Effect of surface morphology on screen printed solar cells
Hayoung Park,Joon Sung Lee,Soonwoo Kwon,Sewang Yoon,김동환 한국물리학회 2010 Current Applied Physics Vol.10 No.1
Surface texturing is well known as one of the major paths to improving the efficiency of silicon solar cells by increasing the short circuit current through effective photon trapping. However, the effects of the pyramids created after surface texturing on the other properties remain obscure. In this work, we studied the effect of the surface morphologies on the formation of both the emitter layer and metal electrode using the screen printing method, which is a cost-effective method of fabricating silicon solar cells. Various textured surfaces, such as with large, small, sharp or smooth pyramids, were investigated in comparison with a flat surface. The contact resistance was measured from a TLM patterned cell by I-V measurement under dark conditions and SEM, TEM and UV-vis spectrophotometer were used to evaluate the surfaces.

Background: The characteristics of bronchiectasis and its clinical implications in patients with previous pulmonary tuberculosis have not been well elucidated using a nationally representative database. Methods: We compared respiratory symptoms, comorbidities, lung function, quality of life, and socioeconomic status in post-tuberculosis subjects with bronchiectasis versus those without bronchiectasis participating in the Korean National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey 2007-2009. Results: The prevalence of bronchiectasis was 2.6% (n = 35) in the 1,352 subjects with previous pulmonary tuberculosis. Bronchiectasis subjects showed lower body mass index (BMI) (21.9 vs. 23.4 kg/m2, P = 0.002) and higher asthma rate (26.8% vs. 4.5%, P < 0.001) compared with those without bronchiectasis. There were no significant intergroup differences in age, lung function, respiratory symptoms, family income, and education. However, compared with subjects without bronchiectasis, bronchiectasis subjects showed lower EuroQoL five dimensions (EQ-5D) index (0.86 vs. 0.93, P = 0.010), which denotes the poor quality of life. Among EQ-5D components, there was a significant difference in the anxiety/depression component (38.5 vs. 12.1, P = 0.002) between two groups. Bronchiectasis subjects were associated with lower EQ-5D index (difference = 0.077, 95% confidence interval: 0.002-0.151), as compared with those without bronchiectasis, using multivariable linear regression with adjustment for demographic characteristics, BMI, education, and family income. Conclusion: The prevalence of bronchiectasis was 2.6% in the subjects with previous pulmonary tuberculosis. Post-tuberculosis subjects with bronchiectasis had higher asthma rate and reduced quality of life than those without bronchiectasis.

Purpose: As nonprofit organizations have made strides in international development, ensuring financial resources has become pivotal to determine what nonprofits strive for and how they perform with the budget generated without efforts for profit-making. The purpose of this research aims to investigate the determinants of donation intention that are affected by television fundraising campaigns in order to improve financial sustainability. This study applied the effects of emotional sympathy, economic value, accountability, relevance, and sustainability on donation intention. Research design, data, and methodology: This study collected data via an online survey by classifying respondents based on donation experiences and applied statistical analyses such as factor analysis, regression, and ANOVA. This study selected television fundraising campaigns aligned with criteria of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Results: The results of this study showed that emotional sympathy was a dominant variable regardless of previous donation experiences, while economic value was significant for inexperienced donors. Conclusions: The results provide implications to nonprofit organizations for fundraising as to what aspects need to be addressed in order to draw donors’ motivation for giving behavior. Given efforts for successful implementation of development agenda, it is fundamental to establish financial sustainability of nonprofit organizations and build up public awareness.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate hearing handicaps, instrumental activities of daily living, and hearing-handicap-related quality of life among community-dwelling older adults and identify factors that influence hearing-handicap-related quality of life. Methods: A total of 129 older adults aged 65 and over participated in the study, and data collection was conducted from December 20th, 2020 to March 20th, 2021. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlations, and multiple linear regression were used for data analysis. Results: Self-reported hearing handicaps positively associated with instrumental activities of daily living (r=.82, p<.001), and negatively associated with hearing-handicap-related quality of life (r=-.80, p<.001). Instrumental activities of daily living negatively associated with hearing-handicap-related quality of life (r=-.71, p<.001). Hearing handicaps influenced hearing-handicap-related quality of life (β=-.70, p<.001). A regression model explained 66% of the variance in hearing-handicap-related quality of life. Conclusion: Hearing handicaps affect hearing-handicap-related quality of life of older adults living in the community. Therefore, nursing interventions to prevent hearing handicaps are required to improve hearing-handicap-related quality of life of older adults.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to use a systematic review to investigate how infection control education has been designed, implemented and evaluated in undergraduate programs in nursing. Methods: This study was conducted base on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). To search studies related to infection control education programs, Ovid-EMBASE, CINAHL, Pubmed, KoreaMed, KMBASE and KISS were used. A total of 2,306 studies were identified, and 13 studies were selected for final analysis. Results: Ten studies out of 13 were designed as pre-post, no control group, quasi-experimental study designs. Nosocomial infection and standard precautions related infection control education were the most frequently selected topics and online was the most common teaching-learning method. The infection control education programs showed significant effect on knowledge and attitude. The mean difference of 7 studies for knowledge was 5.1 (95% CI: 2.36, 8.67, p<.001) and the mean difference of 4 studies for attitude was 3.34 (95% CI: 0.12, 6.55, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that infection control education effectively improves the knowledge, attitude and compliance of nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop more specific educational programs that can reflect the changes of the times and the demands of clinical nurses.

Health Information Exchange (HIE) is expected to improve the quality and efficiency of care by allowing providers online access to healthcare information generated by other providers at the point of care. However, the adoption of the technology in Korea has been slow since its pilot program in 2007~2010 at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. The objective of this study was to survey stakeholders on the incentive program for the facilitation of HIE adoption. We surveyed 39 experts representing 6 categories of stakeholders-provider, insurer, government, information service firms, customers, and medical informatics experts for the interviews. Interview questions included program objectives, program participation requirements, incentive payment method, and administrative burden for program participation. Experts indicated that the quality of care was the most important value the program should aim to achieve through the HIE adoption. They suggested that the requirements and administrative burden for participation should be kept at minimum to recruit a large number of providers to the program, which is an indicator of program success. Experts were divided on the payment method whether the incentive should be paid as a part of the fee payment scheme operated by the National Health Insurance (NHI) or should be a payment made independent of the NHI. The source of the divide was conflict of interest among stakeholders as to who pays for the program, and the insurer and consumer groups were against the NHI taking the financial burden. It appeared to be the most significant factor for the successful program launching to resolve the gap in perceptions about benefits of the technology among stakeholders and to win the willingness to pay for the program.
