Formation of Poly(vinyl alcohol)/SWNTs Fibers with Hierarchical Structure under High-Speed Shear Flow

        Xia Wang,Changcun Wu,Jun Sun,Chuanxiang Qin,Jianjun Wang,Qiqi Zhuo,Lixing Dai 한국섬유공학회 2020 Fibers and polymers Vol.21 No.5

This study introduces a facile method to prepare syndiotactic poly(vinyl alcohol) (s-PVA) fibers containing singlewalledcarbon nanotubes (SWNTs) from the corresponding composite dispersions with tea polyphenols (TP) as dispersantunder high-speed shear flow. The formation of the composite fibrous precipitates at high shear rate is largely facilitated by theSWNTs in the dispersions and slight flow resistance. Interestingly, the obtained s-PVA/SWNTs composite precipitatespossess a three-level hierarchical structure, that is, a single fiber is assembled by fibrils which are composed of microfibrils ofs-PVA-coated SWNTs. And the s-PVA fibrous precipitates containing high amounts of SWNTs could be obtained by shearingthe dispersion with relatively low SWNTs loadings, as a result, the composite fiber containing 20.7 wt% SWNTs wasprepared from the dispersion with 10.0 wt% SWNTs. In addition, with the increase of SWNTs loadings, the amount of theprecipitates increases, but crystallinity of the precipitates decreases instead.

Speech Denoising via Low-Rank and Sparse Matrix Decomposition

        Jianjun Huang,Xiongwei Zhang,Yafei Zhang,Xia Zou,Li Zeng 한국전자통신연구원 2014 ETRI Journal Vol.36 No.1

In this letter, we propose an unsupervised framework forspeech noise reduction based on the recent development oflow-rank and sparse matrix decomposition. The proposedframework directly separates the speech signal from noisyspeech by decomposing the noisy speech spectrogram intothree submatrices: the noise structure matrix, the clean speechstructure matrix, and the residual noise matrix. Evaluations onthe Noisex-92 dataset show that the proposed method achievesa signal-to-distortion ratio approximately 2.48 dB and 3.23 dBhigher than that of the robust principal component analysismethod and the non-negative matrix factorization method, respectively, when the input SNR is –5 dB.

Molecular Cloning and mRNA Expression of the Porcine Insulin-responsive Glucose Transporter (GLUT4)

        Zuo, Jianjun,Dai, Fawen,Feng, Dingyuan,Cao, Qingyun,Ye, Hui,Dong, Zemin,Xia, Weiguang Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2010 Animal Bioscience Vol.23 No.5

Insulin-responsive glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) is a member of the glucose transporter family and mainly presents in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue. To clarify the molecular structure of porcine GLUT4, RACE was used to clone its cDNA. Several cDNA clones corresponding to different regions of GLUT4 were obtained by amplifying reverse-transcriptase products of total RNA extracted from Landrace porcine skeletal muscles. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the cDNA clones revealed that porcine GLUT4 cDNA was composed of 2,491 base pairs with a coding region of 509 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence was over 90% identical to human, rabbit and cattle GLUT4. The tissue distribution of GLUT4 was also examined by Real-time RT-PCR. The mRNA expression abundance of GLUT4 was heart>liver, skeletal muscle and brain>lung, kidney and intestine. The developmental expression of GLUT4 and insulin receptor (IR) was also examined by Real-time RT-PCR using total RNA extracted from longissimus dorsi (LM), semimembranosus (SM), and semitendinosus (SD) muscle of Landrace at the age of 1, 7, 30, 60 and 90 d. It was shown that there was significant difference in the mRNA expression level of GLUT4 in skeletal muscles of Landrace at different ages (p<0.05). The mRNA expression level of IR also showed significant difference at different ages (p<0.05). The developmental change in the mRNA expression abundance of GLUT4 was similar to that in IR, and both showed a higher level at birth and 30 d than at other ages. However, there was no significant tissue difference in the mRNA expression of GLUT4 or IR (p>0.05). These results showed that the nucleotide sequence of the cDNA clones was highly identical with human, rabbit and cattle GLUT4 and the developmental change of GLUT4 mRNA in skeletal muscles was similar to that of IR, suggesting that porcine GLUT4 might be an insulin-responsive glucose transporter. Moreover, the tissue distribution of GLUT4 mRNA showed that GLUT4 might be an important nutritional transporter in porcine skeletal muscles.

