) and abdominal pain (28%) were the most common complications. They were no mortalities in our series. Conclusions: As growth retardation was the most common complication of colon interposition in children, an appropriate nutritional support seems to be necessary after the operation.

White Blood Cell Count to Mean Platelet Volume Ratio Is a Prognostic Factor in Patients with Non-ST Elevation Acute Coronary Syndrome with or without Metabolic Syndrome

        Yousef Rezaei,Mohammad Reza Dehghani,Sanam Fakour,Nasim Arjmand 대한심장학회 2016 Korean Circulation Journal Vol.46 No.2

Background and Objectives Leukocyte and platelet have been found to be associated with metabolic syndrome (MetS). We aimed to determine the usefulness of a novel marker named white blood cell count to mean platelet volume ratio (WMR) for predicting outcomes of non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) with or without MetS. Subjects and Methods A total of 331 NSTE-ACS individuals (60±12.5 years, 57.4% male) were enrolled and followed for a median of 24 months. MetS was identified using the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III criteria. Results Patients were divided into two groups: high WMR (WMR≥720) and low WMR (WMR<720). Major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and MetS rates were significantly greater in the higher WMR group compared to those in the low WMR group (MACE: 14.3% vs. 25%, p=0.014; MetS: 50.9% vs. 75%, p<0.001). MetS was diagnosed in 62.2% of patients. MACE incidence in patients with or without MetS was comparable (p=0.737). Among MetS individuals, patients in the high WMR group had more MACE than the low WMR group (11.2% vs. 26.5%, p=0.007). However, MACE was comparable among non-MetS individuals (p=0.681). In multivariable Cox regression analysis, hazard ratios (HR) of MACE incidence for high-WMR in MetS individuals was 2.616 (95% confidence interval: 1.282–5.339, p=0.008). However, HR of MACE incidence for high WMR in non-MetS individuals was not significant. Conclusion Among NSTE-ACS patients without revascularization therapy, elevated admission WMR was associated with an increased risk of developing composite MACE in MetS individuals but not in non-MetS patients.

Impact of Serological and Histological Factors on Neurological Manifestations in Children and Adults with Celiac Disease

Niknam, Ramin,Seraj, Seyed Reza,Fattahi, Mohammad Reza,Nejati, Mohammadali,Dehghani, Seyed-Mohsen,Mahmoudi, Laleh The Korean Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology 2021 Pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology & nutrition Vol.24 No.2

Purpose: Celiac disease (CD) is a common autoimmune disease with extra-intestinal manifestations, including neurological disorders. There are few reports to assess various factors in increasing the chances of developing neurological disorders in CD, so we designed this study. Methods: All patients with CD at any age who had been referred to the Celiac Clinic were evaluated for neurological problems. CD was defined as IgA anti-transglutaminase antibodies (anti-tTG) of 18 IU/mL or higher in serology and Marsh type I or more severe in histopathological evaluation. Logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the impact of various independent variables on the neurological manifestations. Results: A total of 540 patients enrolled in this study. A 360 (66.7%) of patients were children. A 64.8% and 35.2% were female and male, respectively. Overall, 34.1% of patients had neurological manifestation, including headache, neuropathy, epilepsy, and ataxia. The odds of developing neurological manifestations in children were significantly lower than in adults (odds ratio [OR], 0.66; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.45-0.96; p=0.03) and in patients with gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms significantly higher than in the group without GI manifestations (OR, 1.77; 95% CI, 1.18-2.63; p=0.005). Other variables, including Marsh classification (OR, 0.44; 95% CI, 0.18-1.11; p=0.08) and anti-tTG levels (OR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.999-1.001; p=0.59) did not significantly increase the chances of developing neurological disorders. Conclusion: Our study showed that increasing age and the presence of GI symptoms, but not serological and histological findings, could increase the chances of developing neurological diseases in CD patients.
