The foodborne illness is the important public health concerns, and the livestock feces are known to be one of the major reservoirs of foodborne pathogens. Also, it was reported that 45.5% of foodborne illness outbreaks have been associated with the animal products contaminated with the livestock feces. In addition, it has been known that the persistence of a pathogens depends on many potential virulent factors including the various virulent genes. Therefore, the first step to understanding the public health risk of livestock feces is to identify and describe microbial communities and potential virulent genes that contribute to bacterial pathogenicity. We used the whole metagenome shotgun sequencing to evaluate the prevalence of foodborne pathogens and to characterize the virulence associated genes in pig and chicken feces. Our data showed that the relative abundance of potential foodborne pathogens, such as Bacillus cereus was higher in chickens than pigs at the species level while the relative abundance of foodborne pathogens including Campylobacter coli was only detected in pigs. Also, the microbial functional characteristics of livestock feces revealed that the gene families related to “Biofilm formation and quorum sensing” were highly enriched in pigs than chicken. Moreover, the variety of gene families associated with “Resistance to antibiotics and toxic compounds” were detected in both animals. These results will help us to prepare the scientific action plans to improve awareness and understanding of the public health risks of livestock feces.

Anxieties of Victorian Society Represented in Bram Stoker`s Dracula

Conventional readings of m Stoker`s Dracula tend to focus on the sexuality of the vampire women and the degeneracy of Dracula. There is a large emphasis on the monster rather than on reasons why the anxieties of the British characters are so strongly felt and what these anxieties may truly be masking. This study explores the reactive anxieties felt by middle class white men concerning the New Woman and immigrants in the social and political aspects in Victorian society. It investigates meanings of British society`s multiple anxieties concerning the New Woman and the influx of immigrants at the fin de siecle.
Mina as a New Type of New Woman Represented in Bram Stoker's Dracula

The purpose of this study is to examine the characterization of a new type of New Woman like Mina which appears in Bram stoker's novel, Dracula This study specifically focuses on how the ideal of Victorian womanhood is juxtaposed to the attributed horrors of the New Woman in Dracula. It therefore argues that Mina is Stoker's compromise, a woman who honors Victorian traditional ideas while adopting certain modem characteristics, making her a new ideal. In Dracula, Mina keeps two mental images. The first image is Mina as a mother. She not only manages to survive and overcome the vampiric sickness, but she also completes the Victorian ideal by becoming a mother. Motherhood is one of the most revered characteristics of the Victorian ideal of womanhood. Mina has the characteristics of older Victorian ideals and modem sensibilities. The second image is Mina as an example of the weaker sex that needs to be saved and protected by men. Stoker creates Mina's images as a new type of New Woman to make a bridge between the old and new values.
Lucy and Three Vampire Women as the Proactive New Women Represented in Bram Stoker's Dracula

This study addresses how the middle class woman's adaptation from traditional to modem gender roles affects how they are treated. In Dracula Bram stoker shows his own opinion that how the female character, Lucy, adapts to the role of the New Woman determines the way in which they are treated in the social environment in the novel. This study also examines the three other women in the novel, Dracula's wives, who are often seen by critics as examples of the sexual predator "New Woman," but who are really victims of the patriarchal system. Through the novel Dracula, Bram Stoker offers ample opportunity in which the readers can think discourse in the Victorian society relative to the issues of the New Woman, gender roles, and ethnic purity caused by immigration. Through Dracula, he also explores the essence of fear of the Victorian period about women's changing roles and independence to be able to endanger men's perceived roles as protector and provider.

The purpose of study was to analyze the types of dental treatment and their frequencies in a charity dental clinic for the disabled people, and to figure out baseline data for developing oral health policies. This study was based on the 141 patient records who visited the charity free dental clinic between 2011 and 2016. Data were evaluated according to gender, types of disability, types of treatment, and the average number of caries. The number of dental treatment according to sex was 70% for men and 30% for women. Patients were classified according to types of disability. The most common type of disability is intellectual disabilities (53.9%). After that, developmental disabilities were 37.5%, and brain lesions were 8.51%. The highest frequency of dental treatment is preventive treatment (45.1%). The mean number of dental caries was higher than the number of initial dental caries in all types of disability. Preventive oral care education and regular oral screening are necessary for the oral health of patients with disabilities.
성과주의 보상제도가 직무만족에 미치는 영향 : 임금분산의 조절효과

Although the effects of companies’ pay for performance systems have been examined extensively, the effects of such systems on employee attitudes have rarely been studied. The purpose of this paper is to examine pay for performance systems’ effects on employee job satisfaction. It attempts to show the link between employee job satisfaction and the moderate role of pay dispersion within a company using a pay for performance system. In addition, we test a hypothesis that strengthens the relationship between pay for performance systems and job satisfaction when a company’s actual pay gap is large according to performance. We used Human Capital Corporate Panel (HCCP) data. This study employed the fourth data collection in 2011 and the fifth data collected in 2013 for analysis, a total of 201 firms and 3924 employees’ responses. Using Hierarchical Linear Modeling, we found that pay-for-performance systems (organizational level) affect employee job satisfaction (individual level), and we also found that pay dispersion (organizational level) within organizations has weak to moderate effects. The results of the present study support the hypothesized moderating effect of pay dispersion on employee job satisfaction within an organization using a pay-for-performance system. Based on the results, we suggest recommendations related to the adoption and implementation of pay-for-performance systems. The study’s limitations are included. 성과주의 보상제도가 기업과 개인에게 긍정적인 영향을 미치는지, 그리고 어떠한 조건하에서 그 효과가 강하게 나타나는지는 학문적으로 뿐만 아니라 실무적으로도 중요한 주제이다. 본 연구는 기업에서 실시되는 성과주의 보상제도가 개인의 직무만족에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 다층모형을 통해 살펴보았다. 또한 기업에서 실제 성과에 따른 임금분산이 있을 때 성과주의 보상제도와 직무만족간의 관계를 강화시키는 가설을 설정하였다. 본 연구에서는 가설을 검증하기 위하여 한국직업능력개발원의 인적자본기업패널 2011년, 2013년 자료를 사용하여 총 201개 기업, 3924명의 근로자의 응답을 최종분석 사용하였다. 독립변수인 성과주의 보상제도는 조직수준의 성과급제도로 측정하였고, 임금분산은 조직수준의 조직 내 임금격차를 임금함수의 추정을 통해 측정하였다. 종속변수인 직무만족은 개인수준에서 측정하여 조직수준의 성과주의 보상제도가 개인수준인 근로자의 직무만족에 미치는 영향을 다층모형을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구결과는 성과주의 보상제도가 근로자들의 직무만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 기업 내에서의 임금분산이 두 변수간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 기업에서 성과주의 보상제도 도입 및 실행에 관련한 시사점을 제시하였다.