Thermal-hydraulic and load following performance analysis of a heat pipe cooled reactor

        Jiao Guanghui,Xia Genglei,Wang Jianjun,Peng Minjun 한국원자력학회 2024 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.56 No.5

Heat pipe cooled reactors have gained attention as a potential solution for nuclear power generation in space and deep sea applications because of their simple design, scalability, safety and reliability. However, under complex operating conditions, a control strategy for variable load operation is necessary. This paper presents a twodimensional transient characteristics analysis program for a heat pipe cooled reactor and proposes a variable load control strategy using the recuperator bypass (CSURB). The program was verified against previous studies, and steady-state and step-load operating conditions were calculated. For normal operating condition, the predicted temperature distribution with constant heat pipe temperature boundary conditions agrees well with the literature, with a maximum temperature difference of 0.4 K. With the implementation of the control strategy using the recuperator bypass (CSURB) proposed in this paper, it becomes feasible to achieve variable load operation and return the system to a steady state solely through the self-regulation of the reactor, without the need to operate the control drum. The average temperature difference of the fuel does not exceed 1 % at the four power levels of 70 %,80 %, 90 % and 100 % Full power. The output power of the turbine can match the load change process, and the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of the turbine increases as the power decreases.

A New Stability Condition for Uncertain Fuzzy Hopfield Neural Networks with Time-varying Delays

        Jing Wang,Xia Liu,Jianjun Bai,Yuanfang Chen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.5

In this paper, the global asymptotic stability of uncertain fuzzy Hopfield neural networks(UFHNNs) withtime-varying delays is investigated. Firstly, a new fuzzy Lyapunov function comprising a special line-integral functionof fuzzy vector is proposed. Then by using theWirtinger-based integral inequality to determine the upper boundof the derivative term of the Lyapunov function more accurately, a new stability criterion with less conservatism isderived in the form of linear matrix inequality(LMI). At last, an examples is given to show the effectiveness andsuperiority of our result.

Maintaining Drosha expression with Cdk5 inhibitors as a potential therapeutic strategy for early intervention after TBI

        Huang Lu,Xia Li,Nie Tiejian,Cui Bozhou,Lu Jianjun,Lu Fangfang,Fan Feiyan,Ren Dongni,Lu Yuan,Gao Guodong,Yang Qian 생화학분자생물학회 2024 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.56 No.-

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability in adults. The pathological process of TBI involves a multifactorial cascade in which kinases have been proven contribute to interactions between relevant factors and amplification of signaling cascades. Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) is a promising kinase that has been implicated in various brain disorders, including TBI. However, the mechanism by which Cdk5 induces neuronal damage remains unclear. Here, we show for the first time that Drosha, a key enzyme in microRNA biogenesis, is a pivotal substrate of abnormally activated Cdk5. Cdk5-mediated phosphorylation decreases Drosha expression and exacerbates nerve injury in TBI. We proved that maintaining Drosha expression via the administration of repurposed Cdk5 inhibitors that were previously studied in clinical trials is a promising approach for the early treatment of TBI. Together, our work identifies Drosha as a novel target for neuroprotective strategies after TBI and suggests Cdk5-mediated regulation of Drosha expression as a potential therapeutic strategy for early TBI intervention.

Poly(vinyl alcohol) Fibers with Excellent Mechanical Properties Produced by Reinforcement of Single-walled Graphene Oxide Nanoribbons with Complete Morphology Obtained by Freezedrying

        Di Hu,Chao Xiao,Xia Wang,Xike Xiong,Jun Sun,Qiqi Zhuo,Jianjun Wang,Chuanxiang Qin,Lixing Dai 한국섬유공학회 2019 Fibers and polymers Vol.20 No.12

