Elliptic Flows of Charged and Strange Hadrons in Cu-Cu Collisions at High Energy
Bao-Chun Li,Yuan-Yuan Fu,Fu-Hu Liu,Li-Li Wang 한국물리학회 2012 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.60 No.7
We investigate the dependence of the elliptic flow v2 on the transverse momentum PT for charged and strange hadrons produced in Cu-Cu collisions at high energy by using a multi-source ideal gas model. A detailed comparison with the experimental results from Cu-Cu collisions at p sNN = 62.4 GeV and 200 GeV, measured by the STAR collaboration, is discussed. Over wider range of PT , the experimental results v2(PT ) are well described by this model.

Jie Bao,Kjell Jeppson,Michael Edwards,Yifeng Fu,Lilei Ye,Xiuzhen Lu,Johan Liu 대한금속·재료학회 2016 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.12 No.1
In similarity to graphene, two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal boronnitride (hBN) has some remarkable properties, such as mechanicalrobustness and high thermal conductivity. In addition, hBN has superbchemical stability and it is electrically insulating. 2D hBN has beenconsidered a promising material for many applications in electronics, including 2D hBN based substrates, gate dielectrics for graphenetransistors and interconnects, and electronic packaging insulators. Thispaper reviews the synthesis, transfer and fabrication of 2D hBN films,hBN based composites and hBN-based van der Waals heterostructures. In particular, this review focuses on applications in manufacturingelectronic devices where the insulating and thermal properties of hBNcan potentially be exploited. 2D hBN and related composite systems areemerging as new and industrially important materials, which couldaddress many challenges in future complex electronics devices and systems.
Optical Properties of K9 Glass Waveguides Fabricated by Using Carbon-Ion Implantation

K9 glass is a material with promising properties that make it attractive for optical devices. Ion implantation is a powerful technique to form waveguides with controllable depth and refractive index profile. In this work, optical planar waveguide structures were fabricated in K9 glasses by using 6.0-MeV C3+-ion implantation with a fluence of 1.0 × 1015 ions/cm2. The effective refractive indices of the guided modes were measured by using a prism-coupling system. The refractive index change in the ion-irradiated region was simulated by using the intensity calculation method. The modal intensity profile of the waveguide was calculated and measured by using the finite difference beam propagation method and the end-face coupling technique, respectively. The transmission spectra before and after the implantation showed that the main absorption band was not influenced by the low fluence dopants. The optical properties of the carbon-implanted K9 glass waveguides show promise for use as integrated photonic devices.
Cloning of Phospholipase D from Grape Berry and Its Expression under Heat Acclimation
Wan, Si-Bao,Wang, Wei,Wen, Peng-Fei,Chen, Jian-Ye,Kong, Wei-Fu,Pan, Qiu-Hong,Zhan, Ji-Cheng,Tian, Li,Liu, Hong-Tao,Huang, Wei-Dong Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol 2007 Journal of biochemistry and molecular biology Vol.40 No.4
To investigate whether phospholipase D (PLD, EC 3.1.4.4) plays a role in adaptive response of post-harvest fruit to environment, a PLD gene was firstly cloned from grape berry (Vitis Vinifera L. cv. Chardonnay) using RT-PCR and 3'- and 5'-RACE. The deduced amino acid sequence (809 residues) showed 84.7% identity with that of PLD from Ricinus communis. The secondary structures of this protein showed the characteristic C2 domain and two active sites of a phospholipid-metabolizing enzyme. The PLD activity and its expression in response to heat acclimation were then assayed. The results indicated PLD was significantly activated at enzyme activity, as well as accumulation of PLD mRNA and synthesis of new PLD protein during the early of heat acclimation, primary suggesting that the grape berry PLD may be involved in the heat response in post-harvest grape berry. This work offers an important basis for further investigating the mechanism of post-harvest fruit adaptation to environmental stresses.

Imprinted gene expression in flowering plants predominantly occurs in the triploid endosperm of developing seed. However, endosperm is composed of distinct tissue types. For example, the maize (Zea mays) endosperm is constituted by two major tissues, starchy endosperm and aleurone. Previous studies in imprinted gene expression have generally assumed that the different tissues constituting endosperm would behavior the same, and hence have not examined them separately. Here, to examine parentalspecific expression of imprinted genes in different parts of the seed, eight previously reported maize protein-coding imprinted genes were selected, and analyzed by cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence (CAPS) coupled with Sanger sequencing for transcripts from the various seed tissues collected at 18 days after pollination (DAP). The studied tissues included seed coat, embryo, starchy endosperm and aleurone, which were collected from a pair of reciprocal F1 hybrids produced by crossing inbred lines B73 and Mo17. Six of these eight analyzed imprinted genes showed the same imprinted expression pattern between the starchy endosperm and aleurone, but two showed imprinted expression only in the starchy endosperm. Comparison of the expression pattern of 20 selected imprinted genes in multiple seed tissues and vegetative tissues indicated that the majority (~ 75%) of these imprinted genes exhibited seedspecific or endosperm-specific expression. Our results also uncovered that imprinted genes have a high propensity to be alternatively spliced via intron retention in the developing embryo compared with the other tissues.

Objective: To explore the mechanism of Toll-like receptor (TLR4) inhibition in the delay of formation of atherosclerosis by herb-partition moxibustion. Method: Seventy-five rabbits were randomly assigned to one of five groups: blank, atherosclerosis (AS) model, direct moxibustion, herb-partition moxibustion, and drug treatment. With the exception of the blank group, all rabbits were given a high-fat diet in addition to immunologic injury to create the AS model. The experiments were carried out for 16 weeks, at which time the aorta was removed from each rabbit. Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the gray level of the aortic TLR4 to observe the immunologic competence of its antigens. Fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression of TLR4 messenger RNA (mRNA) in the aorta. Results: The gray-scale value of TLR4 and the TLR4 mRNA expression significantly decreased (p < 0.05) in the direct moxibustion, herb-partition moxibustion, and drug treatment groups. Furthermore, the effects of the herb-partition moxibustion and drug treatment were superior to those of the direct moxibustion. Conclusion: Herb-partition moxibustion inhibits aortic TLR4 activity and mRNA expression, showing that herb-partition moxibustion delays the formation of atherosclerosis through the inhibition of TLR4 expression.
