Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the behavioral and emotional problems associated with nocturnal enuresis in Korean children. Methods : Three hundred eighteen children with nocturnal enuresis, together with their parents, completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Disruptive Behavior Disorder Scale according to DSM-IV (DBDS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC), and Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (PHCSC). Ninety-three normal students were selected as the control group. Results : Compared to the normal control group, the mean scores with regard to the withdrawn, social problems, attention problems, delinquent behavior, aggressive behavior, externalizing problems and total problems profiles were significantly higher in the nocturnal enuresis group according to the CBCL results. The nocturnal enuresis group also scored significantly higher in the ADHD and ODD profiles of the DBDS. The nocturnal enuresis group was more depressed and anxious than the control group according to the results of the CDI and STAI. The mean score of the PHCSC was significantly lower in the nocturnal enuresis group when compared to the normal control group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that children with nocturnal enuresis in Korea have clinically relevant behavioral and emotional problems. The findings support the link between nocturnal enuresis and psychopathology in Korean children.
상변화 물질을 사용한 축열조에서의 열전달 - 수직원관내에서의 내향용융실험 및 수치해석 -

온도가 일정한 외벽을 열원으로 하는 수직원통형 축열조 내에 채워진 상변화물질의 내향용융 과정에서 자연대류에 의한 열전달현상을 유한차분법을 이용하여 수치해석하였고, 그 결과를 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.<br/> 상변화물질로는 용융점온도가 42.5℃인 n-docosane paraffin(C₂₂H_(46))을 사용하였다.<br/> 본 연구 결과에서 상변화물질의 용융속도는 액상영역의 자연대류로 인하여 축열조상부로 갈수록 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 상변화물질의 초기온도는 액상영역의 속도분포에 큰 영향을 주지 않으며, 상변화물질의 초기온도가 낮을수록 용융속도는 늦어지고 축열조의 형상비(H/r_w)가 커질수록 자연대류는 활발해지는 것으로 나타났다.<br/> 이러한 수치해석의 결과는 실험 결과와 잘 일치하였으나, 수치해석시 상변화물질의 용융에 따르는 체적팽창을 고려하지 않았기 때문에 용융이 진행됨에 따라 오차가 발생 하였다. In the present investigation, experiments and numerical analysis during melting process of a phase change material were performed to research heat transfer phenomena generated by means of conduction and natural convection in the vertical tube at inward melting.<br/> The phase change material used in the experiments is 99 percent pure n-Docosane paraffin(C₂₂H_(46)).<br/> In the results, it is found that the velocity of phase change interface at the top of tube is faster than at the bottom of tube because of the effect of natural convection, and the distribution of velocity at the liquid region is little affected by the initial temperature of phase change material.<br/> The velocity of phase change interface is slower as the initial temperature of phase change material is lower, and the effect of natural convection is larger as the aspect ratio of tube is larger.<br/> In tendency of heat transfer phenomena, the experimental results were well corresponded with numerical results.<br/> But there were a little disagrements between the results of experiment and numerical analysis because of the assumption of the constant volumetric expansion coefficient in numerical analysis.
Serial Ultrasonographic Evaluation of Postpartum Uterine Involution in Miniature Schnauzer Dogs

This study was undertaken to determine the normal appearance of the postpartum uterine involution. Postpartum changes in uterine shape, architecture, echogenicity and diameter were monitored with ultrasonography in 8 Miniature Schnauzer dogs. Vaginal discharge was observed visually during the 3 weeks of postpartum. A large amount of viscous dark green discharge changed progressively to a small amount of transparent discharge. In the uterine shape, the transverse images were crescent or polygonal at the beginning, but became circular after 16 days. At postpartum day 24, the longitudinal images of placental and interplacental sites were similar to each other The echogenicity of uterine structure was clearly distinguishable among the hyperechoic serous membrane, hypochoic myometrium, hyperechoic endometrium, and anechoic uterine contents during the first week postpartum, but afterward the interluminal boundaries and echogenicity became obscure gradually. In addition, the anechoic substance of the endometrial cavity was not observed after postpartum day 28. In the uterine diameter, the diameter of placental sites decreased markedly from 24 mm at the first day postpartum to 13 mm at day 7, and the diameter of interplacental sites decreased from 15 mm at postpartum day 1 to 10 mm at day 7. At postpartum day 65, the uterus (6.4 mm) changed little and had a uniform homogenous echo, and thus it was confirmed that uterine involution was completed at that time in Miniature Schnauzer dogs.

Ampullary adenoma is a benign neoplasm with malignant potential that arises from the glandular epithelium of the ampulla of Vater. When the tumor is confined to the ampulla, abdominal sonogram and CT scan can show dilatation of the common bile duct or pancreatic duct, but the mass itself may not be seen. And even biopsies are done, the confirmation of malignant change is frequently missed, and it may be impossible to assess the presence of carcinoma in situ or invasive carcinoma without complete exicision of the lesion. So complete surgical resection is recommended because of extensive growth of the ampullary adenoma and its malignant potential. Recently, we experienced a case of about 0.8 x 1.0 cm sized tumor of the ampulla of Vater that was diagnosed as villous adenoma on endoscopic biopsy, and malignant change was found on resected surgical specimen.