Nanofiller reinforcement is an effective approach to realize high performance of regular synthetic fibers. In thispaper, graphene oxide nanoribbons (GONRs) with complete morphology were prepared via unzipping single-walled carbonnanotubes (SWCNTs) through long-time freeze-drying after oxidation. GONRs derived from SWCNTs (SGONRs) did notneed any modification and could be directly added to poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) to form uniform dispersions and thencontinuous fibers were fabricated using wet spinning and hot-drawing. SGONRs provided abundant hydrogen bondinginteraction with PVA chains, so SGONRs could not only obviously improve the dispersibility in PVA, but also enhance themechanical properties of the composites. The tensile strength of PVA/SGONRs composite fibers with 0.4 wt% loading ofSGONRs reach 1032 MPa, improved by 121 % compared with PVA/SWCNTs fiber, and by 200 % with PVA fiber, respectively.

MiR-30c facilitates natural killer cell cytotoxicity to lung cancer through targeting GALNT7

        Gao Fei,Han Jianjun,Jia Li,He Jun,Wang Yun,Chen Mi,Liu Xiaojun,He Xia 한국유전학회 2023 Genes & Genomics Vol.45 No.2

Background MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to play important roles in regulating natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity to cancer cells. Objective This study aimed to investigate the effects and potential mechanism of miR-30c in regulating NK cell cytotoxicity to lung cancer cells. Methods Primary NK cells were derived from the peripheral blood of lung cancer and normal participants. Exosomes were isolated and validated via transmission electron microscopy and nanoparticle tracking analysis. The levels of miR-30c, polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 7 (GALNT7) and proteins in PI3K/AKT pathway were determined using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction or western blot. Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interferon-γ (IFN-γ) levels and the cytotoxicity of effector NK cells to target lung cancer cells were measured via enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, cell apoptosis or xenograft experiments. The relationship between miR-30c and GALNT7 was analyzed by luciferase activity, RNA pull-down and RNA immunoprecipitation assays. And a xenograft mice model was established to verify the effect of miR-30c in regulating NK cell cytotoxicity to lung cancer cells in vivo. Results NK cell-derived exosomes carrying miR-30c, and miR-30c level was significantly downregulated in primary NK cells of lung cancer patients. MiR-30c overexpression promoted TNF-α and IFN-γ secretion and enhanced the cytotoxicity of interleukin 2 (IL-2)-treated NK cells to lung cancer cells, while knockdown of miR-30c played an opposite effect in regulating the cytotoxicity of NK cells to lung cancer cells. GALNT7 was a target of miR-30c and was negatively regulated by miR-30c. Besides, miR-30c targeted GALNT7 to exert its function in regulating NK cell cytotoxicity. Furthermore, GALNT7 prompted the activation of PI3K/AKT pathway in NK cells. Additionally, miR-30c overexpression enhanced NK cell cytotoxicity to lung cancer cells and inhibited tumor growth in vivo. Conclusion miR-30c enhanced NK cell cytotoxicity to lung cancer cells via decreasing GALNT7 and inactivating the PI3K/AKT pathway, suggesting that regulating miR-30c expression maybe a promising approach for enhancing NK cell-based antitumor therapies.

Theoretical Explanation of the Peak Splitting of Tobacco-Specific N-Nitrosamines in HPLC

        Jiang, Juxing,Li, Liangchun,Wang, Mingfeng,Xia, Jianjun,Wang, Wenyuan,Xie, Xiaoguang Korean Chemical Society 2012 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.33 No.5

During the analyzing processes of the compounds, some researchers are puzzled by the analytical signals for some TSNAs (with or without splitting peaks at various pHs and temperatures). In this work, a detailed theoretical study of structural and thermal properties of the $E/Z$ isomers of TSNAs and the corresponding protonated structures was performed using DFT methods. The calculations showed that the $E$ isomers are almost stable than $Z$ isomers, while the $Z$ isomers would be more stable when in protonation. The calculated results predicted the possibility of separation of their $E$ and $Z$ isomer forms and also showed that protonation affects the dipole moment of molecules significantly (0.1-0.5 to 0.7-2.1 Debye). The calculations agreed well with the experiments that the split-up of the HPLC signal for TSNAs into two peaks are very sensitive to the pH and temperature of the mobile-phase.
