        Energy-Efficient Cooperative Beamforming based CMISO Transmission with Optimal Nodes Deployment in Wireless Sensor Networks

        This paper analyzes the nodes deployment optimization problem in energy constrained wireless sensor networks, which multi-hop cooperative beamforming (CB) based cooperative-multi-input-single-output (CMISO) transmission is adopted to reduce the energy consumption. Firstly, we establish the energy consumption models for multi-hop SISO, multi-hop DSTBC based CMISO, multi-hop CB based CMISO transmissions under random nodes deployment. Then, we minimize the energy consumption by searching the optimal nodes deployment for the three transmissions. Furthermore, numerical results present the optimal nodes deployment parameters for the three transmissions. Energy consumption of the three transmissions are compared under optimal nodes deployment, which shows that CB based CMISO transmission consumes less energy than SISO and DSTBC based CMISO transmissions. Meanwhile, under optimal nodes deployment, the superiorities of CB based CMISO transmission over SISO and DSTBC based CMISO transmissions can be more obvious when path-loss-factor becomes low.

      • Cluster Lifetime Analysis for Cooperative Beamforming in Wireless Sensor Networks

        Cooperative multiple input multiple outputs (MIMO) or its variation cooperative multiple input single outputs (MISO) is becoming a potential technique to minimize the energy consumption and prolong lifetime in wireless sensor networks. For cluster based wireless sensor networks, cluster lifetime for cooperative beamforming (CBF) based cooperative MISO scheme is studied in this paper.We first establish the energy model of a cluster with cooperative MISO scheme based on CBF. Based on the energy consumption model, the effects of cluster size and distance between cluster and sink node on the performance of cluster lifetime are discussed, an joint optimization to maximize cluster lifetime by finding the optimal modulation parameter and number of cooperative nodes is proposed. Numerical results show that CBF based cooperative MISO scheme can achieve longer cluster lifetime compare with STBC and the joint optimization can further improve the cluster lifetime.

        Energy Consumption Evaluation in Stamping Workshops via a Discrete Event Simulation-Based Approach

        Stamping is employed in a wide range of applications in industry, which is composed of discrete flow energy-intensive processes. Durations of stamping activities are much shorter than that of mold changing and transportation, which makes energy consumption in stamping workshops greatly affected by the production scheme and the proportion of transportation volume. Different from machining that has been widely discussed, there is less research on energy saving in stamping workshops. This paper aims to evaluate the energy consumption of stamping on the workshop level. A theoretical model and a discrete event simulation model were developed based on energy flow and material flow in the workshop. The theoretical model was used to calculate each component of energy consumption based on production-related data. The simulation model was used to predict the overall energy required in the workshop when subjected to changes in its production conditions. Impacts of influence factors, including machine failure rate, proportion of transportation volume, and production scheme on energy consumption, makespan, and machine utilization rates, were studied to find opportunities for energy reduction and production efficiency improvement. Finally, a case study of a stamping workshop for forklifts validated the proposed approach, and optimization measures were suggested, implemented, and verified. Results have found that under the same production scheme (suppose each press has the same failure rate), the balance between energy use and makespan was achieved when the proportion of transportation volume was 1/2. This simulation-based approach provides a useful tool for evaluating and reducing energy consumption and helps operators to perform energy-saving actions in stamping workshops.

        Co‑doped amorphous MoSx for efficient hydrogen evolution reaction in acid condition

        Amorphous molybdenum sulfide ( MoSx) has been regarded as a promising hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalyst due to its mild preparation conditions and low-cost precursor materials. In this work, we report a simple strategy combining the growth of amorphous MoSx on the surface of metal organic frameworks (ZIF-67) and annealing treatment to prepare Co-doped MoSx nanopolyhedrons (denoted as CoMoSx NPs). The CoMoSx NPs exhibit excellent HER activity in acid condition with an overpotential of 188 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm? 2 (η10), and a relatively stable overpotential after 2000 cyclic voltammetry (CV) cycles testing. The excellent HER performance of the CoMoSx NPs can be attributed to the doping of Co element adjust the electronic structure and increase the conductivity of catalyst, and the nanopolyhedrons structure which can expose more active sites for HER electrocatalytic. This study offers a low-cost and simple strategy to prepare high-activity HER catalyst, which holds great promises in developing advanced electrocatalysts for energy storage.