Purpose: We developed a viability evaluation method for cucumber (Cucumis sativus) seed using hyperspectral reflectance imaging. Methods: Reflectance spectra of cucumber seeds in the 400 to 1000 nm range were collected from hyperspectral reflectance images obtained using blue, green, and red LED illumination. A partial least squares?discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) was developed to predict viable and non-viable seeds. Various ranges of spectra induced by four types of LEDs (Blue, Green, Red, and RGB) were investigated to develop the classification models. Results: PLS-DA models for spectra in the 600 to 700 nm range showed 98.5% discrimination accuracy for both viable and non-viable seeds. Using images based on the PLS-DA model, the discrimination accuracy for viable and non-viable seeds was 100% and 99%, respectively Conclusions: Hyperspectral reflectance images made using LED light can be used to select high quality cucumber seeds.

Purpose: Famous athlete images can result in several benefits including enhanced sport consumers` interest. In particular, sports star models are positively related to product attitude and purchase intention in the field of advertisement (Amos et al., 2008; Boyd & Shank, 2004). Madrigal(2000) stated that sport sponsorship has developed by the method of marketing communication. It should be noted that famous athlete images are very important issues pertaining to effective athlete management (Amos et al., 2008). The purpose of this study were twofold: (1) to examine the differences between the perception of famous athlete images of press types (positive and negative), the product attitude to sponsor enterprise, and purchase intention in terms of population statistics and (2) to examine the structural relationships between variables. Method: This study analyzed a survey answered by a purposeful sample of 537 people who are involved in the field of bicycle industry. To improve reliability and validity, there were two groups of respondents (i.e., each group which received positive and negative press type). PASW 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 were utilized to test frequency analyses, factor analyses, reliability analyses, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analyses, and structural equation model test. Result: Reliability and validity of the measurement scale were established through a CFA, Cronbach`s alpha analyses, and intercorrelation analyses. The results suggest that (1) there were the differences between the perception of famous athlete images of press types, the product attitude to sponsor enterprise, and purchase intention in terms of population statistics (gender, age, education level, occupation). (2) Famous athlete image positively influenced the product attitude to sponsor enterprise in terms of press type. (3) Famous athlete image did not influence purchase intention in terms of press type. (4) The product attitude to sponsor enterprise positively influenced purchase intention in terms of press type. Conclusion: The study found that efforts to minimize the differences in the perception are of the utmost importance in an effort to manage sport star in terms of press types (i.e., positive or negative type). In addition, the manager of sponsor corporate should develop customized and a variety of marketing strategies along with customer point of view. Consequently, this study may help to understand the important issues of managing sport stars, and this will make both scientific and practical contributions.

Purpose: This study was conducted to discriminate between normal hulled barley and Fusarium (Fusarium asiaticum and Fusarium graminearum) infected hulled barley by using the near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technique. Methods: Fusarium asiaticum and Fusarium graminearum were artificially inoculated in hulled barley and the reflectance spectrum of the barley spike was obtained by using a near-infrared spectral sensor with wavelength band in the range 1,175-2,170 nm. After obtaining the spectrum of the specimen, the hulled barley was cultivated in a greenhouse and visually inspected for infections. Results: From a partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) prediction model developed from the raw spectrum data of the hulled barley, the discrimination accuracy for the normal and infected hulled barley was 99.82% (563/564) and 100% (672/672), respectively. Conclusions: NIRS is effective as a quick and nondestructive method to detect whether hulled barley has been infected with Fusarium. Further, it expected that NIRS will be able to detect Fusarium infections in other grains as well.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to non-destructively and quickly predict the capsaicinoid content of domestic red pepper powders from various areas of Korea using a pungency measurement system in combination with visible and near-infrared (VNIR) spectroscopic techniques. Methods: The reflectance spectra of 149 red pepper powder samples from14 areas of Korea were obtained in the wavelength range of 450-950 nm and partial least squares regression (PLSR) models for the prediction of capsaicinoid content were developed using area models. Results: The determination coefficient of validation (RV2), standard error of prediction (SEP), and residual prediction deviation (RPD) for the capsaicinoid content prediction model for the Namyoungyang area were 0.985, ±2.17 mg/100g, and 7.94, respectively. Conclusions: These results show the possibility of VNIR spectroscopy combined with PLSR models in the non-destructive and facile prediction of capsaicinoid content of red pepper powders from Korea.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a technique for the non-destructive and rapid prediction of the moisture content in red pepper powder using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and a partial least squares regression (PLSR) model. Methods: Three red pepper powder products were separated into three groups based on their particle sizes using a standard sieve. Each product was prepared, and the expected moisture content range was divided into six or seven levels from 3 to 21% wb with 3% wb intervals. The NIR reflectance spectra acquired in the wavelength range from 1,100 to 2,300 nm were used for the development of prediction models of the moisture content in red pepper powder. Results: The values of RV2, SEP, and RPD for the best PLSR model to predict the moisture content in red pepper powders of varying particle sizes below 1.4 mm were 0.990, ±0.487% wb, and 10.00, respectively. Conclusions: These results demonstrated that NIR spectroscopy and a PLSR model could be useful techniques for measuring rapidly and non-destructively the moisture content in red pepper powder.
