Privacy-Preserving One-Class Support Vector Machine with Vertically Partitioned Data
Qiang Lin,Huimin Pei,Kuaini Wang,Ping Zhong 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.11 No.5
We establish a new model of privacy-preserving one-class support vector machine (SVM) based on vertically partitioned data. Every participant holds all the data with a part of attributes. They apply different random matrices to establish their own kernel matrix. By sharing these partial kernel matrices, we construct a global kernel matrix and establish linear and nonlinear privacy-preserving models. Experimental results on benchmark data sets verify the validity of the proposed models.
Privacy-Preserving One-Class Support Vector Machine with Horizontally Partitioned Data

We propose a new algorithm of privacy-preserving one-class support vector machine (SVM) with horizontally partitioned data. Every participant holds a part of data with all the data attributes. They apply the same random matrix to establish their own kernel matrix. By sharing these partial kernel matrices, we generate a global kernel matrix and establish two privacy-preserving one-class SVM models, which include the linear model and the nonlinear model. Partial kernel matrix can protect the privacy of the participants, and the global kernel matrix can ensure the classification accuracy. Experimental results on benchmark data sets indicate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Background: Currently available guidelines contain conflicting recommendations on the management of blood pressure (BP) in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Therefore, it is necessary to appraise the guidelines and summarize the agreements and differences among recommendations. Methods: Four databases and the websites of guideline organizations were searched for guidelines regarding BP targets and thresholds for pharmacologic therapy in DM patients, and the included guidelines were appraised with the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE) II instrument. Results: In 6,498 records identified, 20 guidelines met our inclusion criteria with 64.0% AGREE II scores (interquartile range, 48.5% to 72.0%). The scores of the European and American guidelines were superior to those of the Asian guidelines (both adjusted P<0.001). Most of the guidelines advocated systolic BP targets <130 mm Hg (12 guidelines, 60%) and diastolic BP targets <80 mm Hg (14 guidelines, 70%) in DM patients. Approximately half of the guidelines supported systolic BP thresholds >140 mm Hg (10 guidelines, 50%) and diastolic BP thresholds >90 mm Hg (nine guidelines, 45%). The tiny minority of the guidelines provided the relevant recommendations regarding the lower limit of official BP targets and the ambulatory BP monitoring (ABPM)/home BP monitoring (HBPM) targets and thresholds in DM patients. Conclusion: The lower official BP targets (<130/80 mm Hg) in patients with DM are advocated by most of the guidelines, but they contain conflicting recommendations on the official BP thresholds. Moreover, the gaps regarding the lower limit of official BP targets and the ABPM/HBPM targets and thresholds need to be considered by future study.
Comparative portrayal of ocular surface microbe with and without dry eye
ZhenHao Li,Yufang Gong,ShuZe Chen,SiQi Li,Yu Zhang,HuiMin Zhong,ZhouCheng Wang,YiFan Chen,QiXin Deng,YuTing Jiang,LiYing Li,Min Fu,GuoGuo Yi 한국미생물학회 2019 The journal of microbiology Vol.57 No.11
To compare the ocular surface (OS) microbial communities and diversity between dry eye (DE) and non-DE (NDE). Furthermore, we compared meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and non-MGD (NMGD) among DE subjects. The V3-V4 region of 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing was performed in the conjunctival swab samples to investigate the composition of the OS bacterial community in DE (n=35) and NDE (n=54) and compared the composition of MGD (n=25) and NMGD (n=10) among DE subjects. Deep sequencing of OS 16S rDNA from DE (n=35) and NDE (n=54) demonstrated great a difference in alpha and beta diversity between the OS bacterial flora (P < 0.05). The similar OS microbial structures were shown at the phylum and genus levels by bioinformatics analysis between them, and in LEfSe (linear discriminant analysis effect size) analysis, Bacteroidia and Bacteroidetes were enriched in DE, while Pseudomonas was plentiful in NDE (linear discriminant analysis [LDA] > 4.0). Among the DE group, there was no significant difference in α and β diversity between MGD and NMGD (P > 0.05). Surprisingly, Bacilli was the dominant microbe in MGD, and Bacteroidetes was the superior bacteria in NMGD among DE subjects (LDA > 4.0). Different diversity of OS bacteria composition between DE and NDE and the altered diversity of OS bacteria may play an important role in DE. Moreover, the lower dominance of OS bacteria in DE may be associated with the occurrence and development of DE. Although there was no significant difference in alpha and beta analysis, the OS dominant microbe between MGD and NMGD among DE was different.