        Height-thickness ratio on axial behavior of composite wall with truss connector

        Double skin composite walls offer structural and economic merits over conventional reinforced concrete counterparts in terms of higher capacity, greater stiffness, and better ductility. This paper investigated the axial behavior of double skin composite walls with steel truss connectors. Full-scaled tests were conducted on three specimens with different height-to-thickness ratios. Test results were evaluated in terms of failure mode, load-axial displacement response, buckling loading, axial stiffness, ductility, strength index, load-lateral deflection, and strain distribution. The test data were compared with AISC 360 and Eurocode 4 and it was found that both codes provided conservative predictions on the safe side.

      • The Research on WSNs Localization Algorithm for Danger Area Warning

        Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are a new kind of data acquisition technology for danger area warning to ensure the safety of personnel production operation. In order to apply the suitable wireless node localization algorithm for danger area warning,an improved CT-IPIT+ algorithm is proposed in this paper.Considered the "edge effect", the algorithm improved the interior point judgment rules which reduces the error rate of Out-To-In effectively.Through the selection of reasonable restriction threshold, the In-To-Out error is eliminated.By counting number of inside and outside judgement results, the purpose of reducing the total error rate of misjudgment is further realized.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the rate of two types of errors and the total error rate can be controlled under 6.3%.

        Microstructural Effect on Cold Strengthening Mechanism of MP159 Alloys

        Previous investigations on MP159 alloys have largely reported the striking reinforcement performance after cold deformation,which the deformation mechanism was attributed to HCP phases and deformed twins and so on. To data, the microstructuraleffect on cold strengthening mechanism of MP159 alloy was still controversial. In this work, the processes of microstructuralevolution were elaborated through multi-scale structural characterizations. In the initial MP159, the recrystallized grainsand Σ3 twins (<111> 60°) play a dominant role in the microstructures. After cold drawing, the microcosmic dislocationswere significantly increased in the deformed grains. The mesoscopic Σ3 twins were seriously deformed to become thedeformed twins, inducing that the grains were refined. Meanwhile, the grain boundaries were broken and the HAGBs weresubsequently transformed to the LAGBs. The microstructural transition of dislocations → LAGBs ← HAGBs was confirmed. The high stacking fault energy in the deformed twins promoted a high strain energy stored in the MP159, forming the macroscopical<111> //RD texture. The series of microstructural changes induced the significant enhancement of the strengthand hardness. The microstructural effect on cold strengthening mechanism of MP159 alloys was clarified, which would bea great significance to strengthening metallic materials in the current investigations.

      • Disorders of Small and Large Intestine : Colorectal Cancer In Guangdong Province: A Demographic And Anatomic Survey

        Background/Aims: Colorectal cancer is the third leading incidence of malignant tumour in the world and the incidence of colorectal cancer has steadily been increasing in Asia in recently years. The aim of our study is to determine the basic demographic features of patients with colorectal cancer and the anatomic distribution and characteristics of the tumour in Guangdong population. Methods: A review of patients from 1990 to 2004 at five hospitals was conducted, including Peal Triangle Area in Guangdong (Nanfang Hospital and Huizhou Central People`s Hospital), North area of Guangdong (Shaoguan North-Guangdong People`s Hospital), West area of Guangdong (Affiliated Hospital Guangdong Medical Institute) and East area of Guangdong (Meizhou People`s Hospital). Results: Analysis was carried out on 6,501 patents, only 6,488 cases provided age. The age ranged from 5 years old to 91 years old and the mean age of 6,488 cases is 59. 5.2% (340/6,488) of the patients was young CRC patients. The peak incidence was between the ages 61 and 70 years old (29.5%). The mean age increases from 55 years old (1990-1992) to 61 years old (2002-2004) and the proportion of young CRC patients descends from 7.1% to 3.5%. The make to female ratio is 1.5:1 and the ratio increased with age increasing. Of 6,501 lesions, 3,423 (52.7%) were located in rectum and 3,078 (47.3%) in colon, the ratio of rectum cancer to colon cancer is 1.1:1. The proportion of rectum cancer decreased significantly from 74.5% (1990-1992) to 64.9% (2002-2004) and that of the right sides colon cancer increased from 25.5% to 35.1%. In four different areas, the mean age of CRC increasing and East area of Guangdong ranked the fist. There was no significant difference in the ratio of male to female. Conclusions: The demography of colorectal cancer in Guangdong is different from before and further study should be pursued to find the reason.
