Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the behavioral and emotional problems associated with nocturnal enuresis in Korean children. Methods : Three hundred eighteen children with nocturnal enuresis, together with their parents, completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Disruptive Behavior Disorder Scale according to DSM-IV (DBDS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC), and Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (PHCSC). Ninety-three normal students were selected as the control group. Results : Compared to the normal control group, the mean scores with regard to the withdrawn, social problems, attention problems, delinquent behavior, aggressive behavior, externalizing problems and total problems profiles were significantly higher in the nocturnal enuresis group according to the CBCL results. The nocturnal enuresis group also scored significantly higher in the ADHD and ODD profiles of the DBDS. The nocturnal enuresis group was more depressed and anxious than the control group according to the results of the CDI and STAI. The mean score of the PHCSC was significantly lower in the nocturnal enuresis group when compared to the normal control group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that children with nocturnal enuresis in Korea have clinically relevant behavioral and emotional problems. The findings support the link between nocturnal enuresis and psychopathology in Korean children.
Aflatoxin B_1과 Vitamin A가 發生中인 白鼠의 肝에 미치는 影響

For the study on the effect of aflatoxin B_1 and vitamnin A on the developing fetal rat liver, aflatoxin B_1(1mg/kg, Sigma Chemicals) was administered intraperitoneally on the 8th day of pregnancy and vitamin A (50,000IU/day, Sigma Chemicals) was administered orally from the 8th day of pregnancy to a day before sacrifice daily. Under ether anesthesia, removed uterus, opened the pregnant sac, and fetuses were fixed in the 10% neutral buffered formalin solution. The 5㎛ thick liver specimens were stained with H-E and the mitotic figures were counted under high power field(x400) of light microscope. The results were as followings: 1. Aflatoxin B_1 inhibited the liver cell mitosis. 2. On the 14th day of development, vitamin A inhibited the antimitotic effect of aflatoxin B_1.

For cultivation on sawdust-bed of oak-mushroom until present time, inoculation of spawn on sawdust bed has been performed by sawdust spawn. But, liquid spawn may have advantages for rapid mass production of spawn, and now, sawdust-cultivation by liquid spawn inoculation should be applied instead of sawdust spawn. Therefore, investigations were performed to evaluate the effect of sawdust-cultivation by liquid spawn inoculation. The results were as follows : 1.When 11 kinds of liquid media were applied, the oak-mushroom culture medium was the most excellent in growth. Most suitable temperature at PDA was 25℃, and 22.5-27.5℃ in range were optimal for liquid culture. In liquid culture, amount of mycelial growth increases rapidly up to 40 days of cultivation. Incubation at fermentor brought yield of 106㎎ dry mycelia per 40㎖ media after 17 days. 2.In 1ℓ -spawn bottle, growth of mycelium by inoculation of 20㎖-liquid spawns were faster than 6g-sawdust spawn in spread of mycelia. On 2kg-bag culture, inoculations of 10㎖-, 20㎖- and 30㎖-liquid spawns were all slower than 20g-sawdust spawn in mycelial spread. So, amount increasement in ampunt of liquid spawn should be discussed. Yields of mushrooms until third sproutings of 2kg-bag culture were 580g in 30㎖-liquid spawn inoculation, but 510g, 486g and 470g from 20g-sawdust spawn, 20㎖-liquid spawn and 10㎖-liquid spawn, respectively. Thus, 30㎖-liquid spawn inoculation was highest in yield. Key words : oak-mushroom, sawdust-bed, liquid spawn.
유산망아지에서 말herpesvirus 의 면역조직학적 및 immunogold 기법에 의한 전자현미경적 진단

To investgate the causative Virus in aborbon of horse in Cheju, we examined the spleen of affected foal by immunohtochemistq and immunogold electron microscopy using EHV - specific antisera. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that a large number of EHV immunoreadive cells were deteded in the red pulp as well as in the sinudoidal cells in the affected spleen. By the immunogold electron microxopy(EM) of crude preparation of EHV culture, electron dense gold paricles were labelled along the envelope of amorphous virus parhcles with vanng sizes of 50-200nm. We suppose that immunohistochemical method is good for the diagnosis of tissues in EHV infections, and immunogold EM is recommended for the study of virus dia gnosis of fluid specimen as well as the ultrastustural study.

This study was Conducted to obtain some fundamental information on the chemical components of leguminous foliage comprising carbohydrates, lignin, extractives, composition of essential elements, pH and protein. Test materials used in this study were the foliage of seven leguminous species. (see, Table 1) Chemical analyses, of organic and inorganic components were performed by TAPPI standard and A.O.A.C. methods. 1.The extractive contents, carbohydrates and lignin of foliage are that the cold water extractives are from 17.7 to 25.37, hot water from 21.2 to 29.7%, 1% NaOH from 41.7 to 65.8%, alcohol : benzen from 6.4 to 12.4%, holocellulose contents from 37.1 to 57.7%, pentosan from 13.6 to 18.8% and lignin from 25.4 to 41.6%. 2.The essential elements of foliage are that the crude carbon contents are from 28.8 to 47.5%, N. from 1.05 to 2.79%, Ca. from 0.56 to 1.47%, Mg. from 0.22 to 0.37%, K. from 1.08 to 4.76%, P. from 0.18 to 0.38%, Cl. from 0.04 to 0.39%, Si. from 0.40 to 2.08% and ash from 4.92 to 8.17%. 3.pH values of the leguminous foliage from 5.19 to 6.82. And crude protein contents are from 10.6 to 18.8% of it.

Lupus erythematous panniculitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of subcutaneous fat that occurs in 2-3% of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Lupus erythematous panniculitis typically presents with firm, indurated subcutaneous nodules or plaques commonly developed in proximal extremities, trunks, head and neck. Face, breast and upper extremities involvement with lupus erythematous panniculitis has been infrequently reported. We report a case of lupus erythematous panniculitis developed in a 27-year-old female confirmed by histologic features and laboratory findings.
설포메틸화법에 의한 無公害 傳統韓紙의 제조에 관한 연구

This study was performed to investigate the pollution-free papermaking characteristics from paper mulberry by sulfomethylation pulping. Bast fibers were pulped by sulfomethylated cooking liquor and by alkali and alkali-peroxied processes for the comparison. Sulfomethylated pulping resulted in the superior pulp with high yield and better quality compared to those of alkali and alkali- peroxide pulps. Since the pulp was so bright, there was almost no need additional bleaching. Polluttant loads of sulfomethylated pulping effluent were very low in terms of pH, turbidity and color compared to those of alkali. Pollution-free effluents was accomplished by simple filtering treatment with pine bark, charred rice hull and sawdust compost. Pine bark was the most effective in reduction rate of pollutants.
