The effect of social intelligence levels on EEG band during watching emotional expression of avatar

Social intelligence is an important factor to understand other’s emotion in the relationship between individuals. Social intelligence has been tried to be evaluated qualitatively. However, it has been dependent on off-line analysis of subjective experience although emotion reaction has been required to be monitored in real time during interaction. This study was to determine social intelligence by measuring and analyzing EEG(Electroencephalogram) in real time. Forty-eight university students aged 20 to 31 (Mean = 23.96, SD = 2.84) years were asked to answer the Tromso Social Intelligence Scale. The social intelligence was divided into three levels according to the total scores of questionnaires. The tasks for simulating different social intelligence were to watch avatar animations with expressing positive and negative emotions respectively. The EEG was measured to 19 channels by international 10-20 systems. EEG spectrum extracted RFA(Relative Fast Alpha), RB(Relative Beta), RMB(Relative Mid Beta), RHB(Relative High Beta), RG(Relative Gamma), etc. One-way ANOVA analyzed the mean difference of EEG frequency variation according to social intelligence levels. The power of RMB on frontal (F7), RB, RMB, RFA, and RG on temporal (T3, T4, T5, and T6) and RG on occipital (O2) lobes showed significant difference among levels in positive emotion. The power of RMB on frontal (F4), RHB on temporal (T4), and RMB on occipital (O2) lobes showed significant difference among levels in negative emotion. These results expect to basic data to develop a social intelligence evaluation tool that can classify social intelligence level in real time by EEG response.

사회지능(Social Intelligence)은 대인관계 속에서 타인의 감성을 이해하기 위한 중요한 요소다. 개인 정서뿐만 아니라 타인의 감성까지 이해하여 공감하기 위해서는 감성을 정확하게 인지할 수 있어야 한다. 하지만, 기존 연구는 사회지능을 정의하고, 사회적 행동에 의한 정성적 평가에 초점을 두었다. 본 연구에서는 사회지능 수준에 따라 타인에 대한 공감능력에도 차이가 있는지를 밝히기 위해 감성인식 과정에서 정량적 지표인 심혈관 반응(ECG)을 확인한다. 이를 통해, 타인을 공감하기 위한 감성 인식능력이 사회지능 수준에 따라서 유의미한 차이를 나타내는지 확인했다. 타인과 감성적 상호작용을 시뮬레이션하기 위해 얼굴 표정과 몸짓으로 명확한 감성을 표현하는 아바타 애니메이션을 활용했다. ECG 신호로부터 BPM, SDNN, 평균 Amplitude 를 추출했고, 아바타의 표현 감성에 따라 사회지능 수준별로 유의미한 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과는 ECG 반응을 통한 실시간 사회지능 평가 도구개발에 기초자료가 될 수 있으며, 이를 바탕으로 VR 콘텐츠, 애니메이션, 영화 등 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있는 아바타의 감성 표현력 수준을 평가하는 정량적 지표로 활용될 것을 기대한다.

We experienced one case of anesthesia for liver transplantation in 32-year-old male patient with liver cirrhosis. The liver donor was 27-year-old male patient who was diagnosed brain death due to car accident. The operation was finished successfuly for 12 hours with intensive monitoring and treatrnent with using TEG and RIS. Patient was transfered to ICU after operation with intubated state. Extubation was done 2 days after operation and patient discharged without complication about 2 months later.

An histological study was conducted to determine the initial treatment time and treatment duration in the use of sex-reversal hormones in relation to gonadal development and sexual differentiation in the bagrid catfish, Leiocassis ussuriensis. The primordial germ cell, which could be recognized from one-day-old fry, began to protrude into the peritoneal cavity between the mesonephric duct and the gut. The primordial gonad with a genital ridge was developed at 5∼10 days after hatching. Sex differentiation of the ovary was identified by the ovarian cavity and meiotic oocytes from 20-day-old larvae. Testicular differentiation was also identified by spermatogonial cells from 20-day-old larvae. It may therefore be concluded that this species belongs to the differentiated type of gonochoristic teleost.

<P>The online model, Weather Research and Forecasting Model with Chemistry (WRF-Chem) is employed to interpret the effects of aerosol-cloud-precipitation interaction on mesoscale meteorological fields over Northeast Asia during the Megacity Air Pollution Study-Seoul (MAPS-Seoul) 2015 campaign. The MAPS-Seoul campaign is a pre-campaign of the Korea-United States Air Quality (KORUS-AQ) campaign conducted over the Korean Peninsula. We validated the WRF-Chem simulations during the campaign period, and analyzed aerosol-warm cloud interactions by diagnosing both aerosol direct, indirect, and total effects. The results demonstrated that aerosol directly decreased downward shortwave radiation up to -44% (-282 W m(-2)) for this period and subsequently increased downward longwave radiation up to + 15% (similar to 52 W m(-2)) in the presence of low-level clouds along the thematic area. Aerosol increased cloud fraction indirectly up to similar to 24% with the increases of both liquid water path and the droplet number mixing ratio. Precipitation properties were altered both directly and indirectly. Direct effects simply changed cloud-precipitation quantities via simple updraft process associated with perturbed radiation and temperature, while indirect effects mainly suppressed precipitation, but sometimes increased precipitation in the higher relative humidity atmosphere or near vapor-saturated condition. The total aerosol effects caused a time lag of the precipitation rate with the delayed onset time of up to 9 h. This implies the importance of aerosol effects in improving mesoscale precipitation rate prediction in the online approach in the presence of non-linear warm cloud.</P>
