Recently, technologies of sensing the barcode widen as like the cellular phone, point-card, id and ticket. Through combination barcode with camera phone, relevant web contents or commerce is connected by sensing the newspaper or megazine. In this paper, we propose the web based product management system that consist of image process module, web server and product database. Proposed system uses the camera phone and follows the WIPI standardization. By using this system, user can send the product information to server and manage this information through web page.

<P>The ameliorating effects of the ethyl acetate fraction from Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (EFHS)(2) against diabetes mellitus (DM)(3) and DM-induced cognitive impairment were investigated on streptozotocin (STZ)(4)-induced DM mice. The EFHS groups showed improved hyperglycemia and glucose tolerance compared to the STZ group. Furthermore, their liver and kidney function and lipid metabolic imbalance in the blood serum were effectively recovered. The EFHS groups significantly ameliorated STZ-induced cognitive impairment in Y-maze, passive avoidance, and Morris water maze (MWM)(6) tests. The EFHS groups showed significant improvement in the antioxidant and cholinergic systems of the brain tissue. In addition, EFHS had an excellent ameliorating effect on protein expression levels from the tau hyperphosphorylation pathways, such as phospho-c-Jun N-terminal kinases (p-JNK),(6) phospho-tau (p-tau),(7) and cleaved poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (c-PARP).(8) The main compounds of EFHS were identified as various phenolic compounds, including hibiscus acid, caffeoylquinic acid (CQA)(9) isomers, and quercetin derivates. Therefore, EFHS containing various physiologically active materials can potentially be used for improving DM-induced cognitive impairment via its antioxidant activity, improvement of the cholinergic system, and hyperphosphorylation tau signaling.</P>
P042 : Cutaneous manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus

Background: SLE is a multisystem disease. Skin manifestations are some of the most common symptoms. Objectives: Our purpose was to study in detail the cutaneous lesions in SLE. Methods: We carried out a retrospective study of 45 patients with SLE during a 10years period. Results: 1. The female:male ratio was 10.5:1. 2. Cutaneous manifestation(95%) was the second common finding, next to ANA positivity. 3. Lupus specific cutaneous lesions were as follows: Localized ACLE, 33%; generalized ACLE, 9%; subacute cutaneous LE, 2.2%; discoid LE, 2.2%; lupus panniculitis, 2.2%. 4. Lupus non-specific lesions were follows: Raynaud`s phenomenon, 22%; oral ulcer, 15.4%; diffuse non-scarring alopecia, 13.2%; photosensitivity, 8.8%; urticaria, 6.6%. Conclusion: Skin changes play a prominent part in SLE and may provide helpful diagnostic information. In this study, malar rash was the most common manifestation.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Bacterial pathogens of water origin have potential public threats thus suggesting the need of developing efficient and sustainable water disinfection strategies from waterborne pathogens. We set out to synthesize different controlled morphologies of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB>) polymer, evaluate their comparative effects on the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and investigate potential applications in water purification systems. Characterization of the synthesized microstructures of g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB>, such as melamine-cyanuric acid (MCA)-based rosette-type, rod-type, 2D hexagonal, and 3D cubic mesoporous silica was accomplished using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The microbial inhibitory potential of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> photocatalyst against waterborne <I>Escherichia coli</I>, <I>Staphylococcus aureus</I>, and <I>Salmonella typhimurium</I> was evaluated based on the effective activity of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> upon visible light excitations. The microbicidal efficiency of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> was evident within 30 min of visible light exposure via direct interaction, while other microstructures of g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> demonstrated only slight antimicrobial effects after 120 min, with insufficient ROS generation. The antimicrobial and ROS-generating effects of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> depended on the type and surface area of the synthesized 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> material. <P>Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) induces cell proliferation in human aortic smooth muscle cells (hAoSMCs), which may be involved in atherogenesis and intimal hyperplasia. Recent studies have demonstrated that Cl- channels are related to vessel cell proliferation induced by a variety of stimuli. In this study, we investigated a potential role of Cl- channels in the signaling pathway of LDL effects on hAoSMC proliferation with a focus on the activation of Erk1/2-PI3K/Akt and the subsequent upregulation of Egr-1. Cl- channel blockers, DIDS, but neither NPPB nor Furosemide, completely abolished the LDL-induced DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Moreover, DIDS, but not NPPB, significantly decreased LDL-stimulated Cl- concentration, as judged by flow cytometry analysis using MQAE as a Cl--detection dye. DIDS pretreatment completely abolished the activation of Erk1/2 and PI3K/Akt in a dose-dependent manner that is the hallmark of LDL activation, as judged by Western blot and proliferation assays. Moreover, pretreatment with DIDS (Cl- channel blockers) but not LY294002 (PI3K inhibitors) completely abolished the LDL-induced upregulation of Egr-1 to the same extent as PD98059 (MEK inhibitors to inhibit Erk), as judged by Western blot and luciferase reporter assays. This is the first report, to our knowledge, that DIDS-sensitive Cl--channels play a key role in the LDL-induced cell proliferation of hAoSMCs via the activation of Erk1/2 and PI3K/Akt and the upregulation of Egr-1.</P>

To deal with service requirement of users intelligently and effectively in the ubiquitous environment, easier interface to be provided and at the point of user advertisement will be done to access to the service effectively and easily. For that, as reflecting state of network to the description repository called DF, about information active priority will be set. Also, through QOS, followed by properties, as providing effective search, to the Web service environment, network load will be reduced guaranteeing heterogeneous service to the QOS. In the paper for service discovery to guarantee QOS in the Web service environment, architecture of directory facilitator will be proposed.
