종합 건강진단을 실시한 정상성인에서의 혈청지질 분포에 관한 연구
박일환,유선미,정유석 단국대학교 1997 論文集 Vol.31 No.-
Background: Hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia are regarded as the risk factors of atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries. The purpose of this study is to measure the serum lipid levels of the normal persons and to calculate the cut-off values of serum lipid levels to predict the occurence of coronary events. Methods: We investigated the serum lipid profiles of the normal adults who had visited the health promotion center of Dankook University Hospital. The mean values of serum lipids were evaluated according to the groups of age, we calculated the percentile values of serum total choleterol. Results: In normal adult persons, the means of total cholesterol increased according to age. The cut-off values of serum total cholesterol for the risk of atherosclerotic coronary events were 189 ㎎/dl for the moderate risk group(75∼90 percentile of normal persons) and 225 ㎎/dl for the high risk group(over 90 percentile of normal persons). Conclusions: This study shows that the mean and the cut-off values of serum lipid in the persons who are not obese and have normal blood pressure are significantly lower than those values of normal Korean adult persons.
RELIABLE ROLE OF NUCLEAR POWER GENERATION UNDER CO2 EMISSION CONSTRAINTS
YOUNG-EAL LEE 한국원자력학회 2007 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.39 No.5
Most decision makers in the electricity industry plan their electric power expansion program by considering only a least cost operation, even when circumstances change with differing complexities. It is necessary, however, to analyze a long-term power expansion plan from various points of view, such as environmental friendliness, benefit of a carbon reduction, and system reliability, as well as least cost operation. The objective and approach of this study is to analyze the proper role of nuclear power in a long-term expansion plan by comparing different scenarios in terms of the system cost changes, CO2 emission reduction, and system reliability in relation to the Business-As-Usual (BAU). The conclusion of this paper makes it clear that the Korean government cannot but expand the nationwide nuclear power program, because an increased energy demand is inevitable and other energy resources will not provide an adequate solution from an economic and sustainability point of view. The results of this analysis will help the Korean government in its long-term resource planning of what kinds of role each electric resource can play in terms of a triangular dilemma involving economics, environmental friendliness, and a stable supply of electricity.
A Case of Ectopic Rathke's Cleft Cyst in the Prepontine Cistern
Kim, Eal-Maan The Korean Neurosurgical Society 2012 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.52 No.2
A Rathke's cleft cyst (RCC) is a benign pituitary cyst derived from the remnant of Rathke's pouch, and usually presents as an intrasellar lesion with varying degrees of suprasellar extension. However, to date, a description of a primary prepontine RCC with no intrasellar component has not been reported. The author describes an exceptional case of a symptomatic RCC located behind the sella turcica in a 41-year-old woman who presented with severe headache. The author also provides an embryological hypothesis of the development of an ectopic RCC, with a special emphasis on radiologic characteristics.
Staging in Vestibular Schwannoma Surgery : A Modified Technique
Kim, Eal-Maan,Nam, Sung-Il The Korean Neurosurgical Society 2008 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.43 No.1
The authors herein propose the staged excision as a novel strategy to preserve facial nerve and minimize complication during microsurgery of large vestibular schwannoma (VS). At the first stage, for reducing mass effect on the brain stem and cerebellum, subtotal tumor resection was performed via a retrosigmoid craniotomy without intervention of meatal portion of tumor. With total resection of the remaining tumor, the facial nerve was decompressed and delineated during the second stage translabyrinthine approach at a later date. A 38-year-old female who underwent the staging operation for resection of her huge VS is illustrated.
